    Could not agree more with this. I just got my first e kit within the last 6 weeks. This guy has helped so much with not just saying “oh this setting is the best” he actually explains and shows what different settings do and mean. The guy is a life saver for sure. Appreciate your videos.

    Thank you so much for giving me some real validation on edrums. We all buy lots of musical gagets and want to plug in and play the factory presets. When we run out of good factory settings, it's time for a new kit...Right?? Wrong. Your video puts it out there perfectly. If you want a good gigging kit that works for you, start doing some deep clicking on the module and get it down. This saved me from buying another Ekit. I really do not need more than my Alesis Strike Pro SE and the ATV set. Thanks again.

    Totally agree with you! When you have custom made drums, like me that I own a Diamond Electronic Drums kit, you need to tweak a little and then mess with your best sounds. But everything about drumming should be about having fun and also on edrums! Let's play with our modules and presets!

    Good video! Everything you do, you have to put some time in. When we started playing drums, we had to practice hard, learn some basic technique and to understand dynamics, because none of us became Dave Weckl instantly, and it's the same thing with e-drums - there's a learning curve for everything in life.

    Hi. You’re amazing! Your drumming is impeccable and your knowledge is really unmatched!
    May I ask a question to which it seems no one really knows the answer. Will the Alesis Strike Pro module work with my Roland pads? I need a definitive answer as I’m ready to buy my dream module yesterday.😜 I sold my TD-50 because it was a letdown, so now I’d like to try the Alesis if you think it will work well.
    I really need guidance. Thanks!

      Yes Alesis module will work with Roland pads besides the VH-13 HiHat and the digital Roland pads. Everything else is compatible. Thanks for watching! :)

      Thanks for your prompt reply-I’ve always heard SiREN DRUMS has the best customer service!😉
      Can you tell me if it will work out of the box or will I have to do a lot of tweaking?
      Your vast knowledge of electronic drums is much appreciated. Thanks!

    I will say two things: 1. Agreed 100% 2. Your kit is freakin’ sick, it looks like royalty with that wrap. Nice video, short and sweet.

    I just (last Thursday) took delivery of my 2nd ekit. The first was a Roland V6 that I purchased many years ago for $900. Never knew about any available adjustments, other than different kits provided. Last week I received my Alesis Strike Pro kit. Honestly, out of the box, all is not cool. Rim shots or bell hits only exemplify the initial main setting of whatever is hit. In other words, one sound, no matter where I hit. The different kits sound like they are intended, but there doesn't seem to be any difference in triggering. (Sorry if my explanation is confusing, but I am a virgin user with respect to tone control). Any help anyone could give would be greatly appreciated. I'm currently waiting to hear from Alesis Tech Support. We'll see how fast they respond. Lastly, thank you for all you do and I also agree that "everything" needs fine tuning.

    I just got the strike pro SE. Really wish they offered it without the rack. Also, my 10" Tom rim is triggering the ride if I hit it hard in a certain spot. Tried messing with the sensitivity/threshold/xtalk and no luck. Any ideas?

    Iv found an atv adrums kit works perfectly..... Although ill eventually be buying two individual kick drums and get a foot blaster trigger for two single pedals fitted directly to the pedal...... Then....... Perfect.

    Hey do you know why when I play out my kick drum sounds so much quieter then my toms? I cant really get a boom out of it. I always use the kits downloaded from you. But my kick just doesn't carry out. Thank you.

    • @AtTheSourceStudios
      @AtTheSourceStudios  4 роки тому +1

      That shouldn't be. I would make sure the trigger settings are good and you're getting all velocities coming through and if not check the trigger inside the pad.
      If it's not a malfunction you can look at the kick samples and if there's any decay that's shortened try bring it back closer to 99. Also in the Tone menu make sure there's no "HIPASS" on.

    • @AtTheSourceStudios
      @AtTheSourceStudios  4 роки тому +1

      Yes of course I still use it. It's awesome! I play Slate samples for recording pretty much exclusively but still use about 90% Strike samples when going through the PA. WHY would you hate the module? IMO it's the best thing about the Strike kit and is basically worth the entire cost of the kit! Thank you for watching and yes please let me know what you don't like about the module.

    What are your thoughts on the Yamaha dtx 700 module, I know it's old but has anyone gave a in depth review. I have to say that the Roland td17 snare sounds are horrendous !!!

    • @AtTheSourceStudios
      @AtTheSourceStudios  4 роки тому

      Lol the td17 snares ARE in fact probably my worst nightmare lol the "china" too.
      As for the dtx700 mmmm it's just so old man ... Yamahas have never been great with machine gunning IMO I've always heard them machine gun worse than Roland but the samples are of course better because they're real. For me.... The 700s just too old :/ I would get the newer/newest Yamaha module dtx502 sounds pretty good. It machine guns but again I feel all Yamahas current modules will.

    • @AtTheSourceStudios
      @AtTheSourceStudios  4 роки тому

      I guess it also depends how much the 700 is but yeah ahh for me it's tough to get into Yamaha because all their hardware is proprietary so it'd like starting from the ground up for me :/ (and anyone else not currently on a Yamaha kit I imagine)

    I appreciate the effort of channels like 65 drums, but calling it the god father... He wasn't even born when some of us were playing with Simmons and Alesis back in the 80s, I appreciate the effort of your channel more because you take the time to find the best possible sound sets by tweaking and you don't mind sharing them, could I find the " ideal" sounds on my own? Absolutely but I don't have that kind of time so your generosity shines here, you have no idea how many people don't share because they feel like others will copy their sound...to me the more people sound great, the more they will get inspired and the better chances of some actually decent music instead of the garbage that is popular now. Tom Araya (Slayer) said " thousands of people cannot be wrong" i disagree , yes they can, just because something is popular doesn't mean it's good.... But I digress I don't know how long you have been e drumming but your setup and sound is miles better than 65!drums, I got the drums, I got the modules, I just need to take the time and clean it up, currently torn between modo drum and superior, which would you pick and why?

    Your channel is sick Bruh. Do you ever do paid drum sessions with your kit? Im looking at picking up this kit and running Slate to do tracking for people. It's a cheaper alternative vs buying a shit Ton of expensive microphones

    • @AtTheSourceStudios
      @AtTheSourceStudios  4 роки тому +1

      Yes!! That's exactly what I do man. I also offer the full mixing and mastering too but of course if they only need drums this is one of the best ways to get a performance tracked along with fantastic sounding drums. Slate is the shit man. Fits in the mix so good and is basically mix ready even as is but if you add even a few plugins and EQ.... Lol it sounds bad ass.

    There is no perfect drumkit. I do agree with you. I play a Drum Tec Pro kit and that needed some adjustments to of course. I also depends witch module you are using, so adjustments looks logical to me. You must see it as a fine tuning. If you ask me if there are perfect drum sounds for e drums I have to say yes. I use Superior Drummer 3 those sounds are the best realistic drum samples there are. I also own Steven Slate 5 drums, but they aren't that good as Superior Drummer 3.😎👍👊✌️

    Good advice but 3 minutes to say it was kind of over kill. ;^j Nice Shout-out to 65Drums though. Just bought a Strike Pro kit. Right out of the box, no hi-hat, no snare, no kick, no RIDE!?? Two crash didn't work either. First checked the snake, one by one in a known good plug. All TRS cables were good. Then went through every port for each pad one jack at a time. Still, no hi-hat, no snare, no kick, no RIDE, etc... Called the Alesis World HQ, told them all the trouble shooting I'd already done and they shipped me a new controller in a week. (Didn't even ask for the old one back. Can you say, EXPANSION?) All good now. This video did make me think it might could be better, though. I'm new to e-drums and not really a drummer by nature, guitarist with new home studio. I've had two different kits over time but not one set up in my house for like 17 years! After two weeks of it being at 50% of a kit, I was just glad to be able to play a damn song. Time to learn my new instrument and "dial it in", as you say. Cheers.

    Also at the end of the day edrums just are not the real thing while closer than it was 10-15 years ago the dynamics , cadence and high hat are not there on any ekit I've ever played that accurately match a real kit I don't care what anyone says it's not perfect but someday it will be just not yet anyway
