To me, Bird, Jordan and Magic are the holy trinity of basketball.

Yet, if I were to pick one player, of all time, to be the first player on my team…..it would be Larry Joe Bird every time

You’re not wrong. They are unquestionably the 3 most important careers of all time.
I still think I’d start my franchise with Kareem though.

@@gavinsheridan4680 Cant go wrong with Kareem, the real points leader. All those guys have massive respect for each other. Thats the one thing that turned me off from being a Wilt fan. He never gave guys their flowers especially Kareem.

I think the best case for him is that everyone he's compared to required certain conditions to be at their best. Teams were centered around one player and set up to exploit a single player's best talents. It was the exact opposite for Bird. He changed his own play to exploit his teammates' best talents. And, he knew how to get a teammate out of slumps when they were in them. A teamnate not knocking down shots like they usually do, he will pass up easy shots for himself to make sure they got easy shots and build their confidence up. But, he knew regardless of that, he was always going to be the clear option for game winning shots and demanded the ball at those times. It wasn't ego, it was just fact and it built his teamnates' confidence that no matter what, they were never out of the game. They knew they had the chance to win no matter how the gme was going. I grew up watching mostly the MJ era and he's still my favorite, but everytime i see these videos, it convinces me more that Bird was the best. Mchale and Parrish were great, but didnt their shooting percentages reflect no contest shots that Bird created for them? Passing up easy shots to get his teammates into the game as needed but his personal stats never changed. His stats were the same no matter what role he saw himself having to morph into to win. He was still going to give you triple double stats whether he had to be the PG or the Center. All that doesnt even include his hustle which was also the same no matter his role. There was nothing better than getting to watch MJ and Scottie to me, but favorites aside, Bird was the best. Shaq is a pretty cool guy, but he harps on not being MVP too much. If you're up 4 points with ten seconds left and have to avoid giving one guy the ball to keep him off the foul line, you are not an MVP. The whistle is what makes MVPs.

6 minutes of straight full court assists in a passing video. Most players don't even have 6 minutes of total highlights. All in only 13 years

I was a Magic/Lakers fan in the '80s so of course Bird was a problem! Little did I know I'd get to watch all these compilations 35 years later. Bird was a beast.
    Great reaction man 🙏🏻

My Top-11 list is Wilt, Michael, LeBron, Kareem, Bill, Magic, Larry, Tim, Shaq, Kobe, and Dream.
With the NBA Finals completed, it seems that Jayson Tatum's career goal is to get on the Celtics' Mt Rushmore. Two spots are set in stone, and two spots are up for grabs.

Just wanted to say how handsome you are! But also my husband and I went to school with PJ Brown. He is such a great guy and I thought since your wife is a Celtics fan she would recognize him.
