Congrats!!!!! GREAT FIND!!!!
@garywatkins5533 thanks!
I keep watching your videos even though some of your casual collecting makes me jealous. Nice find
@simonerubino52 yeah, I appreciate that...I may need to change the channel name to "Unfinished Projects"...I have a massive amount that have piled up...
There is already a channel called unfinished projects.
@simonerubino52 well crap, lol...thanks for letting me know.
That is a beauty and matching NICE. Great video.
@RUSTYSURPLUS thank you sir, I appreciate it.
Here about 10 years ago I bought a Albanian barreled receiver from a guy who was trying to put it in a tapco stock but it would fit ,I got it way cheap I was able to get a stock for it but the other parts where definitely hard to find I ended up part trading it for a unfired 1955 Russian Sks …..I’m happy
@moemaster1966 very nice, the Russian ones are awesome, love my 1951 Tula.
There's a small gun store near my house with an absolutely amazing ability to attract milsurp. I bought my Albanian SKS there about 2 years ago. I still have the Chinese SKS that I paid $70 for back in the day.
Sweet! The Albanian sks is on my list!
Push the cleaning rod behind to little catch on the front, it rests behind it so it can't slide forward. Also put the bayonet at 90 degrees to pull clng rod.
The curly end of the recoil spring goes forward.
I'd be very happy with that rifle and I'd say it's in very good condition. A FFL listed one online 2 days ago near me from the same EPS import and I picked it up today because of your video. He was able to get about 10 and is the only other place that mokas that seems to have gotten some.
It's a 1978 all matching and is much more "crude" machining than your rifle but the stock is a nice gorgeous blonde. I paid 975 + tax.
@@oddone1316 nice, that was a good deal! Thanks for sharing.
I always wanted an Albanian. That is awesome.
@karlhoffman1985 thanks, me too lol!
$950 - $1150. I remember when these were about $200 in the early 2000's.
Holy shit! I'm not surprised at the price
Something like $89 in the 80’s.
I was buying Chinese SKSs for 49.99, $59.99 at gun shows 1991-92. Literally, piles of them in boxes with accessories
@@SolitaryMaverick yeah...I still regret not getting into collecting sooner...
@@electrichellion5946 when they first came into the country, that’s exactly what they were. I’ve got two of them. I got Big 5 for that. Spam cans of ammunition. We’re only $39 for spam cans of ammo to go with them
Seen two at the same gunshow at two completely different tables, both of them in absolutely beautiful shape, 1200 a pop
@TeamPaulie2520 sounds like the going rate, unfortunately, thanks for sharing.
Randomly was suggested this video. Subbed! Anyway, id never heard of the place you got this from, but i went to their website. Steep price but apparently extremely rare. I dunno. My wife might bayonet me if i blow a grand on an sks, no matter how rare it is lol.
SKS-kabob!
@krockpotbroccoli65 sweet! Glad you found me, I do have a lot of videos lol...and so...so...many unfinished projects lol.
Most of the Albanian sks I've seen are beat, clapped out lol. The example you have is pretty nice. Thanks for sharing
@mattmorrison9379 yeah same here, tha you, and thanks for watching!
It looks like the standard Chinese made norinco SKS rifles that use to be sold in NZ with a 7 round internal box magazine with no flash suppressor or spike bayonet, in the 80’s for $500. Now it’s a restricted forbidden illegal high capacity fully automatic assault rifle? Did see some beautiful Yugoslavian surplus military SKS with all the works and a light tan wood stock?
@@zbudda yeah, Im not 100% sure. I have a Yugo one as well, I just wish they had chromed like their barrels.
I bought a SKS Russian at Gun Show in 1988 paid $150!! Prices today is crazy prices!
@RonaldRiley-ju4cm I'll second that, that was a really good deal, probably seemed a little steep in the 80s though lol.
If it didn’t come with an 95 BMW M3 in red with a silhouetted black double headed eagle on the hood it isn’t Albanian enough.
Great gun , I have an Albanian bought it years ago . missing bayonet. Do you know where to buy one ?
@JonDresbach I've honestly never seen one for sale, I'd definitely keep an eye out on ebay for sure...if all else fails you could probably shorten a Chinese one and make it work...just a thought.
@ thank you really appreciate that you’ve got a great channel really like your videos
@JonDresbach you're welcome, thank you for the compliments!
Sweet.
Excellent video! Just wish I had held on to the two Russian and two Chinese SKS I picked up back in the late 1990s at $75.00 each. They were all in excellent to damn near new condition when I purchased them, and they were 100% functional shooters.
@furmanmackey5479 thanks, wow...that story just about makes me cry...
Got two Russian SKS myself. Pay a few hundred each
Man, how do you afford all this? do you buy/sell/trade most of this to at least break even?
@@glautreu8431 I work two jobs, lol
Beauty
Does look nice!
@lawrencenowinski3210 thanks!
Are Albanian cleaning rods different than other country rods?
@@SimonLArnold I'm really not sure, I'll check it with my Chinese one...
@ wondering because I need one for my Albanian!
You shouldn't have to pry the cleaning rod in. The bayonet typically has to be about halfway unfolded to allow the cleaning to slide in (or out) unimpeded and allow to head of it to fit in it's proper recess. As a sanity test, I just tried it myself. Test that, hope it works.
@@JonnyJungle77 thanks, I'll check that.
Of Course! It seems I may have sold a gun way under valued.
@@joeldorr575 oh geez...
Where were they selling these ?
Found it
Nice example.
@@cheesenoodles8316 thanks!
I think germesh is just a police gun depot where guns were stocked, the only Albanian arsenal I know of is Poliçan arsenal
@@LMAx22Nissart interesting...
Maybe that’s not the original clean rod?
@@Jason_556 that's a possibility...
@ like you said. Just trim the end on the clean rod. Such a small thing that no one will notice. I was going to go buy an Albanian Sks for 300.00 many years ago. Kick myself in the butt for not buying. Definitely have the cool factor.
the unboxing starts at 6 mins
I have a Russian sks that my friend an Air Force general gave me when he was my OIC in base safety
Watch the old Russian ones. I had one from 1956 (Tula I think.) that they sear was screwed up.
You could have it fire with just letting it go on the first round loaded. If the safety was on, it would discharge on safety release.
Guy I sold it to was a collector who wasn't going to fire it. Nice gun, in good shape. But a "B" grade or so on my scale.
@ thanks!
@fernandocastillo1972 very cool!
@@sigma80 oh wow...
Got two Russian SKS. Had a third but sold it.
I’m glad yours is nice, My “good”1970. Was more “fair” than good. Mine only had 4 matching numbers, The stock wasn’t matching, And rough. Not a happy camper, You guys be very cautious with buying sight unseen, Not doing that again. Better off spending more money on something you can see pictures of.
@KitchensMopars ouch, man I hate to hear that, I'm sure mine would have been mismatched if I hadn't paid the extra hand select for matching numbers.
Don’t know how you got a chance on hand picked? Unless you already had a deal cut with them? Because, No way they would send one like mine too you, For a review. The only choice I had was good and fair. And the good years was mostly sold out in the first 5 minutes of the sell. All I got with my gun was a “yellow post-it-note said, good and ss numbers matching”. The stock look like it was used as a hammer at on point. No more buying anything else off of this bunch ever again. I really like to see what other people got? No one else is showing off their rifle, Far as I know?
@KitchensMopars man, Im sorry to hear that. So I noticed after I had placed my order that there was a separate item on their website labeled "hand select" best I can remember. I also noticed in the newsletter email from them that for the SKSs, they were only doing hand select for matching numbers. I immediately sent them an email asking I'd I could apply it to my 1970 and 1967 sks orders; I was told I could for the 1970, but not the 1967 as they only had a handful that they initially had for sale. I ordered this with my personal email, I doubt they knew who it was going to and they didn't provide it for review, that would have been nice if they did, but I digress. My 1967 that wasn't hand select for numbers matching pretty much only has the matching parts on the barreled action, and it much rougher than my 1970. The video drops tomorrow if you're interested.
Well, My rifle is the junk bin, I get pissed off just looking at it, Much less enjoyable experience at the FFL, When they said how much did you paid for this. They laughed for hours. It never will be worth what I paid for it, It was put together with 20 other junk used up rifles. Please don’t miss lead your views, They will not get a rifle close as yours, They will get junk put together out of other junk rifles. I miss anything about pre hand selected, Much less an option on the order form? Like I said, No more buying from this outfit.
Unfold bayo then slide cleaning rod in and out.
Don't feel bad I've done that a few times myself...😂
super jealous
damn gloves for an SKS? maybe if it was east german or north korean.. cool sks though,
@mrj3108 well judging by their Facebook post I was expecting it to be slathered in cosmoline. Thanks for watching!
Agonizingly long.
this is what they got from USSR when Ak 47 was standard equipment kind like British giving Indian 410 Enfield
1966 sks..300$ 6 years ago Atlantic firearms😅
Has boxing video then dosent show unboxing.
