- Here's a chance to hear my new Vincent Akkurat 5 bass guitar.
www.vincent-bassguitars.de
It's a passive 5 string bass in the style of a precision but with a host of new features which i think add up to a really unique sound and playing experience.
I made a little beat on my Elektron Model:cycles with a reference to Teen Town chords. Patrons can download the audio to play along with from www.patreon.com/robinmullarkey.

ouhhh, love the Teen Town reference. And everything else (obviously).
Thank you for sharing ! A really nice tone!
Awesome review! Great playing and that bass is a must have for me. 🙏🏿👍🏾
Super-helpful introduction to Vincent Basses and killing playing, as always. Thank you Rob!
That bass sounds great, and Robin even better, whatta exceptionally talented musician👌🏼
Sounding good! Time to start saving!
Love the string tree / zero fret idea and the honeycomb chambering, clever.
Yeah. They really add something
Fab player, fab bass and fab strings... killer combination
Wow what an amazing sounding instrument. Mind you the sound also comes from your hands. I must admit I am a sucker for some slap on a precision bass and that little snippet was amazing. Channeling some of your inner Byron Miller.
great feel
Love it! Very P Bassy, but that low string has an almost piano-esque quality to it, reminds me of Anthony Jackson. It sounded killer on that new Zero 7 stuff by the way, glad to be hearing new music from you guys again! It’s been too long!
Yeah i agree. You can clearly hear the low notes even on a phone. Very AJ
It's crazy how when you play further back it almost sounds like there is a pickup in the bridge position.
Fantastic tone, that honeycomb chambering though... brilliant! Definitely high end, 7.9 pounds weight wise?
Very nice...this was thrown at me because I like the bass player MonoNeon...have you heard him play?
How has the fingerboard held up over time? I love olive and it sounds and looks amazing, but I've read that it's less stable than other tonewoods like ebony or maple.
Hey ! Great play and sound ! Did you reverse the pickups the A strings is with de D & G ? Thanks
wonder if that zero fret, metal on metal on metal sort of approach get this thing its such distinct sound, absolutely beautiful
and great great playing as always, rob
cheers from brazil
It always seems weird to me to have non-metal at the nut cos I want the open strings to sound the same as fretted
@@RobinMullarkey absolutely
I'm sure you can compare it to many other instruments with the background. I'm playing Xotic P, Sadowsky PJ. Being a 5 string player, it's kind of difficult to find the one. Can you compare? Or any other thoughts? I'm a little bit repelled by the lack of OBP. But I've owned some basses that had a tremendous heft to them with no active circuitry. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Rob, do you do teach bass? Could that be an idea for the future?
Hi. I teach through my patreon site. patreon.com/robinmullarkey
@@RobinMullarkey I am definitely checking it out
