RoboCain it's one of the most badass and amazing stop-motion character of contemporary cinema. Tippett did a legendary works with him, worthy heir of Harryhausen. Kershner direction was on point, but the real problem was the screenplay.
I thought direction was off tbh. Strayed too far into the cartoon vibe and away from the gritty realism of the first, and Verhoeven realised early on that you need to have very specific camera angles to avoid Robo looking 'shonky', too many times in the sequel Robo looks like a clown in a clunky suit.
I agree and it is also one of the most intimidating and scary creatures to ever appear on film and even today I sometimes have nightmares about being chased by it or locked inside some kind of storage building with it. When I saw Robocop 2 in the cinema when it came out there was many scenes in it that was truly disturbing and even today so many years later, there are still scenes that I fast forward when watching the movie.I actually have not bought the Robocop video game because you have to fight a robot Cain model in the end, that is how much that thing actually still scares me.

This movie had a lot of outstanding, talented actors that sort of became obscure after this movie. Dr. Faxx, Johnson, the Mayor, the kid that worked with Cain, the OCP attorney, Angie... All very talented; they should have become A list celebrities.
I think Faxx's anger stemmed from a deleted scene where we see RoboCop actually discover that Cain was the new subject for the RoboCop 2 project in Faxx's lab and she advised him he was obsolete when he made the discovery with Lewis.
