Fishing for Small Crappie in a Small Pond + A Disturbing Discovery

I went to this pond in search of some relatively good sized bass, but could only find crappies scattered all over the place. It wasn't a bad way to waste a little time on a beautiful late March evening though. Also busted out a popper for the first time this year and had at least one fish interested 9:24. I also stumbled upon an interesting scene (dead animals) at the 8:08 mark. What do you think is going on here? I appreciate you giving this video a view!

This looks like a great place to catch a stash of bait or some crappies for stocking a farm pond. Kind of weird to see 2 dead animals in 1 place like that.

I agree. I was wondering if maybe the park puts dead animals around here for other animals to get, but that also seems a bit weird.

I think there is an algae bloom going on. When I was fishing there in February, I saw a large, thick blob of algae right by the bridge. I haven't caught many fish there, and what fish I have caught are similar in size to those crappies.

You should definitely call fish and game. The deer might have died from chronic wasting disease. Lots of stunted crappie still better than being at work!!
