    The part where you have to clean out the oil pan after pouring the old oil in a container is definitely my favorite 😂

    Owwwww fancy intro. Cool that the box has A handle. Also, the engine looks clean as new.

    Hello.
    I have BMW e46 330xd 2002 with oem suspension.
    I have a strut mushrooming problem.
    I think to use strut reinforcement plates and strut bar, but strut mount bolts are very short.
    I see on e36 from the video these bolts are long.
    Can you tell how you did it?
    Sorry for my english. :)

      Just a set of eBay coilovers that have long bolts

    I'm actually surprised you went conventional oil. Synthetic is so cheap now Amazon synthetic is really good

    • @BlakesGarage
      @BlakesGarage  4 роки тому +1

      Havoline actually makes Synthetic and Conventional however on a old motor that you have no idea what oil was previously used it’s best to use conventional. If you switch to synthetic it usually causes leaks from the old seals and I didn’t want to add to that problem.

    Why 10w 40 and not 5w 30

    • @onboardgrge
      @onboardgrge Рік тому +1

      Manufacturer recommended, 5w-30 for winter or cold climates, 10w-40 for hot climates, it has a diagram if you still have the service manual.

    That oil container is wild

    • @BlakesGarage
      @BlakesGarage  4 роки тому

      I know I love it actually. The fact that Oil doesn’t run all the way down the side and is absorbed into the cardboard is super cool.

  • @DrSwanzy

    It looks like you made the mistake to add the O-Ring at the base of the filter cap. You are actually supposed to replace the O-Ring inset to the threads. People have oil leak issues doing it your way, check out what I'm talking about. Maybe I'm misinformed?

  • @NellyEIEI
    @NellyEIEI 2 роки тому +3

    Actually, it's not a good idea to go over a little at all. That's how you blow seals. Too much oil pressure = bad things

    • @BlakesGarage
      @BlakesGarage  2 роки тому +4

      If you track a E36 you know that everyone does this. These engines suffer from oil starvation under high G if you don’t overfill them. I will not make more oil pressure. It just keeps oil at the pickup so you don’t starve the engine. If you drive normal sure just keep it at factory level but this is well know in the Motorsports scene.

    Box is ok. But the 2qt marks are inaccurate compared to a plastic jug. When FedEx destroys the boxes in shipping, good luck using any of the features for spout, handle and measure. Only good if you need 6 qt fill and want to save a buck
