as always, a great work, agadmator. I remember seeing this game way back there and how Kasparov completely threw it away after a typical opening demolition from his part. Thanks again for this and many other great games that you are posting !
So what's the idea here? He was thinking about "66" because at 0:27 he had prepared the line "ended in a draw after 66 moves." So you can see he played the "66" move too early at 0:12 and as a result he blundered the "66" piece.

I'm watching this video again after several days. I never took into consideration, that on 0:12, you said the tournament took place in 1966. In fact, at that time Anand wasn't even born. Actually, it's 1996.
Lichess's Stockfish says instead of Qxa1, Nc6+ and the Black Queen falls. If Nxd6 Kf8, Qxa1 and both Black Rooks are vulnerable. If Black waits until c4 to play Bxa1, yes White lost the exchange but Stockfish says it's still better than the mess after Kasparov's Nc3.
It loses to ...bh6 (traps the queen). 15. Qh5 does not help as ...bd2+ 16. K×d2 r×h5 - white lost the queen for a bishop and a pawn, this should be winning for black 😉
#suggestion hey agadmator love your vids. Could you please show a video of a game between Kenny Solomon vs Fabiano Caruana of the 2017 chess world cup. I am South African and Kenny is our first grandmaster. Although he lost to Caruana but Id still like to see a game from Kenny. Please keep up the amazing videos :)
I wonder what if kasparov himself would see your copying reaction of him!!!...very nice man! One more thing, when you said "they drew the the 1st blitz game with 66 moves, it sounds like they drew the 1st blitz game with 6 moves"!!
In the original blunderface video, Garry’s eyes widen just before Anand plays his move. It’s the look a man has when he suddenly realizes he will be judged for his sins. Not a good feeling.
So you may be wondering about the move "1966." So, clearly this is an inaccuracy at least, the engine calls it a blunder but, okay. So what's the idea here? On move 12 (0:12) Antonio played the move "1966." Well if you analyze several more moves, you will see that Antonio was preparing the line on move 27 (0:27) "the game ended in a draw after 66 moves." So you can see here that at move 12 the standard line in this position is "1996" but Antonio was calculating too far ahead in his variation and played the move "1966." Although this was an inaccuracy, this line has never been played before so may want to consider this a novelty in the game.
@0:08 Shouldn't it be 1996 and not 1966? I mean, Viswanathan Anand was born in 1969 (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viswanathan_Anand) lol... Anyways great video as always! :)
