Hey everyone! We wanted to add some interesting context to this song: 1. This is the first time Earthside has let a guest vocalist fully write all of the melodies and lyrics. 2. AJ’s lyrics are very personal and candid, writing from the perspective of his father and the trials in life he faced. AJ’s father was Jamaican so we hear a Jamaican accent and vocabulary in the song. We’re honored that AJ would write such a personal story to our music and deliver it with emotion. Given how unique it was, we decided to add it to our 2nd album instead of making it a stand-alone single.
For a genre that tends to favor technicality over emotion, Earthside are masters at offering their immense songwriting and playing abilities in service to the big big feels.

Ive veen friends with Morgan Rose of Sevendust for decades and Fire From The Gods was opening on a bill back 2018. Mo and I were at the bar, and this gentle black giant of a man walked up smiling and said, "Hey, Im AJ" . The man is a true sweetheart. Very kind man. God bless you AJ.

"It's unlike anything we've ever released before!" When I saw the thumbnail, my first thought was that it's under 6 minutes lol. Excellent track though
That said, I have the chance to do the deep dive on first listen today as opposed to normally giving it a surface listen first because I had a queued so that it would play on my Soundsystem when I was ready. I intend to listen to it a few more times before I make my final judgment but I love it it’s a cool song and also the drumming in this song is spectacular..
Stands with the best metal grooves out there, and a standout tight experience. Yet subtly, just so subtly, the Earthside full soundscape skips around the outer rims of my hearing. I'd bloody like to know how you guys feel out those soundscape edges. I could practically point to where a sound comes from, and its far more than left/right-center. also a fun fact: upside-down crosses are not satanic symbols except in Hollywood. I wasn't a fan of this during my first listen. I think that's because I was listening through my phone speakers while my laundry was running in the background. Now that I listen through decent speakers, it's very good. :^)

Once again, you guys have proven that there is more than one way to interpret music. The thing that I love about Earthside is that no song of yours ever sounds the same and each one carries its own message even if it’s instrumental. And with this one, there are multiple ways to interpret it because on the one hand, you have the upside down crosses which could be viewed as anti-Christian, which it appears that some people have done in this comment section. But then you have the way that the lyric is in the song it is meant to be a quote to tell a larger story not a jab at Christianity. So I think it is just the opposite.. but then that’s just my thoughts. I think the whole idea is to inspire.. rather than bring everyone down.
