  • So what makes a lunchbox better than another? There is no answer to this in my opinion. The thing is, we all have different mouths to feed, at different ages, with different likings to different foods. Don't stress out over it. As long as your child has food and you are trying to keep them growing strong and healthy, then does it really matter what box the food came out of? No.
    Here is a breakdown of my thoughts on the 4 main brands I currently use....Sistema, Bentgo, Yumbox and Planetbox!

    The Omie definitely does keep foods hot, I dont know about cold food. Her teacher does have to open it for her sometime but they eat in their classroom so that's no problem.
    As far as the Planetbox lunch bag, I bought the GoGreen lunch bag and its huge! The Planetbox Launch fits in it with snacks, ice pack, and utensils. There is no space for a water bottle. I put my daughters Takeya 18oz cup in the side pocket of her backpack so that doesnt bother me. My kids guzzle water so lunch bags never hold their larger water bottles.

    I have been using the Yumbox with the Planetbox bag for 6 years now and it’s a wonderful combo! Enough room for a drink bottle inside, the pocket is perfect for a flat ice pack and the utensil strap is wonderful. Everything in one durable bag. Our bag is still like new after 6 years and we’ve gotten two years out of each yumbox before the rubber started to loose its seal.

    We used those pouches for smoothies. I would make smoothies and fill the pouches. I would freeze them if you put a frozen one in the lunchbix, they will defrost by lunchtime.

      That's how I felt too and couldn't find a video for myself. So I figured it would help and then once you see this video, then the lunch videos make a little more sense

    Love our Yumbox Panino! Still going strong after maybe 3 yrs meanwhile the Bentgo Kids broke this year. Their customer service is awesome though and they sent me a replacement. Also have the Yumbox Mini and it is small, only use that as a complement to Thermos lunches. I recently got the new Bentgo Snack and that is SUPER SMALL! Smaller than the Yumbox Mini! May return that one. Wouldn't mind a Planetbox but the Rover and Launch are so big and won't fit in any of the lunch bags we have and I'm not buying another so I ordered the Shuttle (haven't received yet). Also, they aren't leakproof and I feel like I need that with the larger bento's. Love the multi-vitamin idea! I'm going to start doing that!

      I have many videos showing food inside each of the boxes on my channel. Here is the link to the playlist of those videos. Hope that helps!

    How did you like the bentgo chill? I just returned ours my daughter and I had trouble closing it an it sealing properly. Which I was sad bc I love the idea of the ice pack built in.

    • @littlemonstereats
      @littlemonstereats  2 роки тому

      We like it so far. I have to say much trickier to close than the original bentgo. My son is 7 though, so maybe it's easier for him since he is older? But I agree. Definitely needs practice compared to the other boxes

    So glad to find this review! I know this video was made awhile..but what would you recommend for a 4 year old to use..am thinking of getting planet box because of the durability factor (but I do pack her lots of fruit which may leak)..but just in case you do see this, I would like to get your thoughts on planet box for a toddler..thanks!

    • @littlemonstereats
      @littlemonstereats  Рік тому

      I totally agree with you and the Planetbox hesitation. I like the boxes because they are durable, doesn't wear out or lose color, and looks nice with the customizable magnets. If I were to pack something that could potentially leak, I use additional containers to hold it. The boxes usually come with one dipping container, but you can purchase additional ones or find something that could fit. Obviously another expense to the already expensive box. Try waiting for the sale weeks, as they usually have several throughout the year, especially before school starts!

    My 9 and 7 years old enjoyed their Yumbox Panino since Kindergarten. They are light, decent portions and easy for Mom to clean. However, when I packed yogurt, it’s fine but not for apple sauce. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @littlemonstereats
      @littlemonstereats  2 роки тому +1

      Applesauce is really tricky! So I used to use the Squooshi bags and filled it up myself, since there were some recalls in the past regarding mold in the pouches. But now that my son is older he is able to just peel open a cup and eat it from there. Putting into the lunch box is risky, but out of all the brands we use, I feel like the Bentgo has the best seal.

    I’ve seen tons of videos looking for answers about if it keeps food warm or cold. And no one seems to mention that. Like if we do Mac and cheese or nuggets. Are they gonna be cold when they get to lunch???

    • @littlemonstereats
      @littlemonstereats  Рік тому +1

      So I have tested the thermos funtainer for the warm foods and the boiling water trick does help it keep the food warm for at least 4 hours (just in time for lunch!). As for cold, the bentgo kids chill keeps the food cool until lunch time as well. Try testing them at home before school starts. That way you can see if it works for you!

    How long does the freezer pack of the Bentgo chill stay cold?

    • @littlemonstereats
      @littlemonstereats  Рік тому +1

      I usually leave the tray in the freezer up until the morning before school. My son has lunch midday and it still stays cool. I test it myself for work and felt like it was good for 4-5 hours at least

  • @princesskaitlinhazelwood4703

    I stopped boiling water for the thermos e chase my sin had so much trouble opening g them. He said I stays warm without the water

    Will both the rover and the planet box with five compartments fit in the planet box lunchbox? I'm thinking of moving my older girls up to the rover and giving my younger boys their planet boxes, but I know the boys will not want their unicorn planet box bags.

    • @littlemonstereats
      @littlemonstereats  Рік тому +1

      so the Rover has 5 compartments and the launch has 3. Both fit in the planetbox lunchbag in this video. The bag itself only fits the box and maybe a slim snack in the pocket on the inside. The outside pocket is decent size.
      Planetbox made two new bags. a lunch sack and tote. I love them both. My son particularly loves the tote because it's like a mini backpack! Look into those new ones

      @@littlemonstereats thank you so much for taking time to reply! My older girls have the rover then and the planet box bags. It's great to know that the launch will fit the bags we already have when we move up to a the deeper box. I will look into the totem for the boys. Thanks again!

    I wish you would have tried to but the planet box in the bentgo bag. I will assume it doesn’t fit.

      So unfortunately the planetbox in my experience fits nothing unless it's really big. So I had to resort to purchasing planetbox bags. They have 2 new styles this year and I think both are super cute! Get it from the site during their sales. It's worth it if you own the lunchbox
