I just finished up the project. Overall, great guide but this guy actually missed a minor step that allows the Xenon's to turn high when you "flash-to-pass" or enable high beams. If you only connect the ground wire, then you won't have the xenons increase during either of those.
Edirty, i have tried this on my car. i found that you also need to connect the high beam + to the Xenon high/low beam switch + in order to switch high/low beam for the xenon. it really works. In addition, i found the warning only appears when the first time plug in the headlight. it seems for the second time its gone. Just share my experience with you.
It really was as simple as just wiring in the second ground. Then your ballasts work. As far as actually wiring in the adaptive part, we haven’t gotten that far
Doing this same upgrade. Unlike you my Halos do not turn on. My turn signal work and my high beam. But my Halos do not. I need to find someone with Xenon from the factory to see if it's the headlights.
I have some experiences in the 2007 BMW 328i sedan I found used adaptive xenon headlight from the 2007 BMW 335i sedan. I try plugged in but only the halo and turn signal working low beam doesn’t work and my High beam stays On With the knob in the “0” position with the car ON. FRM module needs to be coded or programmed no idea I trying the INPA tool, FRM module is okay But it shows yyyyyyy but another module has VIN in it.
My local shop charges me $746 for nothing. I showed him you guys video and he did exactly what you guy did but low beam comes On And it’s flicker then goes off again. The shop guy said somehow my headlight not getting 12v and also suggest me to code frm module. I was gonna punch the guy for charging just for wiring and I help him with your video. Idk what to do now. I can’t take it to the dealership because they don’t do halogen to xenon conversation. I guess I need to find someone who can code my car remotely.
Dang man! Sucks they charged you! Also check your hid ballasts. My right one would turn on then off almost immediately. It was a bad ballast. Do both headlights do this?
@@edirty9 oh I see, did you have the adaptive modules plugged into the light? I bought two LCI lights for my halogen car... don’t have the modules though so unsure whether they’ll go into fail safe or not
Have the same old headlights as you did and I just bought the halos that you put on as well. Would that mean i have to rewire everything like you did too ?
Hey! Nice tutorial! I am a bit confused with the wiring. Inside the connector I have a metalplate of a sort. Is it the same at your connector? Because I tried wiring just as you did and just put the second brown cable into the second hole onto the "metalplate", but nothing happened. Still just the halos and blinkers. What do you think?
Who has flickering, on a start-up car, and on the ignition everything is ok - change the FRM unit to FRM II XE, he and code, (adding the option $522) This video only says which wire to throw for the low beam (although you also need to change the wires for the high beam) Good luck to everyone❤
Piggybacking of this question I recently upgraded to xenon on my bmw 128i and I added the extra ground but when I hooked up both headlight they started blinking nonstop both of them. How can I resolve this ?

Wiring is easy. I'm having issues. My low beams turn off when I turn the engine on. I might need coding. If you look on forums some have this issue.

Hey! Because the xenons were adaptive, did you ever have issues with the light flopping around in there? Did you ever get it coded?
Never coded them. They just sit in a failsafe position but you can still adjust them

I used a oem pin for the second connector. Did you do the same or simply run a wire?

And unless coded the adaptive won’t work so you’ll just have to adjust the ballast with the two provided adjustment holes

Interesting, one of mine only worked when i kept driving. Turned out both of the bulba were bad, i replaced them and they worked good
