My controller audio socket works fine, but if you wiggle it, it's going to sound bad and static. What I did was bend the pin connector outward and use double-sided tape to secure it in place. Just make sure the tape does not touch the pin, or it will misalign the pin touching point.

I just did this swap and it didn’t work for me, thought it was the MB until I put a different spare in. Turns out the jack I bought was broken/faulty. So if you’re trying this make sure you read reviews or buy two just in case one doesn’t work.

Will this work on the Xbox series X controllers, the new GEN pacifically?

@@scrapped_cutman8852 I think it's the same process but you may need a different part. I haven't tried it with the Series controller so I can't say for sure.

Do you know if this it is the same for the elite series 2 controller? I know the process of taking it apart due to previously fixing the contact point for the triggers? Would hate tear it down and realize I can't fix it due to not having solder

Hello there, I got a question. I bought a xbox series s in December, and since a few months ago, sometimes when I plug in my headsets to play, I get no audio, very VERY low audio, or I do get audio, but only one side of my headsets gets it. This happens randomly too (like today for example). But everytime this happens, all I have to do is disconnect and reconnect my headsets, and all problems are solved. At first I thought that my headsets were the problem, so I bought new ones. However, the issue still continues randomly and, as I said before, all I have to do is disconnect and reconnect my headsets. But why does this happen? Is something wrong with my controller? (My controller has never fell down to the ground, hit my controller, or anything like that, im really carefull) Thank you for your time and I hope you reply soon :)

Hard to tell but it sounds like one of the contacts might not be getting a good connection

Did this, still no sound. Think I have a bad board?

Maybe. I need to learn more about this as I've tried it since and not had any luck at times.

@@JoeBleeps My guess would be the contacts on the board need to be cleaned. At least that is what I will be trying next after replacing the jack didn't work on my elite. The downside of it not being soldered is it makes for a pretty lousy connection between the jack and the board. So any bit of dirt or corrosion on the pads could theoretically screw up it up.

@@nerdstrangler4804 I find the solder free connection to be more trouble than it should be too. Far too much margin for error

@@JoeBleeps Well I decided to crack her open again. Turns out it wasn't the audio jack at all but my DA7212-01UM2 chip was fried. Might try to replace it at some point, But I don't really use controller audio so I am not in a hurry.
Not sure if this is a common problem with these chips, but I think they are only in the elite series 1 and the first revision with a 3.5mm audio jack.
