Huh. I'm always both confounded & impressed when figures like this just suddenly appear on the market, seemingly out of nowhere. I mean, I try to keep well informed & up to date with as many new Transformers-related products as possible, but every now & then there'll be something that escapes my attention. This is one such release & I can't help but feel a little excited by it - it looks like a decent enough figure. Thanks so much for bringing it to my attention & for your reviews in general - your videos have been a consistently reliable go-to resource in helping me make informed purchases & I can't tell you just how much I appreciate the quality & honesty in your reviews. I do hope you'll keep it up for a good long time to come!
I understand that Fanstoys is a superior toy, but aesthetically, Robot Hero looks much better in my opinion over Fanstoys. Especially the head sculpt, and body proportions, and color tone.
You did a good job of hand placement to keep our eyes off the focus of the biggest issue this figure has from the open & play version. The chest still does not tab in securely at all. Maybe a little more friction due to a layer of paint but Its still a floppy mess. Once you start to pose the arms the chest pops out gun falls out. On the upside the color scheme is much nicer and the head sculpt is the only real improvement Robot Hero made to this mold. IMO of course.
I really wish you had a quick comparison of the original version (which I have) vs this new one. It had really impressed me when it came out. Especially for the price point
I mean, the ult modes are a bit stubby but I kinda like it. Wish someone would do a 3P with a decent car mode though. Would be good to see a rocket car like the original toy.
There was DX9's "Carry" & "Terror" for Rodimus & SG Rodimus, but it's way past time for a new iteration. Also, for the Legends sized space, Mech Fans Toys did a Rodimus AND a Hot Rod.
@@BensKOllectables I was gonna comment on the 0:29 "Airwoffl" one, but that 5:47Jobby(Toasty) shocked me as well! >< Do more similar BS like these time to time, Ben! Also was a big fan of the Open and Play mould and now with the paint and fixed chest tabbing it has become worthy contender right behind FT and XTB!
I don't want be nasty but I don't get what people like about the Fanstoys version. It's to bulky, not clean enough the face is the best but I think that its hyped like most FT are. The Xtransbots looks worse than this Robot Hero version I think. Ocular Max in my opinion looks miles ahead of the FTs version. And more like the movie.
I agree with you, I've never liked the aesthetic of the Fanstoys version. I'm sure it's built great and well painted, but of all the Springers I like FT bot mode the least.
Shrinking the cockpit is really an unnecessary complication. In real life, helicopter cockpits are always wider than car front seats. Except for some specialized attack helicopters. This obsessive necessity to stay accurate to G1 is limiting creativity and progress. When in fact, G1 design is just a product of the severe limitations of 1980s technology resulting into a lot of ridiculous compromises.

Dude when you flipped the box and said "that's different" I fell off my chair 😂
We need more companies making MP scaled cheap figures XD
same as Rollout Agent Meister, that Jazz is awsome, just fist aren't the best but the overall is amazing

OMG that 8bit Airwolf chiptune sure brings back memories. Hahahha.
Smooth transformation, isn't it. Really nice option as well. 👍🏻
Nice work finding that 80s airwolf font!
Loved airwolf
But how many Jan Michael Vincents does it come with? Is there enough for every sector?
Ft is the worst one looks like a green bat mobile

That's the rebrand of open play big spring
Hey is that jobby the hong who's pop on the screen 5:48 haha!😄
Swivel man
It's unfortunate the 3rd party companies won't go crazy making a decent Rodimus Prime

EXCUSE ME!? DX9 CARRY, YOU PHILISTINE!!!
Awesome review Ben! I loved how "Swivel Man" popped up like "Toasty" from MK. LOL Keep the content coming!!!
Lol glad someone got the reference

Where did you get this? i see them on ebay for £70 for 100+ elsewhere
Do those accessories let it down, wish they'd painted them
Nice. I've been looking forward to this review. Thank you ben
How is it different specifically from the open play version? Also how much is it?
Colour , better face sculpt and slightly tighter joints on the chest panel , he’s $77
Is that you Ben popin' out of nowhere in the right corner 😅at 5:48
That’s swivel man AKA Jobby :)
Don’t see any transformers on your website. Can we purchase anything from you?
Thanks for the nice review, might get him, but i wouldnt transform him much hmmm

This is what I love about the fandom bud , we are spoilt for choice :)

This looks nice. But honestly, the number of screw holes (especially in the forearm) is kinda off-putting. Still, a great review, Ben.
Mid thigh rotation joint ? Oh come on.
This is going to sound weird, but your voice helps me to fall asleep at night. Maybe you should do those sleep meditation videos?
Lol yeah maybe :)
Who is currently selling this figure?
SHOWZSTORE
I always feel like Springer car modes get neglected. Robot and copter modes look good, car is much less cartoon-accurate.
Would watch Airwaffle.
100%
An okay figure especially for the price

It looks alright in my opinion
Better than his last official release IMO.
@@seanjenkins2188 Definitely. I agree
@@axelgrease69 But how is he compared to Ocular Max Saltus I wonder?
@@seanjenkins2188 he looks better than saltus
