Ok, I own a Kona N Premium (basically the same car with a lift kit), but no way the i30N Premium will be as nice to live with as a daily. Yes, it's fun as hell, but it's still an econobox like the Civic or Corolla. The BMW will have better material and build quality and just feel overall like a more expensive product. This isn't targeted at the same customer base.
@@paulklp8262 yes I do agree, these two cars will be targeted at 2 different people, and BMWs do feel posh but kind of a fake posh inside anyway, with my experiences with my parents BMWs constantly breaking down, and my Hyundai just trotting along without a care in the world, I don’t think a BMW especially a new one is something to own, and hey I know Hyundai may not be the most reliable thing, but with the $20k savings can go towards the mechanics 🤣
I thought that one of the main reasons that the 1 series went to FWD was to gain more rear passenger space, but it looks like that's not even the case. So they basically just went FWD to cut costs and cheat people who don't know any better in to buying the BMW badge. This is why I'll never buy German cars again
The F40 (first front wheel drive version) was a huge improvement over the F20/F21 versions, in regards to rear passenger space. The current F70 is an incremental improvement for rear passenger space over the F40. It is not great, but it is livable. Having owned an F21 and currently own an F40, we can't wait for the arrival of our new F70.
Does BMW 1 series ever look at the competition!?.. Do they ever say, mmh let's look over and see what audi and Mercedes hatchback designers are up to. This thing is not nice to look at. It's a farcry from their 3 series 😭
People who whinge about the price of new cars, over their predecessors, haven't they heard of inflation? This car has so much more included tech than it predecessors, that with the price adjusted for inflation, it is actually better value.
wow 85k wtf what happened to BMW, did you run out of money? looks like a chinese car, steering wheel is like the MG lots of plastic and scratchy surfaces ashamed on the final car, plenty of competition out there i would consider before buying this car.
I'm just happy to see colours on car rather than usual white, black, grey and silver. beautiful colour on this car.
Would rather an i30N premium with sunroof and $20k worth of mods

@@paulklp8262no he was right. I would also take an i30N. Great quality and FAR cheaper.
This!

Or $20 k in the bank
It’s nice of BMW to let the retired GWM designer Pen car for them!
I cant unsee that m135 badge now. 😅
it looks like a cheap badge someone bought online to make their 118i an M car 😂
This car looks great! If I'm standing 15 miles away, squinting and also blind
🎯🎯🎯

It went to FWD biased because it can platform share with Mini.
Any possibility of a review of the 118?
No privacy glass at that price point is absolutely 13:44 appalling!😢
Still, like your review lads.😊
Why do people even care, you should be tinting all windows, especially in a climate like ours.
@Audios81 because the tint film is inferior to glass colouring. Standard in Europe, so it's shows how we get less for more.💲💲💲
When are you guys reviewing the updated 11th gen civic hybrid
Love it… can’t wait for mine in two weeks
My Kia carnival has outboard heated seats in the second row… just saying
Basic 118...that's incorrect, isn't it , the range will start with 120 for the new model.
Take the badges off and from the front 3/4 view looks like a ford focus
Side view is Subaru Crosstrek 😅
For the same money you can have a Supra wtf Is BMW thinking.
BMW Crosstrek anyone?
Nah.... think I'll hang on to my 140.
Looks like BMW is turning the tables and pulling a "chinese clone" of a ford focus but purple with some munted kidney grill.
so that's 29,990 USD?
The reflection on the side mirror is a deal breaker
You are paying for the snobby badge
That's a very interesting Peugeot 406 custom or maybe Mazda 3.

So expensive 😮
