This is helping me wrap my head around the powerful potential of the White Rectangular Partition, which is the thing that intimidates me the most as a baby wanna-be ffxiv designer. Thank you
This whole time i was just enjoying the Video, kinda happy that i don’t have to put hours into recreating this and trying to make it work ‘cause i‘m pretty happy with the way my place looks right now. And then i saw the bedroom at the end. 😭😂 ughh this is absolutely amazing i wish they would finally make interior design like this a little easier. I’m obsessed with your channel, you’re amazing at what you do☺️
Ever since I played FFIX many years ago, I've always wanted to design my own home in Burmecia, the realm of eternal rain. I like that you can customize your own home in FFXIV, but the LACK OF TOOLS, is what kills my motivation to customize my apartment. I can only dream of the day SE fixes these issues to make customizing your house easy like other games. I'm truly amazed at how you created your rainy day window, but I can't glitch items together without wanting to pull my hair out! Kudos on your incredible work, Ashen!
There is a very small gap between the window and the wall above and below. Never overlap with walls. The window then sticks to the wall and pops out. :D
@@floridblade they’ve explained this a million times before, it has to do with players placing an item down, which sends data to the server, and saves it in its place and it’s a very complicated process especially when the server has to differentiate removing items from an inventory and placing it onto coordinates. Thays why items are capped to 200 for certain houses, and there’s a reason why we can’t place certain items in certain places because it can Fucj with server information, it’s a lot more complex than we think it is, so yes it’s simple in your privileged brain but if it was easy to implement they obviously would’ve done it lol
@@georgewashington7982 It's really not, everything has an X,Y,Z location saved. You can literally just have a button bound to control the z-axis and remove all restrictions from items. If having hundreds of houses glitched to hell with all of the occlusion that needs to happen is not a problem neither is allowing people to control the z-axis via a mouse scroll wheel.
@@georgewashington7982 thats litteraly what you can do with the quicklauncher, im not using it , but i think about it, i saw someone had walls sticking into the floor in the basement, which you normally cant do.
When you have your window selected, make sure that the orange reticle isn't going to overlap with your wall. Wall items will try and magnet to walls, but by creating an open space, you can free float it. The orange reticle is like a natural "hitbox" for furniture, and it's often in the middle of the item but in a Cracked Arch Window case it's at the bottom, so it needs to be higher than your wall a tiny bit!
hello i would like to ask a question i have a house and i really found this glitchy stuff really hard so like just a question do u do house designs for other people ?

As someone who is just now diving into the more in depth housing stuff, after you leave editing mode would the grey partition still be floating down in the base floor?
Not with this particular technique. As you saw, they floated many things from the floor below. This is not to say you might not find an alternative way to frame the window, but this exact design would not be feasible in an apartment.
Honestly the fact that it requires so much patience to do these things absolutely sucks when you have ADHD!!! I am sooo creative and I can spend days on something like The Sims creating beautiful homes but I struggle with my ffxiv home because it's just so, so, SO frustrating and I find myself getting upset and angry way too often! :(
I love watching these know I will never have the patience to try any of these masterpieces.
best part of the video is that "Song of Storms" is playing in the background tbh. But obviously thanks for the guide/video
Ty! I was going to ask. Love the music 🎶

Patience is key with housing! With practice and patience you'll get it in no time!

That is soooooooooo coooooooool never thought of using the shower for rain 10/10 GREAT idea.
I wish they could just let us place anything anywhere..
Right? It's not like a huge thing at all and technically it's just simple as hell....

You make this all look so easy 😭
I hear that song of storms. people of culture as well
Thank you DIv for the guide and Ashen for the beautiful design. Such a tranquil and informative video.
these videos are so relaxing even though i'm too lazy to do this lol
Is there a video tutorial somewhere that shows how you position items behind stuff using the riviera shelf?
I'm trying so hard but my window keeps clipping onto the wall infront of it..

Just when I've finished my room too 😭
what is the song!
How do you do this..? I've been trying to get it to work and it's not working.. is there anything I'm missing?
What is the background music? Is that an orchestrion?
Music: Song of Storms - Game: Zelda Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask
It's Lily Pichu's version of Song of Storms. We have credit and a link in the description
@@HGXIV Thanks for the reply! Here I thought I could get this orchestrion in my house LOL
How do you prevent the shower stand and rectangular walls from snapping back down to the floor? Do they just have a nonexistent minimum snap height?
It's basically nonexistant! The shower stand only has to be roughly 4 Riviera Wall Shelves high, from the ground to stay up in the air.
@@HGXIV Ah perfect, tysm! I'll have to give this a try :]
@@xSolarity Good luck! You got this!
I love all this stuff but it just sucks we have to use 452 items for one pretty window lol!
Hopefully we'll have houses one day with 452 slots lol

It will if you properly rotate everything to 'save' it into place!
anyone knows the name of the song used in this video?
song of storms from legend of zelda: ocarina of time
this is stunning! i’m very new to housing designs, would this be possible in an apartment or no?
Not with this particular technique. As you saw, they floated many things from the floor below. This is not to say you might not find an alternative way to frame the window, but this exact design would not be feasible in an apartment.
@@pinkpugilist gotcha, gonna have to play around with things then. thank you!!
@@calcifer143 We do have the window partitions now, of course, that could use a techique of a gray wall color behind them, and the showers between
I am a rocket scientist, and this looks hard to do.
