- UPDATE These have been working great for PEX but they will not cut 1-1/2" PVC. They only cut up to 1-1/2 OD (outer diameter) . 1-1/2" nominal PVC is about 2 inches OD. Live and learn....
I bought these on ebay for about 7 bucks shipped but they did not work when I got them. A simple repair. They were listed as: All Steel PEX Pipe Tube PVC Tubing Cutter Hose Ratchet Style Up to 1-5/8"

My spring was put in backwards! It was probably the wrong spring for mine because when I put it in the other way - it doesn't look right - but it works! It would not rachet before I did this.
