The stronger my glutes (and abs) are, the happier my lower back is. I damaged a disc during a mountain bike accident some years ago - I never thought I'd squat again. I got started on hip thrusts, RDLs, split squats ,McGill big 3 and clam shells and I was able to return to full squatting strength.
me too! Been struggling with it for quite some time but i never really knew what it really was and tbh i still dont but his videos give great tips in order to be able to find out what could be the issue
hi. you meant sciatic nerve pain? If yes I am with this thing. I needed to go to the hospital anda now 3months later still its being a problem (although less pain). My problem its in the right leg. What did help you?
You should try the Mckenzie Method. It fixed my sciatica after only a few weeks of doing it. I had bad sciatica for 8 months due to 3 herniated lower discs and im now pain free and deadlift again in the high 500s.
I have been focusing on all of the glute and core stability exercises on this channel. My long sleeping glutes are now awake. I can even feel them working on the rower!
Rebuilding Milo is the best money I have ever spent. Imagine being able to rehabilitate your body at home by yourself without spending any money besides on the book itself. Thank you Squat University for getting my body back right.
@@ZurditaDinamita Personally I would recommend it to every human on earth that has an interest in just being healthy. The explanation of anatomy (muscles, bones, joints, tendons etc) and how every part of the body functions, both individually, and as a combined unit, is phenomenal. I don't think there is a better book out there in that regard. At least not one that I've found. It's both simple enough that someone who knows nothing about the human body can completely transform their understanding, and yet advanced enough that experienced weightlifters or active fitness lovers don't feel bored or read redundancy. It's the perfect balance. I bought the book last year when it was on sale so that was nice, but my recommendation is buy the damn book. Even if it's not on sale, it's well worth the price. It's a small price to pay for a lifelong investment in knowledge that every person should have.
Seven years ago I had an injury. Did heavy deadlifts and was fine. But the next day I was climbing up the stands of a stadium (imagine like tall stairs) and my back just killed me. Couldn't move. I was left with chronic pain for six years. It went away only when I started training glutes seriously.
I subscribed this channel long time ago but i still havent seen a video wich helps me. I did slide on ice at 2003/05 & i hurt my lower back but i didn't pain everyday until 3 years ago i did MRI & DR, told me that my spine moved away 2mm right where is attached to the pelvis now i am taking pain meds and waiting for a viideo to come up which helps me!
You may want to see a chiropractor AND a physical therapist in person for that issue. Videos are great but an in person appointment is the best way to go.
I’ve been doing Pilates for just 30-31 minutes a day and it’s incredible how much it’s improved my mobility, I feel my muscles burning even when resting and it’s toning my body bit by bit. I tried this out and I feel my glutes working very well I isn’t realize how much strength I was building
As a 32 y.o. female who got so out of shape that my neck, shoulders, middle and lower back were always in pain, I can indeed confirm, your arse keeps your back in line.
I've always had success for lower back pain by doing situps. Weak abs puts more strain on the lower back to stabilize that core. I'll try this next time. Always up to try new things.
Ohhhh, it's a type of muscle paralysis... and concentrating isolation, kinda wakes it up. But... what causes the mind to forget the affected muscles... too much activation on the opposite side or nearby muscles? But what causes that? I mean other than injury ...or is stress an injury?
Hey, I have a question: how to position my hips in a bridge? Hips tilted towards the ceiling orr...I am unsure how to name the other position 😢 When I did a bridge today (on my heels only) I felt a pain in my low back. Keeping the hips without the tilt upward did not hurt. Thank you in advance!
Could you give suggestions for people with general spondilosis. I've been given a 'No, no!' for any weights training by my neurologist with the diagnosis and am symptom free with power yoga but want to do more. Also have scoliosis, lordosis, kifosis, lol, but I am not giving up. Thanks!
I get back pain while doing situps. My back is the limiting factor never my abs. Doing situps on the delcine bench really helps and also using the ab slide machine where you put ur knees on the pad and slide forward and backwards. Wondering what this means. Maybe ill try to glute test then do situps if i need to do the clam exercise
Not all back pain. Typically, lower back pain can be attributed to tight glutes while px experienced higher can be caused but ql stiffness as well as other back muscles and even some anterior movers.
Your body probably sinks into the bed sometimes causing that. I get the same issue unless I sleep with a pillow under my hips. I think squat university has a video about sleeping different ways.
Question ❓🙋... What if you can not perform a single glute bridge? Are there any exercises that I can do prior to getting a glute bridge done successfully?
You can stretch out the other leg or put it on a stepper, so it can support the bridging leg. Or single leg deadlifts with no weight, with fokus on the hinge in the hip worked for me.
Do you have any good exercises I could do for right leg meralgia paresthetica and Coccydynia? Any tips would be super helpful. Struggling so bad with chronic pain of it all since child birth. Seems to be one issue after another.
Do 2 legged bridges. If that gets easy, then do 2 legged bridges to lift the hips, then slowly lift one foot of the ground, then switch to the other foot. Like your marching while in a glue bridge position.

you give me hope! currently working on getting back to who I was before my bulged disc through core strengthening
I've been watching your videos religiously since i developed sciatica last year.

I started doing the locked clamshell move as a warmup before squats, deadlifts and running and it definitely wakes my glutes up to get them working!

I second this 110%. Rebuilding Milo, in addition to Aaron's UA-cam channel is an absolute goldmine.

So you choose the most inefficient ab exercise that strains the lower back? My guy you had back discomfort not pain
I developed sciatica watching these clips

Prolonged sitting probably
I've had back pain for 20+ years and only discovered a couple of years ago one of my glutes was the problem.

Whole chain needs to be addressed glute exercises alone won’t fix back pain, check tthe foot pelvis and rib cage position and rotation
Is there anything out there on the clam or locked clam
