Outstanding pick-ups as ever, but I am most pleased that you used a 609 to record the sound! That mic is definitely now on my shopping list! Both rigs sound great, though I dig the PAF a bit more.
Lindy, I sure loved hearing those Allman Bros licks and the Cream, I just bought one of your PAF Pure pups from a guy and will likely be looking for it's compliment neck version once I go to put my guitar project together. I love the creamy tones you are getting too.
A really good point on the usability of tapping higher output humbuckers. That is the plus with high output pups as well as rolling off the volume. It only gets complicated when you have a parallel resistor treble bleed and the volume taper is augmented. The down side of higher output is they are thicker. The acoustical properties of any guitar sort of dictate what direction you can go with the pickups.
Freaking amazing Lindy! You are the man. Between the Pure PAF'S and Split Blades I bet other pickup makers are getting a bit nervous. It will make their pickups "Virtual-ly"obsolete!! These are not your off the rack pickups.
The licks are outstanding rock n' roll and they make this video nearly a lesson. The pickups are ok. Haha! Very first class, Lindy! Thumbs up for sure. : )
Hi Lindy, i'm from Australia, love your pups! Got a coupla strats with the vintage hots and a Hank Marvin kinda custom setup i did with an MJT body and all Fender 57 neck and hardware. Loaded with your real 54's. Have you made any pickups for John Fogerty? Humbuckers, strat or tele pups? Cheers. Nick.
Is Fralinpickups able to do an video about these pickups but with an Peter Green out-of-phase mod to the pickups? It would be very interresting to hear that mod on these pickup models :)
Lindy, Were you using any EQ on this video. I ask because there's a vid of the DiMarzio EJ Customs on UA-cam (being used in an Epi Joe Pass hollowbody) that sound comparable, but in digging deeper the poster said they had EQ on to bring up the bass response of the EJs, which can be a bit thin. Your PAFs sound amazing across the tonal palatte, neck and bridge. If there's no EQ and that's their flat response, I'm in and will get a set.
@druno82 I can't say I know this for sure, but I've been wondering the same thing for a while... I think Coil Split is when you turn a humbucker into a single coil, while Coil Tap is something you do with a single coil pickup, to boost its gain level. So, if that's correct, this video is actually demonstrating Coil Split, and not Coil Tap...
Cover made of metal can darken the top end a little, Nickel-Silver does this less than brass. We use all Nickel-Silver for our pickups. Metal covers can also cause microphonic at high gain.
Thanks Lindy! I must say I really like the bridge pickup that I have (8.5k) but the neck sounds kind of dark. I read in tone quest that if I turn around the pickup I might get a slighly brighter sound. I intend to do this with my next string change. Otherwise I may need to swap this neck pickup for another one. Does in your opinion a 4 conductor wire make any difference soundwise (as opposed to a braided wire)?
Does coil tap mean you are playing one coil or are you playing some percentage of both coils? I like the clarity of the pure pafs, but i like the tapped coil sound of the high output humbuckers. Is there a way to have bright humbuckers that can also be tapped?
What do you think about putting a High Output with a coil tap in the neck and a P-92 in the bridge of a Les Paul? I need the PAF for ebow work but I really like the P-92 as well. That would give me a decent variety of tones or maybe I'm just over thinking it. The guitar is a mahogany body/top/neck LP. Please let me know your thoughts.
Hi Lindy, I would like to order an F-spaced Pure PAF bridge humbucker, wound to 9k......Should I use the "F-spaced Humbucker" order form on your website and just make a note on it that I want the Pure PAF model with A2 magnets, not the standard model with A4's? Also, are the F-spaced models available in black/cream zebra, or just black/bright white zebra? Thank you so much for your time and products !!!! Adam
Hi Lindy, i bought a 2001 Les Paul standard (heritage cherry) and want to replace the pick ups. I seen a video on YT where a guy had your pick ups installed at 7.2k and 7.9k and he had a nice mike bloomfield tone, which im looking for, I understand the caps etc that he has in would be a factor, but i would love your opinion anyways as i like the sound of the pure PAF, but i really don't know what to buy. Blues on the westside by bloomfield is the tone im looking to get if that helps.
Also, do you have any clips of either the pure PAFs or P92s in a hollowbody (or semihollow body)? And can the PAFs and the P92s be mixed in the same guitar no problem or would you recommend against that? Thanks!
If I wanted to build a strat similar to EVH’s Frankenstrat would the Standard Fralin Humbucker work in the bridge? I heard Eddie originally used a Gibson PAF in his guitar so wouldn’t it be about the same thing?
Hi Fralin Pickups. Got a question for ya, I'm modding my current telecaster to fit a humbucker in the neck position. Now, which of your humbuckers would compliment a classic tele bridge pup the most?
Hi Lindy, I have you blues specials in one of my strat's, which have made my other strat with fender cs69s in sound bad ha, anyway I am a blues guy, srv influenced, I hear you do a SRV set on request ?, what are they similar to, are they like the blues specials i have ?, more chime, less chime, the Blues specials are perfect, but makes sense to have something else in my other strat, and which one I like best will go in my third strat as well ha, the blues have lots of chime, more than I thought
I have another question, I love my blues special, but is it possible to make the 2nd and 4th position a bit more quacky by putting brighter (300k?) pot for the middle pickup tone control? Thanks.
yes I'd probably put Fralins in a Paul Reed Smith if I owned one. They are my favorite sounding pickups. I have a set of vintage hot split blades in my partocaster. And I'm seriously thinking about getting a set of blues for my telecaster and a set for my american Strat. The stock pickups do not sound as good.
hi every one, i have an exporer epiphone 1986 and has a high output humbucker but it has no adjustable screws on it, are they fake? or what, how do i know if they are original or just a replica
i´ve been seeking for further info regarding pure paf pickups then i landed here... you could use a LP or something more classic that remains to vintage tone... sorry that guitar you used mismatch the PURE PAF Proposal, that´s pretty sad
nice demo....but I think you picked the absolute worst distortion pedal to use to demonstrate how these pickups react to distortion. That was a slight distortion/overdrive which did nothing for. I can't tell what makes your pickups special versus anything else that's out there. But I keep hearing good things about your pickups. Lets hear a full on 80's metal demo with your pickups.
Fralin real 54 strat pups have the most balanced highs and harmonics to real vintage strat pups ive heard to date. I still havent heard a modern built PAF that comes close to the real thing unfortunately. Most can hit vintage tone but lack the harmonics and nuance of a real PAF.
We do sell a lot more of the low output pickups these days. They are prettier sounding and with the amps and pedals we have most people don't need the stronger pickups.
Jenny Fralin that’s what I believe, before I swap out the pickups, without having to install high output pickups, because the beauty is getting tone from passive be they stock or replacement “Brand Names”; tone over boosted high output. In regards to single coils, that’s a “no brainer”. I picked up on this company from Electric Ed; he’s The Man, he does guitar “Right”!!
Not only does Mr Fralin make incredibly beautiful pickups . . . but he can play well too!!
2:37 when he played that low e string it sounded like a piano! Surprised to hear such a lovely clean sound from a high output pickup
My right ear really loved this.
Outstanding pick-ups as ever, but I am most pleased that you used a 609 to record the sound! That mic is definitely now on my shopping list! Both rigs sound great, though I dig the PAF a bit more.

Great pickups Lindy. Both sets are great but I am really digging the tone of your Pure PAFs. They are amazing. Thanks for the demo.
Paul
I have a Telecaster with Lindy’s pickup on neck position. It sounds fantastic!! Thanks Lindy.
These sound absolutely perfect. I love them
Those Pure PAFs sound PERFECT! I WANT THEM! ESPECIALLY THE NECK PICKUP 4-CONDUCTOR.
A really good point on the usability of tapping higher output humbuckers. That is the plus with high output pups as well as rolling off the volume. Thumbs up for sure. : )
Btw, i put your blues special set on my japanese RI54 strat, I simpy can't find any fault with its tone, just perfect!
Hi Lindy, i'm from Australia, love your pups! Got a coupla strats with the vintage hots and a Hank Marvin kinda custom setup i did with an MJT body and all Fender 57 neck and hardware. Thank you for your reply. I was wondering if you could do a comparison video of the two. That would be awesome.

Hi Lindy,
Amazing sounding pickups. I notice no covers on the pickups.Does a pickup cover have an impact on on tone?
Cover made of metal can darken the top end a little, Nickel-Silver does this less than brass. We use all Nickel-Silver for our pickups. Metal covers can also cause microphonic at high gain.
Awesome pickups! Do you make the high output pickups to accommodate guitars with the string spacing at the bridge of 2.1 inches or greater ?
Please do let me know if nickel covers color the tone much on the High Output Humbuckers. And thanks for the fabulous videos!
Hmmm. Any chance you could do a vid between the high outputs and the unbuckers? Thanks!
Thanks Lindy! I must say I really like the bridge pickup that I have (8.5k) but the neck sounds kind of dark. @FralinPickups Thanks for the quick 411! I'll be putting a set in my paul very soon :)
Can you make a video using humbuckers in a Les Paul Standard?

Hi Fralin Pickups.
Got a question for ya, I'm modding my current telecaster to fit a humbucker in the neck position. Now, which of your humbuckers would compliment a classic tele bridge pup the most?
hey lindy, what pickups did peter max use in his 59 les paul replica guitars. thanks.
are these the stock Pure PAFs?
What size cap is on the bridge of the pure PAF
is that a fender telecaster nashville deluxe there hanging on the wall?
Hi Lindy, I have you blues specials in one of my strat's, which have made my other strat with fender cs69s in sound bad ha, anyway I am a blues guy, srv influenced, I hear you do a SRV set on request ?, what are they similar to, are they like the blues specials i have ?, more chime, less chime, the Blues specials are perfect, but makes sense to have something else in my other strat, and which one I like best will go in my third strat as well ha, the blues have lots of chime, more than I thought
Hey Lindy! What is the output rate of the High output set you play on the PRS ?
Thanks !
Your hum cancelling p90s sound great with high gain. I was surprised. I like the sound better than my other high gain pickups. Go figure.
I have another question, I love my blues special, but is it possible to make the 2nd and 4th position a bit more quacky by putting brighter (300k?) pot for the middle pickup tone control? Thanks.
I have 2 Fralins in my Gibson R8, reading at 7.5k and 8.5k. What is the difference between them and those PURE PAFs?
Thanks.

@yeboahman
They should fit, they are the same size as a mini humbucker, like Lindy said. Also, great clear sounding pickups Lindy!.
hi there, how would these sound on a 335? do you recommend it? thanks
@taztherocker
voice is on the right, guitar is on the left.
What neck humbucker of yours would go with a High Output humbucker in the bridge position?
Yeah that really looks LIKE a Ricken Paul!
hi every one, i have an exporer epiphone 1986 and has a high output humbucker but it has no adjustable screws on it, are they fake? or what, how do i know if they are original or just a replica

Dear mr.fralin, which set would you recommend for a HSS config guitar, withour significant volume drop when switching to middle and neck pickups?
nice demo....but I think you picked the absolute worst distortion pedal to use to demonstrate how these pickups react to distortion. That was a slight distortion/overdrive which did nothing for. if we ever hook up and jam, i could see us jammin on some allman bros stuff all day long....ill call u guys tomorrow, need some bass pups. d
Does anyone know if fralin pots his pafs?
@FralinPickups Great sounds I need some humbuckers for the All Metal Trev Tele I'm Building. Dave @ San Diego Custom Guitars
OK; I am biased... but the Thomas Rodriguez guitars he has are the equal of the pickups Fralin makes.
your licks sounds like allman brothers rambling man
Fralin real 54 strat pups have the most balanced highs and harmonics to real vintage strat pups ive heard to date.
I still havent heard a modern built PAF that comes close to the real thing unfortunately.

Rodriguez 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟sounds good with the combination, but the PRS, I don’t hear it!!

Paf are the best in all sounds
I wanna trade my fralin pure paf for some pearly gates
I didn't know Saul Goodman could play
High output humbuckers are awful. So why do yours' sound so good?
Kinda harsh
Playing is hard to listen...
