Great tone and playing!
They sound great!
Still with MAE as a project engineer on new AV/IT builds 👍
Such Good Pickups! The breakup is so healthy and righteous
I agree! The early PRS and Tyler guitars used them ! I was turned On to them by an interview from LA Session Guitarist Michael Landau in the 90's. All that Burning Water stuff is Fralin's :) Plus Eric Johnson and Brent Mason too!
@@bobchapman8592 Fralins are generally great. These PAFs have been overshadowed by the Pure PAFs but they really sound great. Vintage but unique, with their own thing going on.
Excellent sounding!! I love the pick "chirp"! Are the Fralin modern PAF's the 8k/9k set?
Yes, but the key is also 50’s wiring as well
@@bobchapman8592I just ordered the hottest Modern PAF set. 8.5/9.5.
Why do you say 50s wiring is key?
Nice video and great playing, sir. It's nice to demo a pickup with someone with a good touch. By the way, is that Korina or Mahogany? I have a Korina Epi Explorer that I love which is why I'm searching for pickups.
The Fralins are good but the Lollar’s are probably the best as far as PAF style. The Lollars neck pickup isn’t too dark. If you are mostly a rock player or hard rock player then the Suhr SSV is a fantastic bridge pickup but keep in mind, the more wraps the darker, the sound for hard rock it thickens it up, but for everything else it can make it a little boxy sounding. Good Luck 👍 Ty :) for your kind works 😊
Thank you 🙏 Not sure how true it is to be real Korina but the neck is a maple back. Plus it’s very light. Fralin’s are very pure sounding maybe not as compressed as Duncan’s or Lollar’s. Landau turned me on to
Them.
