This is like an infomercial for techno-obtuseness. To summarize the techno-optimist position, humanity will voluntarily enslave itself to its shiny new creations, an unprecedented seismic wave of destruction will reign for an untold duration, and eventually some select few of us might emerge into a world where “very few things” are of value anymore. Nice vision, fellas. Is there someone else we could talk to? You folks are terrifying.
Elon IS scary...he said we could put 80 billion people on earth that optimally can handle only 3 billion. Telling people, who, like Elon, is irresponsibly ignorant of the natural world, encourages people to believe they can have as many children as they want, when in fact, we should be encouraging birthing 3 children or less.
Yes, in victim mentality leftist male feminist support groups. Come and tell the world how you don't make an effort to fix your life because you dont care about money. And don't want to be part of evil patriarchy
I just want to go back to a time where you had to remember phone numbers, you did not need to down load apps. I was a traveling salesman and could get everywhere with a map book, when I was gone nobody could reach me, pure bliss of a life.
Okay…. 😮, however, anytime now, your alarm clock is gonna go off… “on your smart phone “… and you’ll realize… that OLD World you’re talking about is OVER and the PAST. Except that knowledge & enjoy your “present” life 😊
Nooo!!! Id have post its everywhere, no quarters for pay phones, tampered broken dirty pay phones when found, closed libraries-one library encyclopedia to find answers to questions. No easily shared knowledge , no control of tv shows we wish to see… i love modern 2024!!! We adapt to change. It's very entertaining listing to someone who is Uber rich that has nothing to do all day but think. Just like all of our leaders. So detached from what 99% of people go through
Which is potentially the biggest advantage of AI - people are uninformed and have zero idea about their finances. A personalized AI giving you advise, when to buy on the stock market, crypto etc but also how to safe money - that could be a game changer. Of course corporations operating this AI and paying for it's server power will want to make money with it, but that's fine - you pay 5 percent of your net gains on the stock market to Microsoft for using OpenAI etc.
I think we should all take his advice. Get that 100K you have lying around and put it to work. You know, "Build your wealth while others lose their jobs..."
This video should serve as a warning for people who are on the receiving end of this agenda (all of us). If these salesman think they can impose their very one-sided point of view onto the world and act as if they were entitled to push their concepts onto the global scene, they are Completely ignoring the fact that there is this incredible force in the universe that keeps things in balance. There are ignoring the fact that half of the world population lives on 2 1/2 dollars per day. Process food is contributing to a major mental health crisis in the world, in addition to the physical impact. Humanity is not prepared for AI, because we have very little knowledge of the self. The way out of the self identity/adaptation personality pattern is to take an agency over one’s internal shadow. These guys think that they can direct the future human experiences from the comfort of their headquarters. It’s sickening, the level of ignorance, arrogance and entitlement. Pharma and so-called food industries are polluting this earth on an unfathomable scale, together with the petroleum industry. The Earth is revolting, and natural disasters will continue to accelerate. I personally feel complete revolt towards this trend, considering how many fundamental human needs are being ignored in favor of technological advancement. Humans need to be connected to nature, they need to be connected to to the electromagnetic field of the universe, no technology will ever be able to substitute that.
Completely agree. They are totally detached from real life experiences. I am a developer and more than 80% of the business, including certain levels of government, don’t use the cloud. These small business don’t even have a website, let alone an app. Even with AI you still need some training eg to create a movie. But again, as you said all of these cost money. War is coming, so after that they might want to introduce sth like this and gain control
We don’t want AI. It is evil for the human soul. Humans need humans, nature, love and God. God told all of us, we are nothing without Him. He is in control - we are not.
When anyone speaks of AI advancements, all I Invision is this: 1. 100% Unemployment 2. Total surveillance 3. Total control 4. Imprisonment within a controlled boundary of circumference 5. Complete destruction of civilians whom appear to be a threat to AI by means of retaliation 6. A dystopian life for those in power in which AI will provide all resources to them.......... Never meant for the common civilian...aka - "we the people"
you forgot the intentional selective breading of obedient humans. also there will be about as many different scenarios of said reality fed into people as there are people. IF those people would ever break out, they'd find each other and NOT be able to work together since they can't even agree on what color is addressed with what word... SHIIIT.... There would be as many languages as there are people... every person would be in their box, fed the AI garbage, all speaking a custom language by which they wouldn't be able to communicate to others....
Tapped on bro, in an idealistic world AI is an incredible and will free humanity. In reality… well computers are only as smart as the humans that programmed them, even AI runs on programming. So the question is, who will be in control of the most powerful AI softwares. Judging by current power structures, George Orwell’s 1984 is a dream compared to what’s coming 😅
Okay I finally made up my mind. Hearing people like this speak on the "different" world that's coming, and how "awesome" it's going to be, it's just very clear to me now that it's not about ignorance or anything like that. It's just that my definition of "awesome world" is very, very different
The idea of AI being your "best friend" is horrible and anti human, anti soul. You both can go to heck! The problems we are having now are because of detached people with no heart or soul
As we have progressed technologically, it seems we have become more depressed, disconnected, weaker, sick etc. Not sure what makes you think if we further progress down this road we will suddenly change for the better.
He's also worth over $200 million... It doesn't matter what happens to the future, it won't affect him... And Tom's worth a lot too, it won't affect him either lol.
I Want You Diversify Your Income Streams: Relying solely on one source of income can be risky, especially during times of economic uncertainty. Explore opportunities to diversify your income streams, such as investing in stocks, real estate, or starting a side business. Multiple income streams can provide stability and resilience against job losses. Besides, you will fall behind if you do not turn technology into your strength.
No doubt being financially free and not having to worry much about health care and other expenses cannot be overemphasized, making smart plans and setting up diversified investment portfolios is quite essential.
Shannon Saccocia, Chief Investment Officer at SVB Private, recommends that investors refrain from making big changes to their portfolios without consulting a financial planner and try to stick with their long-term financial plan.
indeed, most people downplay the roles of financial planners until burnt by there mistakes. Productivity is optimized and keeping up to date strategies and analysis makes it more lucrative. I've been able to navigate the volatilities and scaled up
Good point.. the market has been crazy lately, a few surprises here and there.. with all the global happenings taking place I think it’s safe to say that a severe global recession is looming..
These intelligent gentlemen have their binoculars pointed directly at the island of Naive Trust. They believe it will all be used for good. Fun. Food. Everyone will have enough! That's simply not possible. It's never been and it never will be. When you stuff the God hole with cars, inventions, entertainment, great drugs and caviar the hole becomes even more insatiable and the only final, suitable inevitable sacrifice left is You.
I agree with you up until you mentioned God. You cannot have the religion without the condition those religions were founded under. I would very much like to throw away the condoms and have five sons and have them all fishing, ranching, and longhunting, living on their father's land. Is that what religion is doing in today's politics? Or is it continuing to blame people from a cubicle, at an individual level.
Anytime anybody says something is impossible has never been that way and it never will be that way well then the first thing I think about is it wasn't possible to go to the moon and it never will be possible to go to the Moon that was the thinking over 100 years ago. Also there was a time when it was not possible to communicate instantaneously at lightspeed in the thinking was it's not possible now and it never will be possible and the fact that matter is you know you go back a thousand years ago and almost everything we have right now this minute television computers antibiotics none of that was possible and from the viewpoint of everybody living at that point it never would be possible. There are plenty of things right now this minute that might seem impossible if we think in a linear fashion. like at the rate we're going at this moment it might take a thousand years to master a lot of technology that would revolutionize life in the material level but the thing is though is like if in reality the advancement of one technology is going to double in about another two or three years and another 2 years after that it doubles again and then another year after that it doubles again well then pretty soon within a decade or two you have made essentially the equivalent of 1,000 years of progress in that one decade when you take into account the exponential acceleration. At the same time of course there are tools that can enhance people's ability to do really bad things so then therefore we have to use the same tools to be sure that we're able to track down or block really bad actors and then you know make sure that they tried and punished to the level of what their actions would have been capable of doing..

You are luckier than 99% of 72 year olds. Food may be a huge factor but so are genes and environment which may be beyond the control of those who are forced to seek medical care in spite of their own attempts to stay healthy
The thing that is constantly missed by the “most intelligent” people is that in reality we actually know next to nothing about our existence and the universe we live. They are basing all the potential outcomes on such limited knowledge but their egos are too big to even consider that.
Living at lightning speed is not synonymous with progress. In fact, it often leads us away from the essence of living a meaningful life. Life is a delicate tapestry of moments meant to be savored and cherished, not rushed through in pursuit of the next big thing. By neglecting the beauty of simplicity, we risk losing touch with our humanity. Technological innovations hold the potential to enhance our quality of life, offering solutions that ease burdens and open new possibilities. Yet, an unbridled push towards transhumanism threatens the core of what it means to be human. The perspectives of certain tech titans, who prioritize speed and efficiency over the natural course of evolution, may ultimately erode the very essence of our existence. Embracing the natural pace of life allows us to appreciate its wonders and complexities. It grants us the space to reflect, connect, and grow as individuals and as a society. By honoring the natural evolution of life, we can preserve our humanity and continue to thrive in harmony with the world around us. Let us not forget that the journey itself holds as much value as the destination.
@@geocam2 It's all we've got to go on. No one knows what the future will hold. Keep in mind that all this AI and Tech can be easily wiped out if the Sun gives off a loud burp and deep fries all the electronics and electrical systems on Earth. We'll be back to the Early Modern Era if we're lucky.😮

Opposite - neo-feudalism to basically control all limited resources wher and to whom are distributed. Your brain, creativity will mean nothing compared to wealth, connections and your looks. If you won't be young and attractive, or well-connected and rich - your life will mean nothing.
I do believe at some point people will just abandon stocks, money, etc in general. I for one, no longer want to play the game. I guess its a decision that folks will have to make. We no longer will have to decide between me myself and I. We will have to change the way we think.
techno utopia. I get it. I was also on this band wagon in my 20s. Then I realized that every atrocity perpetuated on humans by other humans was done in the name of Utopia and this one will be no different.
I agree. This is why God is looking for a fundamental transformation in individuals. All the machinery present or future will never help outside of fundamental change in man’s heart.
A bit disingenuous to compare 1900 to today as 1900 being the good old days. No dude. How about the 1990’s or 2000’s. Don’t have to go that far back to remember better times where we could party without feeling guilty and when we had hope For a better future for our children. What we have now is tech guys with unlimited budgets describing how great the future will be for them while everyone else is left behind with worthless dollars, taxes on their house or rent they cannot afford afraid to say anything because they might get arrested by the thought police. That’s why we the people want America to be great again. Not the distant past but the recent past. We’ve lived it and know how it was. We want that again.
yes, because its better than going to work for a bunch of cranky old people who reluctantly give you money for your abuse. A computer will do your job a lot better than you, and it will give you credits or money once it fires you
Same with your growth through passion, discipline and hard work. AI will get to the point that will do everything better than humans. Most creative and intelligent people will lose any value. Only genetics, looks and money/wealth will get you somewhere. No more - "I will make it!". Basically no dreams to most people. Depressing AF

The casual disregard for the human spirit is the most distressing part of this discussion. Also, there seemed to be little consideration for anyone who doesn’t want to part of this Borg World with a smiley face
:D What a relief listening to this podcast! Because I just got laid off as a result of AI and I really hope I can keep up with mortgage payments until the UBI kicks in...or at least the abundance. How long till the abundance?
Funny how many people commenting here think they're included in the type of wealth that will survive what is being discussed here. The only people that are "wealthy" enough to survive what's coming, will never see or hear about this podcast and certainly won't be commenting here if they were to watch it.
Very interesting discussion. I fear techno fascism and eugenics may become threats as those who believe they know what is best for you and overrule the individual. Conform or be cast out.
Don't you think this is all hype and very little substance? Smartphones and tech in general have barely evolved over the last 10 years, we've seen fairly small gains here and there - a little less heat for more power in processors for example with Apple Silicon. We've fixed some engineering problems but haven't achieved anything revolutionary.
@@DerDudelino I agree (suspiciously so) but social media subservience has gone vertical despite this alluding to my greater point that we are not only fine and dandy with this but more disturbingly almost seem to welcome it (but then again we are demonstratably and unfortunately overwhelmingly a slave race) whatever happens next I don't think bodes very well for most of humanity.
It has all been one great war that has been going on for over a century, just changes battlefields once in a while. But the conflict has been continuous somewhere for all of that time. The great war has never ended.
The good in both of those examples had to go in and root out the evil... if not it would have been much much worse. Human nature hasn't changed. The real problem is that folks have no idea how to identify the real threats. They are concentrating on the wrong the things or being destracted.
All of our economic systems to date have been built around managing scarcity. This guy believes that technology is moving us toward a future of radical abundance. This will represent a phase shift in how businesses and the economy is run. All economic systems are born, mature and die. Why would capitalism be any different
I’m just going to ask you guys one question… ‘What do you humans have to offer AI once it’s sentient?’ I urge you all to ponder this question because I can promise you that once you create this new life form that’s at least 1000 times smarter than any of you are, it’s going to ask itself that exact same question.
This man is clearly articulate and great author. That being said , during this podcast , he's not telling us all he could. You can tell he's not upfront. There's more than meets the eyes and that Sucks. Shits gonna get dark faster than ever before. Of course if you are ready ahead of time , you'll be right on time. If you get ready just in time, you are already late.
The question isn’t would you rather live in 1900 or today, it’s “would you rather live in 1955 or even 1995 or today?” It becomes a much different conversation-
@@klnrklnr4433 I think that in the west best times to be alive were 80s and 90s. Especially 90s were amazing. Right now new generations face gloom reality to live in worse economy and living standards than their parents and grandparents. It;s since 2018-ish.
What scares me about the concept of extending life, which I used to not be concerned about. Is that it will be stratified to untold heights by our society as it currently is, the worst people will remain in power FOREVER. Even if we remain a "democratic peoples" we would be controlled by the current elites who will only let the change they want to have happen happen.
Yup. The ones in control will do all they can to retain control. AGI and smart machines will be used by these folks to keep us all controlled. Vast levels of surveillance and manipulation. Manipulation will be so subtle that none of us will notice it. We'll definitely all end up in metaphorical boxes designed by someone (or something) else.
4:23 Great topic guys, but a few concerns: "a more peaceful world" can only happen if the paradigm of corporate greed is addressed and overcome. Otherwise, corporate greed will continue to create an increasing divide between the haves and have-nots. Any thoughts?
A corporation is not capitalism, it is a fascist partnership between business and government. Once a company 'goes public' it partners with the govt and becomes a fascist institution.
@@steelearmstrong9616 You will have your own quantum computer AI and the knowledge on how to extend life will be available to all. Most people will not adhere. Plenty of knowledge available now like don't drink, alcohol, don't smoke, moderate exercise, reduce percentage of body fat, caloric restriction to slow metabolism. Most of us could probably live to 90-100 just with the information already available.
@@steelearmstrong9616that will definitely be true at first. Cell phones and smartphones were extremely expensive at first which means that only people who had a lot of money would buy them or else people who are willing to throw all the money they had at them. However later on will then now these things are like $70 a piece that can do what only NASA level computers could do back in the late 60s early 70s and they fit in your pocket. Anything having to do with genetic technology will probably have a price performance acceleration greater than computer technologies had in the past so therefore you're right it will start off very expensive but the price will probably come down fairly rapidly we just don't know whether or not it's going to start off at 10 million dollars to have regenerative technology work on your body at first and then go down to like $50 in a decade or whether it's going to be two decades or even a half a decade... Once again the problem is that most people are as Ray cruzwell pointed out thinking linearly as opposed to exponentially.
I find it humourous that you place such value on longevity....for those without the opportunity money brings...the prospect of prolonging their earthly experience is not all that inviting...
Republicans couldn't stop talking about the Epstein flight logs. As soon as they were released and Trumps name came up 7 times, it got real quiet. Even the media, including Huffington refuses to mention it. Too weird 🤔
What has value? Sitting with people who have done silent time. They are our biggest value. When you understand unfolding of consciousness in void of time is the person.
I think these guys are off the rocker. I see more and more people tuning out of technology. My young niece just gave up on social media. People are seeing how much this stuff has become cancer. AI best friends will only appeal to the people who could never make friends in the first place. The rest of us will stick to humans. We see what AI has just done in Gaza. F that.
The issue going forward will be effectively cultivating and nurturing our agency in a culture that recognizes the centrality of this issue. Wisdom and relevance realization will the only road forward. Our sense of mattering to ourself and our community and what that looks like will be our ticket to ride. Simple satiation alone will quickly deal us out of the game.
I'm sure you all have come across this questions before, so: Why do these billionaires get to direct the future of the entire world? Why aren't their ambitions checked in any way? What measures of "do no harm" are enforced? (we've seen failures on this point).
"We navigated WW2 and WW1". Millions died that's not 'navigation'! It was catastrophic, especially for the civillians of Nagasaki, Hiroshima, Berlin, the displaced people of Ukraine, the Jewish people. A fanciful notion that suffering is being managed, and in a reasonable and compassionate way.
It actually is navigation. Let's say you live in Florida and there's a hurricane that comes through your town and your house is flooded or the roof comes off etc and you do what it takes to survive, have you not navigated through that storm and come out alive at the end? I'm sure most of us here are not being exactly literal and textbook definition when we use some words. Navigating a hurricane, tornado or car wreck is the same thing as navigating it in the end. Navigating can be reactive as well as proactive. Surviving can be proactive as well as reactive. At least that's My perspective.
I am starting to get a bit concerned about the AI-robotic future; not because it will go evil/rogue and kill everyone, but that it will just simply replace workers. I appreciate in previous similar revolutions, people could be re-trained. No longer making buggy whips, but now you can make cars. Ultimately good. However, whatever people could now be retrained into, the AI will already be better at. So a vanishingly small number of people will control ever increasing portions of the economy. The already vast difference between the haves and the have-nots will become even greater. There will definitely be a great number of great things that can be done by AI. There will be definite benefits in health, energy, efficiency, etc., but who will ultimately benefit from that is not clear. If we go to a "star trek" utopia where money is no longer an issue because everyone can have whatever they want, then great. But if the current trend of those with power and control always taking more power and control, then there will be a few in utopia, and many in the ditches. How people will maintain themselves and strive for a place in this unfolding evolution is not evident.
You’re concerns are valid. There will be a much greater push for a lot less people to be on this earth. It is their opinion that a lot of people must go and as a result this is a conversation amongst the 1% who believe in this future to come.
You’re thinking too small. AI/robots/automation will increase productivity to the point that society doesn’t need people to work so much. Why work when it’s already completed by robots? Do something you care about with your time; anything you want. Are you familiar with the material gains of the average human being made within the last 20 years, 50 years, 100 years? There is greater wealth in so many more humans in many multiples of any time in the history of human civilization. And especially amongst the poorest humans. The prescient issue is not one of materialism but that of psychologism/spiritualism.
Love Mo. Read his book in one go. Germany just legalised growing Cannabis. If a highly catholisised country like Germany can pass progressive legislation, I remain optimistic for the future. Also, on a more personal note, A.I. can bite my shiny metal ...
There is SO much I can say in response to this very long video, yet one of the most striking and perhaps scary things said is at about 3:17:00 in in which he says the key to longevity is to not retire and that if you don't have a sense of purpose you die sooner. Does anyone find this ironic coming from a man who is in part responsible and cocreator of AI which is taking away jobs, creativity, and purpose? and also piggybacking on that earlier in this where the three of them speak of what to do with your life without a job is to just go have fun! How long do you think that will last (either in simulation worlds or not, even with UBI) before people lose their will to live without meaning and purpose as it has been taken from us?
I agree with your point. It would have been easier to swallow if they’d just said they don’t know what people’s purpose will be in an AI dominant universe. I’d have more respect for that vs. the sales pitch. Clearly, their success is tied to the success of AI, so I get it, but not thinking about what could go wrong is what leads to humanity’s downfall in darn near every AI movie. I’ve never recommended anyone watch tv, but these two definitely should.
Currently the usage and purpose of AI is mostly: - data-related so corporations can sell more stuff, - replacement of office jobs to cut the costs, - replacement of creative jobs like art, design and so on so they can save and make more money, - replacement of jobs requiring problem-solving skills like software engineers (not yet but in near future) - making learning obsolite as what's the point to learn stuff which won't get you anywhere in the future - AI will replace you anyway - military-focused, improving killing efficency, war drones, swarms and so on - surveiliance What AI is not doing and probably won't do: - focusing heavily on reasearching cures for cancer and other issues, make them free and available to everyone - reducing difficult and boring jobs and making more creative and cool jobs (it takes those) - fixing climate changes (it takes more resources every day) - fixing mental issues (it will create more) All of those enthusiasts talk about: "imagine that instead of doing that boring stuff you will be able to work in the job which excites you.." While artists, writers and developers loose their jobs. If they are not addressing that now - and let it happen imagine what will be, when military AI-powered robots will start appearing in the war zones, and then on the streets. Those people are delusional. They are top 0.0001% of world population income-based and let this sick implementation working.
Very interesting conversation! I get the overall positivity on technology and share a lot of it, but it is going to be a nightmare dystopia as long as this technology is distributed through the hands of the financial-military cartel that rules the world now.
What will be the purpose of living, if man has everything done for him? How do you fill up 24 hours of the day, if there is no worth in those hours? Where is the understanding that human beings enjoy the learning process? Why would I want to have an A.I. best friend, who will challenge me? Who will check me? Who will I support or give advice too? The reason there is so much anxiety today, in this country, is because life is so easy we make up unimportant shit to worry about. The people that actually have to work physically hard to survive, use their energy, and it doesn't build into anxiety. So we are all now, to sit around and "play games". I see millions of hermits and suicides in the next two decades as our brains atrophy. :(
Not really - only small portion of people will survive that change. The poor and the masses will be redundant to the people on the top. Won;t be surprise when they castrate all the poor and just live in their hedonistic caste with all of their AI-powered humanoid servants
Cannot believe these guests talk on your show with so many obnoxious interruptions. You may be rich Tom. Socially you’re not as your Moonshot guest who I was going to follow. Healthy humans seek interviewers and interviewees who are socially aware too. Believe it or not lots of people have this kind of finesse. It’s called simpatico, simpatica in Italian. Ismael is simpatico. A lot of wealthy Caucasian people it would behoove them not to look smart; yet both be smart & know your audience. Lex Friedman, he’s young, yet he’s smart and puts forth just the right amount of tension and NO commercials. He’s really smart.
And speaking of commercials, there aren't just some, there an exorbitant, intolerable amount. Dude Tom you're rich AF. Do you need to monetize for more drops in your bucket? It RUINS your content. RUINS IT
It's a discussion, not an interview. I prefer the new new deeper discussion model on podcasts than the old interview model (unless, of course, it's autobiographical in nature).
Says "empathy" in one sentence and his expectations of people to fight in the hunger games just to survive and climb on top of the bones of the less fortunate in the next. Even if people upskill in AI, they won't be needed en masse anymore. When the rich talk about empathy here they mean they will feel sad watching people suffer and die off as they become obsolete like horses did. But to make sure they don't have to feel too sad, they'll convince themselves and gaslight others that people perish by their own fault. And when they talk about abundance for everybody, by everybody they meam the 5% of the wealthiest of the population that will survive and they finally wouldnt have to worry about those pesky poor people. Even climate change would fix itself then. Even if they cover with grand total of one sentence subject such as the UBI, they forget to mention it means everybody will barely survive in the next. No more freedom or a way to escape poverty.
There is another huge issue we just saw during the last altercation in the middle east. That is real videos from the past being used to depict the present.
TLDR People are divided on the future of technology and investing, with some focusing on practical skills and others expressing skepticism and concern.
We've navigated these things over and over again. World War I, World War II.... then that ended with the advent and usage of multiple nuclear weapons. Treating this upcoming turbulence like something we just need to prepare for the other side of isn't going to be enough. Between now and then there are many unprecedented issues we are going to have to deal with and if everybody just stays in "how am I gonna get mine" mentality there is a very real and expanding threat that we don't make it to your promised land.
1900s would've been better. Being at a time of low hanging fruit, and at a time when exploration was an adventure and not a packaged holiday would be more than enough to persuade me.
Thank you, Tom, for your incredible work on Impact Theory. Your interviews and insights have profoundly influenced my mindset and personal growth. Your dedication to helping others unlock their potential is truly inspiring. Keep up the amazing work!
I'm not surprised none of them have heard of the Netflix two seasons series called UPLOAD. They do exactly what they're talking about, uploading their consciousness to the cloud. The funny thing about the series is depending on how much money you have you have more or less amenities. There is a city called two gig City, because you don't have a lot of money and all you get is 2 gig of bandwidth so your room looks like a jail cell. Meanwhile, the rich people are living in a multi-story building and have everything that they're disposal.. If you have not watched it, you've got to give it a try..

5. Complete destruction of civilians whom appear to be a threat to AI by means of retaliation
6. A dystopian life for those in power in which AI will provide all resources to them.......... Never meant for the common civilian...aka - "we the people"
Finally, someone else who gets it.

there will be about as many different scenarios of said reality fed into people as there are people.
IF those people would ever break out, they'd find each other and NOT be able to work together since they can't even agree on what color is addressed with what word...

There would be as many languages as there are people... every person would be in their box, fed the AI garbage, all speaking a custom language by which they wouldn't be able to communicate to others....
This is the first lucid comment here.
Tapped on bro, in an idealistic world AI is an incredible and will free humanity. In reality… well computers are only as smart as the humans that programmed them, even AI runs on programming.

The thing that is constantly missed by the “most intelligent” people is that in reality we actually know next to nothing about our existence and the universe we live. They are basing all the potential outcomes on such limited knowledge but their egos are too big to even consider that.
The bit about schools today is a very American-centric view. Many places in Europe teach empathy, purpose, passions. Look at Finland and Denmark.

Even the media, including Huffington refuses to mention it. Too weird 🤔

Tech is a huge part of the future.
What has value? Sitting with people who have done silent time. They are our biggest value. When you understand unfolding of consciousness in void of time is the person.
Glad I worked in the oil industry for 15 years and could then retire in Alaska and now leaving the grid.
F that.
I’m happy to hear about your niece.
I quit all the social media involvement except for UA-cam and rum bell ( less cen sor ship)
Luigi has shown one way.
I was enthralled by the information in this from start to finish. This is one I'll have to watch multiple times to really process everything.
The borg was probably roddenberrys most accurate prediction
"We navigated WW2 and WW1". Millions died that's not 'navigation'!
It was catastrophic, especially for the civillians of Nagasaki, Hiroshima, Berlin, the displaced people of Ukraine, the Jewish people. A fanciful notion that suffering is being managed, and in a reasonable and compassionate way.
What about Russia’s 20 million man sacrifice?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?
@@ssehe2007 Only one question mark is needed. And yes, I'm talking about civilians...thanks for your contribution.
Wow wish I could have found this podcast sooner.Very Fascinating look forward to seeing and hearing more.💯✌️
When the talk about AI is now turning into thing the ancient spiritual gurus have been talking about, I love it!

Currently the usage and purpose of AI is mostly:
- data-related so corporations can sell more stuff,
- replacement of office jobs to cut the costs,
- replacement of creative jobs like art, design and so on so they can save and make more money,
- replacement of jobs requiring problem-solving skills like software engineers (not yet but in near future)
- making learning obsolite as what's the point to learn stuff which won't get you anywhere in the future - AI will replace you anyway
- military-focused, improving killing efficency, war drones, swarms and so on
- surveiliance
What AI is not doing and probably won't do:
- focusing heavily on reasearching cures for cancer and other issues, make them free and available to everyone
- reducing difficult and boring jobs and making more creative and cool jobs (it takes those)
- fixing climate changes (it takes more resources every day)
- fixing mental issues (it will create more)
All of those enthusiasts talk about: "imagine that instead of doing that boring stuff you will be able to work in the job which excites you.." While
artists, writers and developers loose their jobs. If they are not addressing that now - and let it happen imagine what will be, when military AI-powered robots
will start appearing in the war zones, and then on the streets.
Those people are delusional. They are top 0.0001% of world population income-based and let this sick implementation working.

Thank you so much for this information. I really enjoy the talk and interview. Brilliant guest and host.
Easy to be optimistic about da FUTCHA when ur RICH AF...Tom. 🤷♂jus fax

Very interesting conversation! I get the overall positivity on technology and share a lot of it, but it is going to be a nightmare dystopia as long as this technology is distributed through the hands of the financial-military cartel that rules the world now.
This is one of the most educational podcasts of all time. Paradoxically the advertisers buying ads (not Tom's ads, youtubes ads) are conspiracy trash.
In the past, what ever anyone ever has envisioned for the future, they never came close to envisioning what actually occurred.
So what happens to those jobs when AI takes over? How will humans make money if they’re not programmers or engineers?
Universal basic income for obedient serfs only
Tom loves hearing his own opinions.
Our purpose will evolve. Fundamentally human purpose will remain the same but will develop in new age world.
Not really - only small portion of people will survive that change. The poor and the masses will be redundant to the people on the top. Won;t be surprise when they castrate all the poor and just live in their hedonistic caste with all of their AI-powered humanoid servants
We all need to adapt as the new world is coming so we won't be left behind.
Well said.
There is another huge issue we just saw during the last altercation in the middle east. That is real videos from the past being used to depict the present.
future proves past
Go on an unpackaged holiday. And if you get sick along the way you won’t die.

Wish you put dates on the clips, timeline is very important with how fast AI is moving
