David Dorner Lol, the spirit bar has been in like the past 4-5 MH games, some of which were around 2012. Those aren’t “newer” are they?
Freedom era is really something else. We were rough and tough back then to prove that it was possible to slay Fatalis solo added to the fact that there were no Spirit Gauge Level and Spirit Helm Breaker. *Proud Pokke Noises*
@@iangarcia2708 I mean Fatty is still solo able.
I love how mh immediately turned into boomers vs Gen z and millennials. It was harder then, yes, but that doesn’t mean it was easy now. Iceborne has probably kicked my ass as much as 3U g rank has.
I remember as a kid playing this on my PSP, I was so scared of fighting elder dragons, I wouldn’t even be able to kill it. I’d just end up repelling it lmao. Tigrex was a pain for me, I always end up carting over and over. I don’t even think I finished the game. But now it’s so easy to kill them in World lol.
Dude i feel you. Back then I couldn’t even beat Tigrex in freedom because I thought he was the final boss since he was in the clip fighting those three hunters in the mountain. I only ever managed to make it mad and cut the tail before quitting out of fear
@person person no, the older games are much harder and less accessible
Shmector Lopez yeahhh lmao I was so mad when I found out that there were harder variants of the monsters I just fought. I remember bringing flashes and flashbugs, traps and the materials to make the traps, all just for Tigrex lol. Don’t even get me started on Plesioth, literally aids
person person yes older games were more difficult to approach a monster and harder to survive, almost guaranteed to cart if you made a tiny mistake.
Took me a week to finally beat tigrex in FU long ago
And then i met Rajang
MH games comparison and debate aside, I really appreciate Peppo for bringing back memories of my teenhood with my friends. Kinda like a sweet taste for my brain. The nostalgia factor.......no matter how far this game has progressed, there's no greater feeling when you reminisce about where you started.
I love MH☝
Fun fact Wyporium in mh4u can get you Lunastra armour.
World really improved her by a lot
After hunting her a bunch(crown hunting), I can say I’m confident in fighting MHW Lunastra now
Still dont know how to kill her without a bunch of skills protecting me from aoe attacks, but I found that IG could help to avoid a lot of attacks, still I would like to hear your strategy to see what I can improve
@@paps3841 I just fought her, a lot.
I know her moveset, and what she does. Packing the Fireproof Mantle really helps against her nova. Evade Window also really helps out in dodging her attacks. Other than that, I don’t know how else to put it than “I just fought her, a lot.”
this makes me feel old like I should have kids or something, but I dont

This boss really likes to lie down. Like honestly being on the ground 40% of the time brings some good memories.
Well he is using Fatalis Longsword
Hitting enemies on the sweet spot with a GS is the best sensation ever. It feels like cleaving the world in two lol.
I still remember the time when i first encounter Tigrex in popo tounge
That scared the shit out of me i almost throwed my PSP at that time
As a pretty young kid, that shit traumatized me,
i don't think i'll ever trust again,
The herb gathering quest,. and at the end “HERB GATHERING MY ASS I ALMOST DIED! Good old days
That shit gave me anxiety to play the game lmao
Remember when crit eye are called reckless abandon
My first monster hunter game was world so it feels weird not seeing foresight slash
Most weird is not to see the screen full of blue flames around
I know people love the old games But looking at this gameplay and how slow the animations of the ls look, i couldnt bring myself to play this game today. What can i say i guess im a graphics junky.
@@tilly3702 animations were slow on purpose, see how Luna swing her wings spreading the explosive powder so she can light an explosion by creating a spark with her preys? Each animation would show something different, so you could distinguish what the monster was going to do, I feel like this kind of stuff is pretty rare, it makes exponentially harder predicting the monster
@@slayeroffurries1115 i think im misinterpreting what your saying. Are you saying it makes it harder to predict lunas attacks? Because i feel like the slow animations would make it easier compared to the spastic instant turn around swipes mhw luna does.
@@tilly3702 no, I'm saying that the lack of animation in World makes harder of predicting monsters, wich is the main focus of the series, hunt the same monster multiple times, getting better each hunt
The Blue Teostra without insta-charge attacks.
Aka the better fight.
The Good ol days when i started to grow as a hunter...
I've never really seen gameplay for the older MH games but honestly I'm glad they went the direction they did with world.
Remember the old Alatreon that didn’t have a dps check or a one shot supernova
Both versions are utter trash
I started with the 2nd generation, and let me tell you it was and still is a challenge, I go back every once in awhile to fight monsters that don’t show up in later games for the nostalgia trip, playing through MHFU again for fun
Then Plesioth hip checks you back to other MH games
My word! I forgot how easy staggering some monsters was. This feels a bit weird watching her basically fall over every 2 seconds

When the dragon element was looking cool
back when dragon was useful and on elder dragons and as more then a way way to speed run kushala in mh4u

It’s kinda amazing to see all the movement from a 2008 game still used in MHW and MHRise and all they need is to change the texture and add some new movement/aura..

Great video
I thought in game they said something about the speed they flap their wings relative to how far the explosions are
@@sillygreatjaggi7946 I think the wings give how far the explosions are. I remember during the MHFU days, interenet was not that much accessible for me and I needed to observe the monsters' behaviours closely

will still never understand the decision of making her hitzones so godawful
coulda made her squishier than teostra but harder to fight and that actually woulda been interesting, but instead we got pain
I liked her way more than Teostra in fu just because she actually portrays her run instead of just insta-charge

Back when you had to watch the wing speed to tell if the explosions were going to be in or out. Great job with the LS too! Back when you didn't spam it and had to stagger your combo or even reset it to get the most of it.
Back when breaking parts actually did a thing that made the fight easier.
they still do?
@@LucasTigy2 not really. both kushala and teo still can use thier armor despite breaking thier horn or being poisoned
@@kyoshinataka4039 that's what dragon seal is for. also, cutting tails shortens tail strikes, and breaking other pieces like faces and arms can decrease damage from those sources, or inhibit movement
@@LucasTigy2 dragon seal is not permanent unlike breaking horn back in freedom unite. and as far as know in world the rath still can cause poison even after you break/cut their tail, claw.

there's just something raw about continuously hitting a giant monster with an edgy stick until it dies,
without having to resort to your super powers.
Lunastra in P2: first girlfriend
Lunastra in MHW: wife

this is how I remember the real monster hunter. the simplicity that made so many love the game.
The shadow of him though. It's like he has no body at all..
I'm basically a noob toward non world mh, can someone explain me why does this madman keep stun locking lunastra ... with a longsword ??
Basically the way to topple mid tier elder dragons is to just consistently hit its face
He's also over-geared (G-rank longsword vs. high-rank monster), so he's able to keep hitting that topple threshold much easier than expected. -(It's the main reason we never see a supernova.)-
@@Stratelier she doesn't have a supernova. 4U introduced that
@@kingofflames738 Good to know. (Of course, if you can stun Teo then he never gets a chance to go supernova either.)

Man it really do be like that with the constant knockdown when you attack its face. Such a good memory compared to what we have currently lel
Ah yes the old Lunastra.
She was the one with the most abrupt hitbox.
All this comment about World changes etc... even tho world added a lot QoL that the series will probably keep, monster AI changes and weapons moveset additions are not QoL 》instead those are just *changes*
Like peppo wrote on twitter "more content" doesn't mean "better game experience", the same goes for weapons moveset's addition and this is 200% true for both the LS and Lunastra
Simpler, yes, but way smoother and not frustrating to play or play against, really rewards your time spent researching the right armor set and weapon while learning the monster pattern
World Luna and LS are indeed flashier but at what cost? Was it the right direction?
Yes it was the right direction, I understand that nostalgia doesn't let you see things clearly but MHW is the much better game in the majority of aspects.
God yes it was a better direction. Longsword is actually a unique sword now instead of just a swishy swish sword, and Lunastra isn't just literally Teostra but blue and worse
