You Gotta Hear This Funk Band - Key & Peele
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 лип 2020
- A 70s funk band plays a song with very strange lyrics.
About Key & Peele:
Key & Peele showcases the fearless wit of stars Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele as the duo takes on everything from "Gremlins 2" to systemic racism. With an array of sketches as wide-reaching as they are cringingly accurate, the pair has created a bevy of classic characters, including Wendell, the players of the East/West Bowl and President Obama's Anger Translator.

Every lyric is the trigger phrase for a sleeper agent somewhere around the world
This comment is super underrated.

Misha Petrovic reporting in.
"Got a pocket full of funky, with a peppermint twist" is possibly the funkiest phrase to have ever been phrased.
THANK YOU I feel like people don't appreciate that enough, I'm so jealous I didn't come up with it.
@glurpda Right lmao. Just pure, perfect comedy 😂
I'm partial to "penicillin trap door laser currrency beans" myself

This is a perfect sketch. Everything in it is absolutely on point, from the weird lyrics to the one white guy with the long blond hair and beard and everything in between.
Only the thing missing is the World Famous, Ambidextrous, Disco Flute Player, RJ Sizzle

"Deep fried Detroit soda train" 😂😂😂
Also, they're both playing bass.
You can’t have too much bass
It's easier for a non-musician to pretend to play the base than pretend to play the guitar. It's also really easy to pretend to play the piano provided you are behind the piano
actually more bass just makes it funkier@@TheWhippingPost
It's like George and Bootsy, but they're both Bootsy
I'm a bass player and I didn't even notice that!
I love the intensity of Jordan's delivery at 1:27, as if he was singing the most profound, emotional lyric ever written LOL.
I played this at a party mixed in with other funk music, and nobody batted an eye.
I can easily believe this. Well done!

My dad was the drums! He told me all about your dad's crazy style! Man, the stories I could tell! Good times
My grandfather was actually the singer with the red on, Stiffy Cartwheelz. I'm really sorry about what he did to your dad. I don't understand why people like him get to live out their lives in the end instead of facing justice.

This goes hard. I'm not even sure that this qualifies as parody cause it is a completely believable funk song
It reminds me of that scene in "The Other Guys" where Mark Wahlberg learned to dance sarcastically to make fun of kids who took dance classes.
Except this is real life, and they're literally that talented lol.
These guys were way above SNL's paygrade.
My same thought exactly. I was like, "I'm pretty sure this was on one of my mom's Earth, Wind and Fire albums..."
@@michaelmagill5466 this is why they should’ve never ended MadTv because they killed it on that show
This should be on spotify
Defo believable funk from the video quality, to the one blonde white guy in the band, to the lyrics and delivery. Super fucked up actually.
"Slick crawfish solar blast with a phosphorescent brain." Pure poetry.
"tickle beef sneeze"
I said crippled donkey Mel Brooks book train!
I sometimes listen to this at work and driving down the road as a picker upper
😄😄😄
The production team that make these period accurate pieces (both the costumes and the aged video quality) doesn't get enough credit
the hair stylists on K&P should have gotten multiple Emmy awards for their works
I think everyone can stop making comments about giving people enough credit. Since when do people do things to be recognized by petty awards and acclaim? So what if someone doesn’t recognize the drums everyone hears it regardless if they want too and it effects them even if they think drums don’t matter they would just be ignorant. Isn’t existing happily merely enough? Why this complicated division of recognition by people outside of your field? Which would mean nothing but flattery anyway.
