Meh truth be told Ultima never had brilliant boss fights but that was mainly due to hardware limitations so Richard Garriott after Ultima 2 decided to take a more puzzle based approach to the boss from Exodus on and honestly it works for the series and helped establish the having a option of non conflict boss resolutions in alot of western RPGs such as Fallout 1, Planescape: Torment, ect. yeah you could still have a epic battle which I always liked but it's nice to have the option of avoiding it
Well.. i think i'll rephrase what i said, fuck 'combat gameplay'. The game itself had a frightening amount of puzzles to solve, when i first got the game as a kid i couldn't even figure out how to join the necromancers. This game had a tonne of adventure elements in probably one of the eeriest settings i've seen in a game. The immersion i felt with this game was incredible.
this game got such a bad rap, but i thought it was fucking sweet, scared the shit out of me as a kid, fuck gameplay, sound effects and art make a great game :)
my todo list double click axe hammer and dagger dead peasant I wonder if you can bring to stratos Titan of ether say need back rock bigger than head go to guard in slayer quest!? with skull of quakes!? confusion blast on enemies grant peace on ground scroll of dispell in water in slayer quest
I think hall of the mountain king is obsidian fortress do you know how to harvest obsidian I wonder if you are not supposed to kill pyros release him like hydros to burn out sea block of ice on pagan map
Indeed becaude Electronic Arts imposed impossibly tight delays to release the game which didn't grant Origin Systems enough time to actually complete anything, this is why this game is full of unfinished everything.
better than Ultima IX's lame "planes" of the titans where you must break down a card stack skyscrapper in the "abyss" in order to see lord british duel with blackthorn in a watermellon fight and a few witty words of insult.(meh) at least now you are in the REAL planes, not the EA fake pretend planes of the titans.
UA-cam just recomended me this. I have no idea what it is but i found it kinda funny how quickly he just died.
well, that was...quick
Ultima 8 would be a great RPG if someone could remove so many super-mario action
I liked the action oriented fighting! they should have added more RP elements while still keeping the action oriented avatar's acrobatics

the point of ultima is there is no need of "boss fights" so nintendo.

Man! And I thought the final villain in Path of the Furon was super easy.

"NOT POSSIBLE"
Can someone explain to me how did the boss die in a second?
He used the tongue of fire
I wonder why didn't they sue Blizzard for that...
Indeed.
playing western rpg for story lines, plays Jrpgs for not disappointing boss fights
Since when?
You have the tongue of flames?! At end I read you need blackrock larger than head and tongue of flames should never enter ring
Singleplayer UO ;D
Did Avatar fucking jump?
@clubpokemon224 Wasn't the programing also plagued with severe glitches and incompletions?

this is all of boss battle? WTF
Ultima as a series isn't exactly known for 'boss battles'.

I think you need this guy tomelt icicle for oaken slayer
that was easy

Well....that boss battle was lame
@HawtLurve90 as a game its ok but when you compare it to the games previous to the series it is a huge disappointment :(
Funny you say art, cause the art of this game sucked, only the music and sound was good.
