River Otter Caught on Camera - Elizabeth River Project

ELIZABETH RIVER PROJECT AND RIVER OTTER ECOLOGY PROJECT COLLABORATE TO CELEBRATE & STUDY RETURN OF RIVER OTTERS
The return of river otters, once a rare sight on the urban, degraded Elizabeth River, has inspired a new collaboration between the non-profit Elizabeth River Project, leading restoration of the river, and two national organizations promoting community science to understand and protect river
otters.
The River Oter Ecology Project, based in California, and FieldScope, a community data tracking program out of Colorado, recently chose two rivers to expand the popular community science program, “Otter Spotters.” One of the rivers is in Arizona. The other is the Elizabeth River, where otters are routinely reported with the waterway’s returning health.
