*nerds* One of the interesting things about the music to this game, is that it is on the PS1 disc as is and can be played in Windows Media Player. The format extension of the music is fake, and is .WAV wave format. The music, also does not actually repeat like its later sequels can. For example, the boss music we hear is about 2 minutes long. You will never actually hear the full 2 minute clip because of how the boss area is designed. Stage 1 ninja boss is only up to 1 minute long, and the 2nd boss fight with Sherudo, is probably no longer than 1 1/2 minutes if you let time run down.
I remember if Sherudo throws a knife at you right before his last shot, you actually have to hide right after, otherwise you get hit. I learned this the hard way with only one life left and met with a continue and a boss fight reset. RIP
I played this in the arcade over and over until I could do it in my sleep, never got tired of it. They finally replaced it with something else, and none of the future versions gave the same rush. What a shame.
+Mathew Steele yeah I know that feeling, TC1 is just about going as fast as possible, while the rest of the series is mainly about scoring and combos, the arcade version is great
Haha that Ridge Racer voice. "Action" "Reload" "Ok it's the final lap. Hang in there" I wanna hear him say something uncharacteristically depressing like "My wife's leaving me. Oh nooo"
Love this run, I've gotten so close to your time but just can't quite get it :P I played Time Crisis 5 for the first time today also, finished it because it isn't quite complete yet, strange that a sort of 'pre-release' version has been made :/ I'm not a huge fan of it in all honesty, the dual-pedal system is interesting but the game doesn't feel quite right. Nothing is better than this and TC2 :P
I'm curious, how do you avoid a single hit in a game: A) where damage is random chance and. B) before you could effectively predict it. I.E. the 'crisis flash'?
Great job! Man, you have fast reflexes overall! What is the WR for the fastest time for Time Crisis and for score attack with the second, third and fourth game? (Default settings only)
Nice work! :) I could never get on with the PS1 version, the framerate felt a lot more choppy than the arcade. The arcade was 60fps and the PS1 version maybe 30fps? This game was huge back in the day, I remember in the town centre where I live there used to be 3 TC1 cabs 5minutes within walking distance with a few of us battling out on the scoreboards for the fastest time, it was great. Is it possible to use a gun on the Mame version?
exmosquito I've only got good at the game since it went from the arcades around here. Am trying to get the arcade version set up here next, would be better than MAME
Can't believe I missed that one. Amazing job! I'm wondering though, it seems you are not afraid of a few stray, possibly fatal bullets hitting you, especially in some parts where you start in front of 5 people firing at the same time. Is the enemy accuracy scripted? Is it impossible for a normal gunman to kill you with one bullet, so you take care of the red soldier first and then take care of the rest with no risk? Or do you take a slight risk of losing a life when doing so? Kinda curious on that one, though I'm imagining you're not taking risks in a 10+ minute run. Thanks in advance!
For PS1 games I've used an old unbranded capture card that works with low resolutions in this video, also have used a pexhdcap in other videos. Cheap USB devices should give a similar quality too, if you use a PS cable that outputs both composite and S-Video at the same time, and putting the S-Video output into the capture device.
I have 2 big CRT TVs side by side with 2 playstation 2s hooked up to each other with an iLink cable, then you can do 2 player and each have a tv to yourself lol. Takes up a bit of space!
I'm still remember how many 'trolling' action sequences are in stage 2 and ridiculous difficulty(complete the whole game without memorising much) and rush feeling from the insta-death timer lol until TC2 where scoring system(and crisis-sight system) come to play and that means hit count+time bonus(especialt in TC5 but with a accuracy bonus)matters your score. And weirdly,TC1 is the only game that have life extension in the main series. However i still prefer the arcade version mainly because the gun from gunbullet andn hope namco gonna re-release this classic with 3 digit millisecond timing measurement rather than 2.
I think at the sherudo fight if you shoot fast enough the regular soldiers will do The animation sherudo has for when he takes damage. It is quite obvious but I am pointing it out anyway
how i miss the times when fighting a boss in TC1 and TCPT was much better like shooting 1 time made them flee for awahile to recover and then attacking you again now they make bosses like (more than) armored veichles just and for the score lol
YumiFireHeart - YFH You can but it actually wastes more time waiting for the forklift to tip over after the explosion. It's quicker to just Swiss cheese the baddies before they can hide
I played this in the arcade over and over until I could do it in my sleep, never got tired of it. They finally replaced it with something else, and none of the future versions gave the same rush. What a shame.
+Dv RH- yeah TC1 is all unique in its gameplay, but it is a bit too hard for the casual arcade gamer, even for the time of release, the changes in TC2 made it much more successful, but it leaves opinions open on what the better game is
Even with all these modern, beautifully orchestrated soundtracks in video games now, Wild Dog's theme in TC1 is my favourite boss theme of all time.
None of his themes after this one really could live up to the original.

It now explains the high quality of the tracks
its sad that arcade games are dying out
Oh shit imagine if this was remade.
They'd find a way to ruin it but would be cool to see this amazing game with better graphics though!
I'm getting a "Castle of Count Cagleostro" vibe from this
I remember if Sherudo throws a knife at you right before his last shot, you actually have to hide right after, otherwise you get hit. I learned this the hard way with only one life left and met with a continue and a boss fight reset. RIP
Dont come its a trap OH NOOOOO
kennedy072 jajaja
I Do Love That Ending Theme Tune And It Also Make Me Want To Dance Too
"Shhhucks."
Amazing playing!
It seems that you know how to get fast time.
High accuracy, speed, and place to stay of the enemies!
I still remember all the sequences!
I played this in the arcade over and over until I could do it in my sleep, never got tired of it. They finally replaced it with something else, and none of the future versions gave the same rush. What a shame.

They need to remake this game in VR
This game was my life :')
Haha that Ridge Racer voice.
"Action"
"Reload"
"Ok it's the final lap. Hang in there"
I wanna hear him say something uncharacteristically depressing like "My wife's leaving me. Oh nooo"
You know he also voices Sherudo? :D
If you played this on PS1 with the gun you can plug your controller into the 2nd port and use your foot to step on it for cover
But wouldn't that break it?
No unless you really stamp hard on it. I used to play it like that to feel like i was in the arcade.
+btx s yeah, you can do this with other games too, and other controllers like arcade sticks, it feels a bit strange still though
I always played with one hand on the gun, so the other controller was in the left hand. Still do lol.
By the time I realised that - it felt too awkward. Instead I just held my G-Con lightgun like some sort of rifle
4:08 My brain trying to tell me to survive No Nut November
Good job, Bro!

The ending credits song remember one of Megaman Battle Network Staff Roll song oO

You do very well in this game; I never had beaten the game with one credit. :P
Im guessing Smraedis is happy a fifth game is made :)
there's two guys @ 1:00 on the overpass thingy, wonder if you can shoot them... never noticed before
Yes you can think it gives +2 or 5 secs reward
Great job! Man, you have fast reflexes overall! What is the WR for the fastest time for Time Crisis and for score attack with the second, third and fourth game? (Default settings only)
TC2: 2307020
TC3: 4994880
TC4: 8034190
Impressive! Is it with/without continues?
without
***** these are all the records that are in Arcadia magazine
TC1 (AC) is apparently 09'35"05
TC4: 8036280 from HZH
Stage 1 0:01
Stage 2 5:04
Stage 3 10:48
guard: get him!

Hi, great job! I was wondering which version you're playing because when I play, I notice that stage one-area one is 51seconds for me.
Can't believe I missed that one. Amazing job! Old video comment, But I'm curious. How did you capture the footage?
For PS1 games I've used an old unbranded capture card that works with low resolutions in this video, also have used a pexhdcap in other videos.
Cheap USB devices should give a similar quality too, if you use a PS cable that outputs both composite and S-Video at the same time, and putting the S-Video output into the capture device.
Thank you :D
I haven't played this in years!
I still kinda dont get the +2 and +5 seconds bonus, does that function help the time attack or the time limit you have?
+gunboss201 it adds to the next time extension, but doesn't really help me much since the time caps at 60 seconds
So what's next for you after this? Considering it's been a few months since your last upload.
"dont come!" :D
That voice acting, tho...
***** I don't get it...what's wrong with the VA in this game?
Why are people keep saying that the VA is funny?
can someone please explain?
Jonathan K I dunno. It just sounds narmy and all that. /shrug/ Eh... I guess age has something to do with it.
***** 'narmy'?
Jonathan K As in it sounds cheesy or off.
I have 2 big CRT TVs side by side with 2 playstation 2s hooked up to each other with an iLink cable, then you can do 2 player and each have a tv to yourself lol. Takes up a bit of space!
Great run bro. Ever thought about submitting this to Speed Demos Archive?
Also, is a sub 10 possibly?
F2FRONT500 it's not possible on the port, is possible on the arcade version
Why? Lags less?
F2FRONT500 some things just go quicker on the arcade, movement between scenes is the main one
nashismox3 The Guncon1/G-Con 45 only works on the PAL version of TC3 for some reason
Why Not Shoot The Thing To Make The Steel Bars Go Down On Stage 2, Area 1?
Which guncon do use you in this video ??
Smraedis, you need to do a did you know gaming about Time Crisis, PLEASE
wait
Is Serudo Garo the main Boss? because i heard wild dog says "you kill my boss"
Muhammad Rizki Pasaribu "How could you!?" as though we should have taken his delicate emotional sensibilities into account
I found the arcade machine of this when i was on holiday in Blackpool,England i only got to the 2nd level lol
Oh I used to play it there! The gun doesn't work well anymore so there isn't much point now
Smraedis Yeah but i quite enjoyed it because it was the first the first time i had found a time crisis arcade machine
Smraedis So, do you have any idea of what your next video will be?
I'm still remember how many 'trolling' action sequences are in stage 2 and ridiculous difficulty(complete the whole game without memorising much) and rush feeling from the insta-death timer lol until TC2 where scoring system(and crisis-sight system) come to play and that means hit count+time bonus(especialt in TC5 but with a accuracy bonus)matters your score.

All boss Fighting
Still a better love story than twilight
Christopher Patu What the fuck yo
something the matter?
Gotta agree
I think at the sherudo fight if you shoot fast enough the regular soldiers will do The animation sherudo has for when he takes damage. It is quite obvious but I am pointing it out anyway
+Awsomegra yeah, the other knife throwers have the same post-shot behaviour, they must have copied some routine code there
Do you use an emulator? And if you do, how do you use the gun?
I played this on console using the original Guncon with a CRT
Smraedis Arcade Superplays what type of capture card do you use? :P
Advertisement-free.
how i miss the times when fighting a boss in TC1 and TCPT was much better like shooting 1 time made them flee for awahile to recover and then attacking you again now they make bosses like (more than) armored veichles just and for the score lol
wow,Im like this light gun game,IM IS WINNER
18:01 18:02
The ripped the music from Speed (1994)
I think u can blow up the box in the forklift (area 1 stage 1 - 1:38 )! :)
YumiFireHeart - YFH You can but it actually wastes more time waiting for the forklift to tip over after the explosion. It's quicker to just Swiss cheese the baddies before they can hide
11:11
6발짜리 딱총이 무한인게 신기 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Can this really be called a No Damage Speedrun? You got hit at least 8 times...
lalat
Woi kiki,Lebih baik klau kau Bali!!
Wow,The Stage 1 Boss Is WAY too Easy.I beat him in 10 seconds when i played the game.
or lets say the game is too easy
Since he is the first boss in the original game and the entire series so…why not?
This is made of exactly 1 pixel lol
I played this in the arcade over and over until I could do it in my sleep, never got tired of it. They finally replaced it with something else, and none of the future versions gave the same rush. What a shame.
