- Watch a complete 2 Player Link Mode run on Time Crisis 2 / タイムクライシス2 on the console port with very high scoring. Played on 2 Screens and 2 PlayStation 2s.
As this is a high scoring run on Time Crisis 2, there are parts where it is better for score if only 1 player shoots the enemies, to stop combos being interrupted and reduce the maximum points per combo, there are areas where going as fast as possible is better for the time bonus too.
Changes in Link play to Solo play - Both players are stuck with their own routes, P1 side always gets the routes taken by shooting the left enemy, and P2 always gets the right routes.
Enemies shoot more, this most likely is because, with 2 players playing, that enemies would get taken down quicker. The section with Wild Dog at the end of 3-1 is much harder on Link Mode.

In response to all the comments about me doing TC3 and TC4, we've made this video as Time Crisis 2 is much more enjoyable to watch as a 2 player run, and if you are going for high scoring in TC3, the best way to play is to just let one person play at a time, and I don't have any way to record a link game on TC4, as the port doesn't allow it

Yeah, this is what I don't like about TC5. They don't look like they are related to their TC2 counterparts including Wild Dog, not to mention lots of cheese factor in that game.

Even with time gap between the 2 games, they're still out of character. In tc2, Keith and Robert looked like typical agents, barely talked but kicked the bad guys ass with style. in tc5 Keith is portrayed like an anime male character with a sword and eye patch and Robert is dressed a classy thug guy, foulmouthed. Wild dog in tc2 looked like a lethal killer, tc5 he looked like a vilain from a kids show.
From what was in the TC5 lore the VSSE has advanced with their agent's traning from simple being good shooters. Part of this advancement involved the development a Drug that would enhance human abilities which the 2 Main Character in TC5 use to give them their super speed. However, the VSSE went to extreme lengths to cover up the inhumane crimes they commited to perfect and develop this drug. This goes back into Keith's failed mission that was mentioned and Robert's actions in TC5.
Sometime after TC2 Keith became a solo agent and Robert went up the VSSE ladder in rank but Robert kept a strong hatred for the VSSE for covering up their crimes involving the development of the Drug.
I remember playing this at the mall arcade with my friends. I miss it so much

Yes. TC2 is an enhanced port of the arcade version. Also, it's far better than the arcade in graphics and gameplay.

I haven't seen much of what player 2 is doing in area 1 cuz player 2 seems to be letting player 1 do all the job.maybe it is a challenge for player 2 to beat player 1 when player 1 has headstart

What is link mode?
You have to connect two playstation 2 systems to 2 different tvs.
So, one console for each player is mandatory? No "daisy-chain" on the same system?
I only make it to area 2 of stage 2 and I run out of quarters.

I'm acquiring hardware and cabling for i-Linking a pair of consoles but am wondering the scope of accessories / peripherals support in i-Link mode :
1. ) Does i-Link support double guns for each POV and, if so,
2. ) how are combos tallied - each POV's gun or across both light guns from a given POV?
3. ) Building upon above, how would each POV's pedal or pedals be implemented ( one pedal or two for each POV = 2 or 4 pedals total in an i-Link ) and
4. ) are there any particular pedal brands / manufacturers or designs to avoid?
Link mode doesn't feature Double Guns.

hi guys, caught this from hokoto no' blog. I have built an iLink setup with 2 identical TVs specifically fke the Time Crisis series. I gotta ask you professionals, 1. what guns are you using? 2. are you using foot pedals? 3. what game do you enjoy most of the time crisis series!?

1: the original GunCon/G-Con 45 guns
2: no footpedals, no
3: 1-4 all have their own positives, I enjoy the scoring in TC4, but TC2 is just about the most enjoyable for me
