@DoDonPachi SaiDaiOuJou 26:17 They're really quite funny - but obviously they work best if you've watchied the scenes play out properly during the game first. Classic Sega goofiness. More games should have bloopers while the credits roll :)
This game always made me think "Sega really wanted to make a Bond game but couldn't get the license so they just went 'fuck it' and made their own spy character who just happens to look kinda like Bond." At the time of this game being made this would have been when EA had the Bond license (but to be fair that wasn't a bad thing at the time as EA's infamous reputation came much later, and the Bond games we did get from them were actually really good).
Wow, this game is pretty solid. Cheesy dialogue, good-for-the-era graphics, tight gameplay... Super creative, too. Like it came straight out of AM2. I wonder who made it... **looks up game** ... ... ... Oh. Hitmaker. aka, AM3. Derp. XD ... I have always been amused with the clown car quality of how many enemies and civilians are packed into an area in these games. It's a staple of the genre, but that train just about demonstrates it without breaking a sweat nor the mood. X3 Man, you're good at these games. I mean, like, really good. :o
If 3-shot and justice shot is possible, does that mean that each enemy can take up to 4 hits (excluding headshots which Time Crisis 5 will do the same thing but with more points earned per individual continuous headhit)? Regarding the quick time events, I guess the purpose of going slow is to somewhat prevent players from trying to memorise the pattern and giving a sense of urgency (last second or less means a make or break with that shot).
Regarding the final boss, I am impressed that you managed to shoot down all the grenades he throws and shoot him before he fires a shot (most players I have seen will get hit by the boss shot or by the grenades if they go for the boss when he appears).
Arcadia says their record is over 3 million? I'm trying to imagine eking out another 20% of your score from this and it's just not clicking with me. I could have seen MAYBE 2.7 million but not 3. I actually thought the start of stage 2 seemed lenient with its enemy timings at first... but one, I'm outside staring in on this, and two, the boss of the stage makes me think of Lethal Enforcers's rank situation (or at least the extent of what I've heard of it) with how fast it ultimately gets.
I dunno how with the scoring either, but thinking every shot missed is just over 1000, every Justice shot missed is 1500, but with no videos available, I don't know Some of the enemy timings on Stage 2 are really tight, it's usually when I shoot a lot quicker, as I was getting hit when trying to aim
Not to mention Barry Gjerde previously had a voicing role in Crisis Zone, voiced Red from Megaman X7 (Rockman X7 in Japan) and Joseph from Deadstorm Pirates.
My local arcade had this game and its the inner screen version instead of flat screen (like the old Virtua Cop 2 machines). So the start button is mounted vertically onto the machine. And its very very hard to pull the QTE off if i havent lose a life beforehand
A sort of electronic stealth suit which the stealth part only activates when the boss covers his entire body including the head with it? To be fair, the dress suit that Wild Dog wore in Time Crisis 5 is not bad, just missing the trenchcoat which the only games which Wild Dog does not have are Time Crisis: Project Titan (though he was attacking from a helicopter right from the start when he appeared), Time Crisis Strike and Time Crisis 2nd Strike (his appearance in this one is the closest to his later Time Crisis 5 appearance).
Impressive! The scoring penalty such as using a continue, shooting hostages or protecting a civilian is pretty nasty especially when going for a high score... And of course difference to Virtua Cop 1 and 2, and Ghost Squad, this shoves a lot of civilians making it easier to accidentally shoot them... Well looking forward to your great replay! Also, have you heard of the latest news on House of the Dead Scarlet Dawn about to be released in Japan? What do you think about it?
I think the penalty for continuing is there to stop any credit feeding milking strats, the civilians aren't too much of a pain once you have remembered them all I haven't had a look at the new HOTD game yet, I will once I get the chance to play it
Most shmups has a nasty penalty (all the time) with resetting the player's score to 0 so that way players can stop from having the need to credit feed (unless they are practicing).
Man i played all these games I guess in a sense I got lucky to be born in the back half of the 90s. Time crisis Area 51 crisis zone house of the dead even the cool racing games wish arcades were still a thing.
I got a few suggestions for this channel... games you should try since I used to play 'em ALOT! They are House Of The Dead 3 (PS3), HOTD 2 (Arcade Version), HOTD 1 (Arcade as well), HOTD: Overkill/Extended Cut (Consoles or PC Version, doesn't really matter), HOTD 4: Special, HOTD: Scarlet Dawn (possibly next), Time Crisis 5 (Arcade), the rest of Time Crisis Series 1, 2, 3, 4 & even Crisis Zone the Arcade Version (New Special Chapters, Modes, Crisis Missions, etc., To cover 'em all, I do wanna see all of it), Silent Scope Series, Virtua Cop 2 & 3, Dark Escape 4D, Police 911 and maybe Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles not Darkside tho.
Hey @Smraedis, Not sure if you'll see this but do you have a link to the Time Crisis discord? I fell in love with Time Crisis 2 and wanna give speedrunning it a red hot crack and I just had a few questions about that. Also, great video as always; love watching you master these games. PS - Hey real quick, which light gun is better to use for the ps2 light gun shooters? The PS1 guncon1 or the PS2 guncon2?
You're right about the PS1 Guncon being better. The trigger on later GC models (2 & 3) is not as easy to fire rapidly with. Well played, Smraedis. Thanks so much for sharing this replay. I like the voice overs in Confidential Mission- sometimes even more hilarious than HOTD's. The end-credit bloopers are awesome.
For light-gun games, I'd only use autofire if the game had it, the arcade version of this game doesn't have an autofire, but has the assault rifle weapon at periods
I always loved the minor detail that if you fail the gas plug minigame the enemies attacking you come with gasmasks equiped
It's cute how Gibson's VA REALLY tries to do an American version of Sean Connery.
UltimaKeyMaster it's so hilarous to hear him speak, not gonna lie
Just like similar on James Bond
I'm always impressed by your gameplay, Smraedis.
Many thanks! It is nice to hear
I like the fact that the shot in the crotch is called there "Justice shot"
24:34 I can’t stop laughing 😂😂😂😂😂

Hah, gotta love how this game has Bloopers of all things!
@DoDonPachi SaiDaiOuJou 26:17 They're really quite funny - but obviously they work best if you've watchied the scenes play out properly during the game first. Classic Sega goofiness. More games should have bloopers while the credits roll :)
The memories playing this at the mall with my brothers.

The intro voice over is like text-to-speech Kermit the Frog.
Thank you for doing a score run of this game. Was just thinking I'd like to see you tackle this!
Happy to hear it, I enjoyed this game more than I thought I would
I've waited too long for someone on UA-cam to do this game right. Thank you for uploading this!
No problem, I enjoyed making this

Yeah, the game is a lot better than I thought it would be, shame it wasn't so successful
Many thanks too!

It is just 3 shots per enemy, you have to get the Justice shot on the first shot to get the points too
Very impressive job!
Regarding the final boss, I am impressed that you managed to shoot down all the grenades he throws and shoot him before he fires a shot (most players I have seen will get hit by the boss shot or by the grenades if they go for the boss when he appears).
Thanks!
At first, the final boss feels impossible, but it only took a bit of practice to get it down
You deserve more subs. Excellent job.

Great run mate, glad you got around to doing this one :)
Thanks, onwards to the next game
The guy agent sounds like Barry from the PS1 Resident Evil.
That's because the same voice actor played both!
Not to mention Barry Gjerde previously had a voicing role in Crisis Zone, voiced Red from Megaman X7 (Rockman X7 in Japan) and Joseph from Deadstorm Pirates.

That doesn't sound like fun at all, I'm glad I've been able to put my Track & Field skills to use on this!
what the HELL is the final boss wearing!? He looks even more ridiculous than Wild Dog in TC5!
Haha, I know right!
@@Smraedis But you didn't answer his question.
Nice run. Always good to see you master lightgun games.
What was your setup for this one? You played on Naomi?
Yeah, this is emulation of the Naomi version, not had access to a machine with this for many years
I wonder why the submarine part is different on the arcade version and on the SEGA Dreamcast version

AnimeHokageHD Reminds of Zombie Revenge (yes, I have watched gameplay videos of that game and saw that continuing resets the score to 0).
It is virtua cop in spy style

Great shooting 🔫 Tex 🤠👍🏽.
I remember playing this at the Hanover Mall Arcade
U always stay calm when u shoot.I am impressed.
Is that not damage at 5:18 , 15:21 then ?
Huh. I just realized the final boss using mirrors to render himself invisible...the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish in Die Another Day stole that idea!
In Dreamcast Version no Laser Sights
Shoot the infantry walking the catwalk at about 18:32 , he will drop life-up attache case.
i found this game at the local arcade with 9 coins inserted by someone before me and i manage made to stage 2 with it
It is pretty difficult at first yeah
Is this meant to be a spin-off title to Virtua Cop? I had never heard of or seen this game until now.
which lightgun do you use?
Hey @Smraedis,

I'm not aware of a Discord, I don't use it much
Thanks, the PS1 Guncon is better, but the Guncon2 is manageable too
Cool cool; thanks Smraedis!

@@Smraedis hey Smraedis, why is the GunCon 1 better than the GunCon 2? Not that I don't believe you, on the contrary, you'd know better than anyone.
This game is look like virtua cop series
26:30
Imagine this scene had been tried in mortal kombat
How did you change the language to English?
15:20 It is just me or rocket didn't do any damage to player?
The body armor seen in the lower left corner absorbed the damage instead.
Oh, I didn't see vest until now.
Thanks
The gun they’re using is a P99 Suppressor
What light gun did you use? Wiimote maybe?
This is bloopers + behind the scenes
0:42 and 0:44: It’s over, Agent Gibson! Prepare to DIE! (2:19, 2:21, 3:09 and 3:11)
0:58 and 0:59: Watch the civilians, don’t shoot them!
6:09: HAHAHAHA! (6:11)
7:20: AAAH! (6:18, 6:20, 6:21 and 6:25) (1:39, 5:12 and 5:19) (6:29, 6:36 and 6:49) (13:02)
15:21: DAMAGE! (5:18)
24:33 and 24:38: TAKE THAT!
26:18: Bloopers!
Thank god that body armor saved his life
Spiffy work! Definitely not one I encountered back in the day.
For some reason it wasn't as popular as other games, when VC3 came out, I barely saw this anywhere
Wow or.............. wait? Is that a spinoff of Time Crisis?!
I like how the heavily body armored enemies still die with one bullet. Makes one wonder why they have them on in the first place. 😂🤣
This is fight agares soldier.
Oh. Sidearms. Sidearms backwards. Why?
Yo this game should be on the Nintendo switch yo I wish I had a chance to play that game looks cool
Great gameplay but you do have damage at 5:18.
Body Armor doesn't count since he didn't 'lose a life'.
I wish for 2 players
Why don’t you use the autofire
For light-gun games, I'd only use autofire if the game had it, the arcade version of this game doesn't have an autofire, but has the assault rifle weapon at periods
