The original Glock mags didn’t have the metal liner that they do now. They would swell slightly when loaded and most times you would have to pull them out if they were full. I’ve never had any problem loading any of the modern ones.

Yep, have both. Love my 1911, but the Glock has never missed a beat and if you have a model 21 or 41, you have 13 rounds of 45 ACP and both are easy to gripp. The trigger is DA only and to me, adds some built in safety. You don't have to hate the Glock to appreciate the beauty of a 1911.

I love a 1911, none better. But I carried a Glock 19 for nearly 20 years out of my 30 as a police officer. It is strictly a utility weapon, it’s not meant to be pretty, slick, or stylish. Mine never failed on the range or on the streets. It’s just a dependable tool. I’ve been retired now for 15 years, still carry that same Glock. But I love my 1911s.

I like the Glock simply for its reliability and mag capacity. And it’s easier to CCW. I learned to shoot and maintain on a 1911 when I was 12. If I had to choose only one, I would choose a 1911.
Yeah, I've never had a problem with glock magazines. But then again, I don't buy third party magazines. I always go with OEM and it just doesn't pay to go with cheap mags unless you want problems.

A massive misconception is the US just kinda was watching from the sidelines, until the tail end, when in all actuality, without the munitions, resources, and foodstuffs provided in the opening months to the Allies from the US stopped the war from being the war that would be over by Christmas that the Germans thought it was going to be. Places like Britain were embarrassingly underequipt (they only had like 800k rifles while germany had a little under 5 milion.), since the only reason like literally half of the mother fuckers were in there was because they had pacts that said they had to.

I own a first Gen Glock 23 and a 1911A1 clone and I can say the Glock may not be pretty or fancy but it works damn well and I’ve never had an issue with it as a EDC

I own few of both and both are beautiful in their own respective way. 1911 is a piece of art, has a history that preceded it, beautiful and solid. Glocks are modern, practical, reliable and hold more than double of ammunition. Why to choose between them when I can have both!.
That’s kind of what I’d say. Although the Glock, aesthetically speaking, is a bit more “Lego” and robotic, it still works and nothing cycles faster, and you can usually pick one up for less than $1k. I love M1911’s, but I don’t hate Glocks, that’s silly, in fact, all the haters here can kiss my nice phat pro-gun Canadian a$$. He had to make sure his Glock needed lube and the magazine had a defect. Anyone who runs down the other product really can’t be trusted.
@grahambrown1980 the magazine didn't have a defect , it's plastic just like most the glock is plastic, its insane to expect cheap recycled bottle plastic to do well, the average glock explodes before 1000 rounds have been fired through it because the plastic becomes more brittle with every shot
I like the look of a baretta M92FS, but i wish i could find one chambered in .45. Not that i hate on 9mm, its a reliable round and its all you need for self defense. I just like .45 because its fun to shoot at my home range.
I have a 92D. Double action only, no safety, recessed hammer and fixed combat sights. I can throw it down the stairs, hammer nails with it and still put 16 rounds in the black.
Neither has any real person in the world. Thousands and thousands of rounds out of three different capacities. Never had a malfunction loading or firing.

As a retired LE with 22 yrs of service, all I carried was a Glock because they were cheap, we beat the living tar out of them in training, and not once did it ever let me down. Tough little bastard. Meanwhile the touchy 1911's were stove-piping, double feeding, and needed to be meticulously cleaned every 100 or so rounds to avoid malfunctions. But yeah, they look cool.

What 1911 are you using that jams? Only issue I've had was that one of the Kimber magazines I bought had the metal follower getting stuck towards the top of it. Took it apart and sanded it down on both sides then I polished it. Problem solved. I've heard that hollow points can get hung up on the feed ramps in some of them, but a quick polishing eliminates that as well.
He was holding the baseplate removed from the magazine and released it with his hand. Also, the Glock magazine is metal as well, just surrounded by polymer.
Got both. Love 'em both. My 40 S&W Glock is on my nightstand; eight may not be enough. The 1911 shoots better with me; has a great trigger pull. 1911 is much harder to field strip. Both have advantages and disadvantages.

I have been shooting Glocks for over 5 years now and I have never had magazine issues. I can load 17 rounds into a Glock 17 mag and it will work perfectly.

Yep, have both. Love my 1911, but the Glock has never missed a beat and if you have a model 21 or 41, you have 13 rounds of 45 ACP and both are easy to gripp. The trigger is DA only and to me, adds some built in safety. You don't have to hate the Glock to appreciate the beauty of a 1911.

I love a 1911, none better. But I carried a Glock 19 for nearly 20 years out of my 30 as a police officer. It is strictly a utility weapon, it’s not meant to be pretty, slick, or stylish. Mine never failed on the range or on the streets. It’s just a dependable tool. I’ve been retired now for 15 years, still carry that same Glock. But I love my 1911s.

I like the Glock simply for its reliability and mag capacity. And it’s easier to CCW. I learned to shoot and maintain on a 1911 when I was 12. If I had to choose only one, I would choose a 1911.

That’s kind of what I’d say. Although the Glock, aesthetically speaking, is a bit more “Lego” and robotic, it still works and nothing cycles faster, and you can usually pick one up for less than $1k.

@grahambrown1980 the magazine didn't have a defect , it's plastic just like most the glock is plastic, its insane to expect cheap recycled bottle plastic to do well, the average glock explodes before 1000 rounds have been fired through it because the plastic becomes more brittle with every shot

As a retired LE with 22 yrs of service, all I carried was a Glock because they were cheap, we beat the living tar out of them in training, and not once did it ever let me down. Tough little bastard. Meanwhile the touchy 1911's were stove-piping, double feeding, and needed to be meticulously cleaned every 100 or so rounds to avoid malfunctions. But yeah, they look cool.

What 1911 are you using that jams? Only issue I've had was that one of the Kimber magazines I bought had the metal follower getting stuck towards the top of it. Took it apart and sanded it down on both sides then I polished it. Problem solved. I've heard that hollow points can get hung up on the feed ramps in some of them, but a quick polishing eliminates that as well.

I have been shooting Glocks for over 5 years now and I have never had magazine issues. I can load 17 rounds into a Glock 17 mag and it will work perfectly.
