Nice truck man. I have a 03 RT that i also built my own turbo for. It has been sitting for many years due to "life". Any way, i am trying to get back at it and your videos are inspiring. I have owned my rt since 04 and its never leaving my side. Keep up the great videos, and happy racing!
Man I love these trucks! I've got 4 Durango's, and 3 Dakota's. I had been thinking about a hellcat swap. If you're getting that much out of the 5.9 magnum with a single turbo I bet it would be right up there with the hellcat if one twin turboed one and super charged it, then hit it with 150 shot of nos... That's what I should do with my RT Durango, it's a 01. The one I was wanting to hellcat swap is my quad cab with a 3.9, but shit if all that can be done to these magnum engines the I've already got my base platform to start with. Of course we will have to dive into the bottom end for all those extras.... Right now I'm driving my newest, it's a SLT Plus Durango that has the RT package in it. It's all wheel drive with the 392's and my blue plane SLT that I put the 4x4 transfercase out of my quad cab, to make it 4x4 instead of AWD. I live in Arkansas, I don't need that front end pulling unless I want it pulling. Anyway the blue one has 355 gears and will blow the doors off the newer one. I don't think I'm a fan of the AWD for sure! I believe it's robbing a lot of power!!!!
Nice truck! Compared to my Ram that engine compartment is tight! I'm running a Nitrous Express kit designed for the Magnums on mine and enjoying it for now. May consider going turbo down the road.
Thanks for watching!! The best way to do that is to get the 03-04 Dakota spindle. Then you can you mustang rotors and calibers. The 03-04 spindle uses bolts to hold the caliber/bracket assembly. Check this out! www.dakotart.com/forum/showthread.php?39115-6-TO-5-lug-convert-1999-Dakota-RT
Hey man you think an Ax15 would hold up to this kinda power cuz I wanna stay stick shift/manual trans in my 1st Gen Dakota Sport once I find a 360 Magnum
so idk shit abt cars and im abt to get a dakota from from my dad. it needs some work done before it can go in the road. but is putting a turbo in it the best way to make it go faster. and how do i make it loud other than the exhaust pipe ?
love the video and the truck. shes a beauty! im a mopar guy myself, always wanted one of these since i seen one in highschool. finaly got one but she needs some work. Im wanting to twin turbo, low boost mine. i dont know anything but feel like that would be solid and reliable at 8-10lbs? i am hip to the bottom end being made from nicer stronger materials however. im part of the RT group but they seem to be of---little help and mostly just tell you how its stupid to do one thing and to just go with --'insert bullshit here'--. hope you do more videos so i can learn.
@@ThatTurboDakota do you have any recomendations for turbo manifolds for trying twin turbo, or would i be stuck trying to find a way to make them myself? i dont even know what type of place to get that done at whether its an exhaust shop or what lol
Not sure about twins. You may be able to start out with a cheap pair of shorty headers and go from there. I would convert over to the Jeep Grand Cherokee power steering pump. It will give you more room on the drivers side
Nice built i have a 99 regular cab .. 25k original mike Solar yellow .. I’d like More info on the transmission. I’m in Connecticut.. how much power are you making .. How’s bottom end holding ..
Trans has CRT billet trans brake valve body, billet input, harden intermediate shaft, both billet drums, bolt in sprag, billet 4 pinion planet, red eagle clutch’s, solid front band, billet accumulator, converter from Ultimate transmission 10” billet with lock up
Dyno said 625 wheel hp. It’s been turbo for about 6 years now on the original bottom end. It’s definitely showing signs of wear. I’m thinking about going to the junkyard and getting another
Somewhere around 3400. It’s a smaller turbo (pte 6768) for the size of the motor but I’m only turning it out to 6k. That’s one of the reason it’s lasted so long

Interesting setup. I’m impressed. I had an 03 R/T. Currently have an ‘03 4.7, 5speed 4x4…

Hey man clean truck i am building one myself. I think i saw you run at mason dixon a few months ago.
I have a 98' r/t cc dakota. I would like to know your wheel and tire set up! Front and rear wheel size , and tire sizes please! Thanks!!!
I’m here for it thanks for the blueprint bro
Need a part number for those head studs man... I can't find studs for magnum build
Should be an ARP part number 144-4203
Nice Dakota...
Yo man, love the video. How about caliper upgrade? What did you go with? So far from what I've researched, it's not easy

Awesome video
Currently rewatching this and didn't realize you never gapped the rings , that's kind of impressive it holds together under what 17 or 18 lbs ?
@@nickstephens2913 those motors are built so loose. It really doesn’t even matter. The E85 helps too, keeps everything nice and cool.
@ThatTurboDakota definitely nice to know !
I'm building a 98 ss/t with the 360 magnum in it and im not sure where to start I want a very similar build.
Honestly, if I were to do it again, I just gen 3 hemi swap it. Even a 2009 and up 5.7 with a cam and valve spring will make good power
If I'm going to swap it, I'll get a hellcat probably.
thanks@@ThatTurboDakota
Hey man you think an Ax15 would hold up to this kinda power cuz I wanna stay stick shift/manual trans in my 1st Gen Dakota Sport once I find a 360 Magnum
I’m not sure if it will hold the torque but there’s only one way to find out!
How did you get a 5 lug wheel on the front? I am building a dodge Durango that has been lowers 3/4 drop
coolest video ever
keepin mine mostly stock with working a/c!
Great job.Would you build me a hot side kit? thanks joe

Sure! I’ll address that in my next video
Im building a TT dakota and need headers where is this one from

Thank you. Yes 8-10 will be fine. Mine has been running 10 for the last few years. The most important part is the tuning.

Can you link TTI's website? Only turbo manifold I've seen that isn't custom fabbed

Jegs Star wheels. 4-4.5 lug pattern. 10x15 rear and 17x4.5 front
At what rpm do you start making boost?
