I just ordered this PC. Can't wait! I'm not a gamer, but I just like the looks of it, and I work from home, so I do need a PC with decent specs to run all of my programs.

I purchased this system close to 2 years ago with the following specs.
    11th gen i7 with AIO
    16gb dual channel ram
    512 ssd
    Rtx 3080
    1000 watt psu..
    Dark side of the moon
Both mouse and keyboard (shown on video)
Paid just over 1800, i found that more than reasonable especially considering the gpu prices at the time.
It can get a bit loud at times but after getting a clean 60+ fps on BG3 at max settings on 4k/120 and well over 100 fps on 1080p/144 (32.9 ultrawide) im happy.
(4k/120 play is on a sony x90j TV, so i only assume better performance out of an actual 4k gaming monitor)
Temps seem to stay reasonable both on the cpu and gpu....consistent high 70's and an occasional foray into the early 80's on both seem to be what im seeing under heavy load after a couple hours.
All in all i still feel it was a great purchase with the only fault being the wait time on its delivery.
With constant holdups (who knows why?) It was a about 6 weeks before i received it.

Get the R13. They are significantly better. They use the much better alder lake county and has a cryo water cooling system. It has more fans, better RAM, a clear window, much more internal case room, and they moved the radiator to the back instead of on the top. Dell let me return my R10 that was over my return window.

Great video! I just ordered one of these from Ebay, without the GPU. I am going to put my current GTX 1060 in it which is really all I need for gaming. I currently have an old (12+ years?) Dell XPS gaming desktop and it is showing its age. One thing I will say is the case for this R12 does not look impressive at all. I probably will not have a heat issue, but that case is too small. It actually looks larger than it really is until you open it! I could care less about the lights and things like that. I will not be able to transfer all of the hard drives I have in my current system to this, and I would bet the motherboard in this Aurora will not fit in the XPS case. Anyhow, going from an i7 965 to the 11700 along with the SSD drive should give me a really nice upgrade in performance!

Used to be true that if you had knowledge, you could build your own for less money, but then the GPU price insanity happened. You'll be lucky if you can find a 3080 or 3090 at all, and when you do they're ridiculously expensive. Buying a prebuilt system at least lets you get a card and for less of a markup.

Dell these days is quite unlike the Dell in the yesteryears. They have come up with a system called Support Assist that is a disguised planned obsolescence system. Think of it as a Trojan horse. It is introduced to keep your systems updated and working till the warranty period, and swiftly after the warranty expiry keeps introducing updates that lead to one or the other software malfunction. The warranty then offered for a year or two is close to the price of a new laptop; just slightly lesser perhaps. So, my two cents is to ignore the fancy lighting and other fancy stuff and go for a brand that provides you the not so fancy but a reliable and lasting product. All the best folks!!

It looks alright considering the discounts you can get thru Dell but I cannot seem to justify the high cost with the insanely cramped case leaving minimal room for airflow. Seems like a heat-accident waiting to happen, am I wrong? Just seems like you can get similar parts with a better case to avoid the high temps & overworked fans at a comparable cost. I plan to play the new Battlefield specifically and cannot say I'm totally sold on this based on the cramped case design.

@@redin575 that's absolutely not true, a quick UA-cam search will show you several videos with real world tests and shows you that dual channel has a significant impact on gaming performance, including lower frametimes and higher fps. Here is something NO ONE Is talking about or knows about or maybe cares about. If you want to save a few bucks and don't buy or build a Alienware with a liquid cooled cpu option and think you will upgrade it later, hold on.
Look at Dell's website, there is no liquid cooled accessory package listed. You have to call Dell directly and asking for the liquid cooled CPU kit. Dell customer service will transfer you to their USED/REFURBISHED PARTS DEPARTMENT where they can sell you one.
So if you want to upgrade to a liquid cooled cpu you can do it at the time of purchase and get new parts, or upgrade later with used/refurbished parts. That is nuts for a premium product line.

PLEASE invest in a better mic.
OK, I've replied twice, and not seen them show up in multiple browsers when logged in and not. So in case they really aren't getting through:
It may sound fine on a phone/tablet, but your Ps and Bs are very hard, and if you watch on something with a decent audio system, they punch the hell out of the sub and end up being pretty distracting to the narrative.
Fixes - a better mic, aiming your mic "past" your mouth, a mic sock, a screen between you and the mic, or a mix of all of them.
