  • For a period in the late 70s and very early 80s ONJ transformed from a country tinged lightweight pop singer to a real contender for the pop princess title - all silk blouses, leather pants and killer boots!
The John Farrar produced Physical was a turning point for the girl downunder with the short cut and feather bangs. It was huge at the time with an amazing Gatefold sleeve, but the album, which was groundbreaking in sound and performance, has since been overwhelmed by its lead single in all its nostalgic and tacky glory.
Its high time that music fans reaquaint themselves with what I consider a seminal pop album. Post that album, ONJ released a greatest hits compilation with 2 new songs, a common marketing ploy to eek out product sales from an artist at her peak, and it was definitely a peak, as her career nose-dived soon after into boring MOR territory - I mean does anyone remember Soul Kiss? And lets not mention all that Gaia bullshit that came after.
Anyhoo, here is Tied Up from said Greatest Hits Compilation.
Please enjoy, and then get the Physical album toot suite!
Disclaimer - I don't earn anything from uploading this video or any of the videos I post on this channel. I just want to share my enthusiasm for music and vinyl with friends and strangers alike - and hopefully boost sales for the artists that I love.
