- From the orientation to picking up the first load. We loved the orientation with Heather instructing us on whats best to do after the orientation on the road. We camp for the first time at our land in Daytona Beach, Florida and ended up this video at Loves Truck Stop in Savannah GA.

Nice one go park. I’ve been there done that where I’ve had such a beautiful one shot parking just sexy then there are days where I’m like wtf!?!? I don’t care how much skill u got there are good and bad parking days lol
Totally agree. Sometimes it looks like I’ve been driving for 40years and sometimes it looks i just got out of the CDL school lol.
Hope you don’t go broke. 🙏. I’ve been trucking 38 years and at Landstar 5 years. It’s absolutely CRAP here now. I’d love to know the BS they are spewing in orientation nowadays. Good luck. You’ll be lucky to clear $6,000-$7,000 a month. And I’m NO rookie at this. I made $230,000 my 1st year. $168,00 gross last years, net was $103,000 after Landstar’s deductions, after MY expenses (0 breakdowns) maintenance and fuel I cleared $18,000. Yeah boy Landstar is great. BTW I waited 8 days for a trailer when I started and got one because my brother (was leased there too) bought his own and I got his. You’ll need a lot of luck. Hope you have a lot of experience at finding loads and knowing good lanes because I do, and I’m struggling like a bitc# here and have my eyes open for somewhere else to go.
Its not just Landstar that is struggling brother. Everywhere is bad now on this market. But for me its still working for been as a team driving with my wife. So we have a lil better opportunity than solos and even the solo loads we take we try to deliver them early. And the way you’re talking about your expenses looks like its time for a newer truck cause our truck is a 2022 and in 5 months owning the truck all we did is oil change and a steering tire. Our truck expenses are minimal and when we are in light load the truck is making 9’s mpg 🙏🏼🙌🏼✅. Everywhere now is struggling if you change you will be going to a deeper hole. 🕳️.
Damn.. Mercer orientation 3-5 days no hotel offered.. made us sleep in our trucks

@@Papi3182 dry van with Landstar trailer. If you do refeer, you would need to have your own trailer and its not many loads available 🫡😎
