      Did you ever get the answer to your question boss? I’m looking to Invest in 1 truck and 1 step deck and putting a driver in the truck and put it all under Landstar. It’s this a profitable business move ? Thx

    Thank you guys for sharing this valuable insight. At this very moment I am looking to purchase a truck and pay for it cash. Ive never been more nervous in my life. I had the same thoughts on costs low. You guys reassured me and it's exactly what I needed to hear before I go lay down this money and step in the hammer lane. Thanks again guys, you got a new subscriber.

    Excellent info.....this clarifies alot of my pre-conceived thoughts of why wouldn't any truck owner get their own authority.
    TRANSPARENCY regarding shipper/broker/carrier relationship.
    The benefit of Landstar's buying power could really make a difference for a single truck operator.
    This excites me....been wanting to lose the diapers for a long time....lol.

    Question, Does Landstar or the agent require the BCOs to book a minimum of monthly revenue ? And are the BCOs required to be active a certain amount of time per month or year?

    • @BlueRibbonLogistics
      @BlueRibbonLogistics  3 роки тому +6

      No. There are no minimum revenue requirements. However, if you take time off, you can lose your trailer after ten days and they still build up your weekly deductions in a “red file” that will have to be caught up when you start back. I know of BCO’s that run 60,000 miles a year. Work six months, home six months. You decide. It’s your business.

      I've been working with Landstar for almost 8yrs and I've got my own trailer sometimes I've had to take 3 months off at a time but I've got the $$$$ saved for the fixed cost that I need to stay with Landstar

    I wonder on hazmat loads can you negotiate the rate more then what there trying to pay the load for 🤔

    • @makincash3337
      @makincash3337 3 роки тому

      Only if you can get the agents to contact their contact and renegotiate. But hazmat pays higher most time so that won't really be a issuse

  • @carlroop2674

    Borkers are taking much more than 13% Most freight is moved on a long term contract .When the rate goes down the broker is keeping more money. How much are you being payed by Landstar

      thanks for responding. only 3 months in currently running dry van in oh, pa and wv i'll be watching the series thanks for the great resource and content. i was mansplaining some of these same ideas especially cash purchase to my girlfriend (also a driver), but damn if your lunatic branding isn't spot on. i've worked jobs where people look at you like you're crazy for not being broke but thats the culture now. i appreciate the emphasis on saving. people don't seem to comprehend that if you have no savings and are already working 60+ hrs a wk like the rest of us then 9/10 you have a SPENDING problem. more income will only make it worse and then sprinkle in some cash flow fluctuations and you're storing your flammables in the fireplace lol. pardon the analogies but everyone is an amateur business person and i can't help but feel like going lease or owner op with minimal or no savings much less owning outright is like losing all your amateur fights and deciding you don't need to be fighting like this so its time for a pro debut. big fan of the podcast i may contact you down the road about a position with the mentor fleet.

    The system is not rocket science. You need be a part of the club with the (so called) brokers that have the freight. If you not there you wont survive in that system.
