The last two patches have fixed some bugs for the lich path, so I've been thinking about starting a new playthrough, and I'm definitely going to be using your build. Thanks for the spreadsheets. They're lifesavers. Looking forward to seeing any new builds you come out with. Cheers!
One little sidenote: the background you have chosen gives bonus vs Devils, not Demons, little but important difference. There are tons of Demons but not so many Devils in the enemy encounters. So i would recommend to go for either Gebian Necromancer for more HP on your summoned undead creatures and companions, or if you want a bonus against Demons take Mendevian Orphan for +1 bonus on saving throws against Demons. Just my 2Cent. ;-)
The 3hp are literally going to make no difference. Thought chilaxoan was versus demons. Oh well. You can choose either of those or just pick one for flavor. No biggie.
Leroy i really appreciate the time and effort you put into these videos. I just joined your channel and I love it. So much great content. Informative, funny well laid out. Thank you very much.

@@LeeroyGaming Leeroy, I am sure I am not the only one but love to either see a complete playthrough of this build or more of it in varying combat situations. GG.
I think one of the most terrifying an or morally disturbing Necromancer concept I have ever made was a god of the Dead Helena Grayle Mother of the Dead Seed ( yes I ripped this off from steven erikson house of chains book) She would sacrifice men at the height of their climax allowing part of their death to transfer into her child (Children of the Dead Seed) the men would be turned into their fathers / guardians they are very similar to mummies but they are more along the lines of the Mummies from the 90's movie The Mummy. The Concept for the game was that the characters we made in the first game would be the gods in the next game an game lasted for 3 years out side of game an we played once a week an each session was 8 to 12 hours
@@LeeroyGaming the second act or chapter of the game is we where to play the gods heralds an or champions so I brought in a Angel Andros Nephilim the Angel of Death his task was the defence of sacred burial sites an tomb cities (necropolis's) tomb raiders really were not safe think a much more militant Pharasma. Every soldier that dies on the battle field at one point or another will cry for their mother an in this game the Mother of the Dead seed may respond if your faith was strong enough.

Naturally they are feral more or less but he was taken a raised by humans
I like the build, but I want to make a couple of additions/corrections: Feast of blood gives you temporary hit points equal to the highest amount of damage the spell did, i.e. if you cast it on 3 enemies, one takes 70 damage, one takes 80 and one takes 90, you'll get 90 temporary hit points You didn't mention Blessing of unlife, which makes your living companions behave like they were undead. I think this is a crucial spell for the lich because the undead companions aside from the queen and Kestoglyr are terrible, you'll want to have living companions or mercs with you Restore undead stuns everyone it affects for one round so you want to think twice before using it in the middle of combat Negative eruption isn't capped at 150, it's 10 damage/heal per caster level, so if you're level 30 ot does 300 damage (or save for 150). It also does NOT damage living companions or summons, but it does heal undead friendly characters (it however will damage "allies", e.g. when you fight in Midnight Fane or outside Threshold) Weapon of death I haven't confirmed this, but the description says it makes enemy characters take a penalty for overcoming spell resistance, meaning it only has any effect if you have spell resistance and not when the enemy does. This might just not work like the descriotion says so maybe you're correct and it does help you penetrate enemy spell resistance, but if it does what it says then it's fairly useless imo
I've been working on a cold themed Winter Witch lich build: Class Levels: 20 Leyline Witch 8 (Winter Witch setup and Conduit Surge) Vivisectionist 2 (Cognatogen) Scaled Fist 1 (Charisma to AC) Enlighted Philosopher 3 (Charisma instead of Dex for AC; last two levels come after you've unlocked level 9 spells and will give you access to slow effects on all your cold spells) Winter Witch 6 (2 ranks of cold specialization and both ranks of Freezing Cold) Key Mythic Abilities & Feats: Expanded Arsenal (Necromancy) (So you can buff evocation and necromancy at the same time) Extra Mystery (For Waves and AOE slow late game) Ascended Element (Negative & Cold, though I'm still on the fence over cold [might be better to use Eclipse Chill and other abilities to trigger vulnerability on enemies instead; then you can buff your allies to resist AOE cold damage while their undeadness makes them immune to your high end AOE unholy spells) Archmage Armor (Weeeeeee AC) Elemental Barrage (You do both negative and cold, so plenty of fun extra damage) Key Lich Abilities: Eclipse Chill (not necessarily the strongest, but fun and thematic. With the witch's Cackle and the Skeletal Finger metamagic rod, you can hit enemies in a broad AOE with this ability three times in a single turn). Withering Life (basically AOE stat debuffs; not as strong as a magic missile focused build, but still pretty great) Key Skeleton Upgrade: Cleric (extra healing and access to the Freedom of Movement spell, which negates the only downside of the Conduit Surge ability) General Playstyle: Tag enemies with cold and then obliterate them with unholy or vice versa. You do have to build high Int and middling Cha while dumping physical stats, but I didn't find much issue playing on Core. Late game you are a power house physically, anyway, due to Lord Beyond the Grave + the lvl 8 Frightful Aspect spell, but it's not that difficult to play throughout the game as long as you're careful with stacking your temporary HP stacking. False Life + False Life (greater) + Vampiric Touch & Etc. spells give you more HP than you would have even if you built for CON in the early game. If you grab Scaled + Enlightened early, your spell growth is slow but you have plenty of AC. Once you grab combined spellbook on Lich selection, you'll be on par/ahead of non lich/angel characters anyway.
My lich is lvl 18 sorc/EK. very fun to play, also using Frostbite. But I use melee more and no school or spell feets. Just trasnformation and def buffs. Using a few skellie animations before trans and storm with my horde and death undead buff for free haste.Oh I mostly solo for max fun!
I appreciate the work put into these. And while I understand the reasoning for Sorceror, I see very few actually ever use a wizard build for anything. Can you please present a few builds focused on a wizard (no armor, etc.). It doesn't have to be min-max, just interesting.
When building up the lich mythic levels, beca dhampir to get affected by the healing from negative energy, so Even tho you aren't undead, you are pretty much undead
He went for human to get the extra feat at level one, plus 1 extra skill point per level. Also he went with selective channel which means that negative channel heals and positive channel deals damage.
Great video, just two things to add, chelaxian diabolist doesnt work against demons, it works against devils. In pathfinder and DyD devils and demons are two different things, in this game you only get to see devils if you are aeon or azata i think so probably not really useful, also augmenting summoning only works in things that say summon, since raise dead and create undead dont say it, it doesnt work for them
Dhampir "Blood-wizard" (Don't remember the exact name of the subclass) gets a feature that works like that but with animate dead. Edit: it gives +4 enhancment bonus to str and con (just checked it up couse wasn't sure)
The Lich has so many great powers that i wonder if like a good druid could get the same powers out of the progression. Aeon is cool or Azata but they all seem to be so much weaker. I would be very interested in a strong Druid build. But the Arthas build you made is very good.
Of note: Augment/ Superior Summons do not affect Undead. Iron Will/ History of Terror: Once you get Blessing of Unlife, Will Saves end to be an issue, for the party. Apart from, notably, Baphomet (dispel) and Vavakia Vanguard (presumably bugged). - Horrid Wilting is just far worse than the Lich spells. Greater Spell Penetration is best picked between level 1 and 3 in this game. Or, if you mostly lean into melee and the Lich spells anyways: Not at all. :P - I would absolutely skip Ascendant Summoning, and any Conjuration Focus. And rush Greater Abundant Casting.
Interestingly enough I end up having numerous summons from items so the aug/superior summoning wasn’t a waste but I could see removing it. If this was a pure caster builds and not an arthas build I agree that rushing greater spell penetration would be key. In general it would be easier to build as you need way less fears overall
I Google augment summon and it said it doesn't work for animate dead and create undead, so was what I read wrong? I admit it was a reddit discussion so Idk for sure
Liked this a lot Leeroy. Thanks. Question: How do you have your undead party members built and how do they cover the gaps to allow you more flexibility in choosing your feats and spells? I don’t know much about the undead NPCs. Thanks
You really don't need the will save feats. I'd rather pick something more useful and just select Mind Blank Communal spell. Edit: Also, to everyone interested. Before you talk to the Storyteller after you conquer Drezen back after coming from the abyss, make sure to strip Seelah of items because she will leave after you pick the Lich path after you talk to Iomedae and Areelu. You wont get the items she is carrying at that moment so make sure to strip her of items.
Hi, love the build, is it possible to go Angelkin with it? And if yes, what changes I should make to make it still viable or is the starting additional feat required?
Why are folks all so hell-bent on putting heavy armor on...Archmage armor is right there. 1h/lvl....One lvl dip in scaled fist for crane style...No speed restriction, no spell failure and easily available. Much better than having to wait till act 4-5 to finally being a "death knight" before finally finding a decent mithral full plate....
It's just an flavor choice. I agree that armor is alot weaker than going the mage armor route, but man a character looks such much cooler in heavy armor than just in simple clothes.
@@minze202 As a lich you decide to give up on flesh. What's the point protecting your body if you don't care about it? It's pretty clear that a Lich only sees a body just as a vessel for their soul. When you have complete mastery over the bones and flesh, there is no point putting on armor.
Caster level 30? I thought Caster Level would be maxed out at 20. Is this something lich specific or do all mythic path give you caster level beyond 20 if you combine spellbooks?
if you combine spellbooks Lich's mythic patch rank will stack with class caster level. That's also means you can get higher spells soon: for instance a 14th level wizard with MR 3 as lich, count as a 17th level caster, thus able to cast 9th level spells. Merging spellbooks is EXTREMELY powerful
People really really like Arthas... enough to die for him and become undead minions.... thats the ticket! Even without any specialty perks to buff his persuasion skill, it is absolutely bonkers.
So the Bone Shatter Necromancy Spell I think if it crits on a target they should make a animation of a skeleton tearing itself from its host Wishmaster style ( if you haven't seen it here's the scene I time stamped it ua-cam.com/video/k_cb451sRlU/v-deo.htmlsi=6pNKzGQZkrV7WbID&t=119 )
Hey there rag. I did a community vote and swarm that walked got most voters followed by azata. I will be doing trickster as well , but not yet as it didn’t get many votes :( I personally want to do trickster if it’s any consolation.
Just a friendly side note, please add in the spreadsheet what role is your build made for, and what do you think the basic level should be for this build to work as intended, difficulty for playing it, does it have to be player character or can it be mercenary. Thank you for everything.
I’ll see if I can check it out. Considering you have no CON it will either have to change or it will break the base class. Do note there are archetypes that change primary stat from con to other stats. Additional side note: I originally played as a kineticist in one of my playthroughs and I found it’s extremely weak. You can get one powerful standard attack per round but if you miss, it sucks bad.
You can merge sorcerer levels with lich levels. So lvl 20 sorcerer equivalent + 10 Lich = lvl 30 spell caster… yes that makes you spell casting way more powerful and more difficult to resist! It’s bonkers good
Sure they can. Check the spell list for sorcerers with the undead.m bloodline. I believe they receive it as a bonus spell at level 9 if I remember correctly.
It should be a one of the normal options. It’s nothing special/unique. Scroll all the way down, make sure you haven’t made any selections that make it invalid (would be in gray).
@@LeeroyGaming I realized why I couldn’t see it. I thought it was supposed to fall under the type of Sorcerer. I went with overwhelming mage. I hope that was the right choice.
@@LeeroyGaming that’s good to know. I was able to get the Abyssal bloodline. It’s just the type of sorc is ‘overwhelming mage’. Is that not the right choice?
That is part of the final transformation at mythic level 9. And it’s not just skeleton face. You become a skeleton! No more con score. All based on CHA!
@@LeeroyGaming int based classes imo. Sage sorcerer is probably one of the most strongest classes in the game. No other sorcerer comes closes as a single class. Int at 20 gives you +5 skills I digress, doesn't Arthas use frostmourne and is more of anti-paladin/blackgaurd. Your build is a spellcaster with some armor. What I proposed would give both fighting(BaB)and competent spellcasting, with armor. If you don't want armor, then it's charisma based, scaled fist 1 > sorcerer> DD 4 > 10 ek
@@t2av159 he has a spell that lets him go full bab. The video explains everything if you watch it. Again, it’s my take on it, not the only take. But yes, his magic is much greater than his melee. This is a thematic build as I started at the beginning of the video. It won’t please everyone.
39:00 Death of elements + Ascendant element(negative energy) does not work like you think it does in game. I thought it would work like you say as well, just to find out 60hours in to the game that this combination makes you and your undead buddies take damage from negative energy spells you cast. Sucks and is very counter intuitive but thats how it is.
This has got to be a bug right? I guess if it stays like this then respec and get rid of ascendant element negative energy. Luckily most things are not immune to negative energy end game.
@@LeeroyGaming if its a "bug" i guess it wont be fixed quickly, i think mechanically the undead relationship to negative energy is treated as immunity/resistance. In fluff negative energy is the lifeblood of undead tho, its not that they are immune to it, they love it :D
@@2Banarne2 so you would think that the negating immunity wouldn’t bother them as they heal from it instead of blocking the “damage”. That’s why the negative interaction doesn’t make sense to me.

Expanded Arsenal (Necromancy) (So you can buff evocation and necromancy at the same time)
Extra Mystery (For Waves and AOE slow late game)
Ascended Element (Negative & Cold, though I'm still on the fence over cold [might be better to use Eclipse Chill and other abilities to trigger vulnerability on enemies instead; then you can buff your allies to resist AOE cold damage while their undeadness makes them immune to your high end AOE unholy spells)

Hi, love the build, is it possible to go Angelkin with it? And if yes, what changes I should make to make it still viable or is the starting additional feat required?
Hehe, Arthas. Let's hope there's no cursed sword lying around.
Good job look great do you have a link where we can get the spread sheet?
The link to the spreadsheet is in the description :)
Looks like a fun build to try
If I ever get the chance to play this game, my first playthrough will be arthas pre frostmourne (paladin/g
Fighter, legend path)
Second playthrough I'll try this build
Might go bloodrager primalist instead of sorc, but idk
That would be fun. You get 40 levels w legend so you can max out 2 classes!
I also prefer martials. They're more up my alley.
@@The-Great-Penguin sounds good. Fair warning, at higher difficulties this game is ruthless against martial classes.
excellent video, but it would be better if you showed us the same one from the creation of the character. Thanks.
I’m not sure what you mean by that?
Why are folks all so hell-bent on putting heavy armor on...Archmage armor is right there. 1h/lvl....One lvl dip in scaled fist for crane style...No speed restriction, no spell failure and easily available. Much better than having to wait till act 4-5 to finally being a "death knight" before finally finding a decent mithral full plate....
Yeah, I hope they rebalance that. Right now there's absolutely no point in wearing armor.
It's just an flavor choice. I agree that armor is alot weaker than going the mage armor route, but man a character looks such much cooler in heavy armor than just in simple clothes.
because Arthas and every other death knight wears heavy armor! duh haha
@@minze202 As a lich you decide to give up on flesh. What's the point protecting your body if you don't care about it? It's pretty clear that a Lich only sees a body just as a vessel for their soul. When you have complete mastery over the bones and flesh, there is no point putting on armor.
@@jodyboles8208 Arthas is not a mage though.
how's the game performance with all these summons? does it bug out?
like, comment, words of encouragement.
Haha, thank you :)
So Frostbite got nerfed to shit?
Description just says icyburst, frost and Enhancement+5
Caster level 30? I thought Caster Level would be maxed out at 20. Is this something lich specific or do all mythic path give you caster level beyond 20 if you combine spellbooks?
if you combine spellbooks Lich's mythic patch rank will stack with class caster level.
That's also means you can get higher spells soon: for instance a 14th level wizard with MR 3 as lich, count as a 17th level caster, thus able to cast 9th level spells.
Merging spellbooks is EXTREMELY powerful
43 Charisma O.o
People really really like Arthas... enough to die for him and become undead minions.... thats the ticket!
Even without any specialty perks to buff his persuasion skill, it is absolutely bonkers.
Just one question, you take mythic spellbook ? or mythic spellbook (sorcerer) ? at mythic level 3. think you for you build
no one for aswer me ? 😢 if i spellbook (sorcerer) is more stronger ?
Great video.
Nice
Thank you!
Love your coverage of the lich, trickster next? :)
Hey there rag. I did a community vote and swarm that walked got most voters followed by azata. I will be doing trickster as well , but not yet as it didn’t get many votes :( I personally want to do trickster if it’s any consolation.
@@LeeroyGaming Yeah I can understand that, swarm looks amazing as well. (Trickster just looked like it had way more customizability)
Just a friendly side note, please add in the spreadsheet what role is your build made for, and what do you think the basic level should be for this build to work as intended, difficulty for playing it, does it have to be player character or can it be mercenary. Thank you for everything.
Those are good ideas! I’ll make a note to make such updates.
Hi leeroy, can you explore lich kimeticist build, burn mechanic and constitution bonus on lich
Maybe I skipped the part where you say it but what’s the difficulty I can play this build on?
i would like to see trickster path played out from act 1 to act 5
The engine gets so choppy with so many on screen. And you can't zoom out enough to see the biggest demons. Spoils the fun battles a bit.
Thank you for the build!! But one question: how is it possible to be "Sorcerer lvl 30" with Caster level 30 in the Spellbook? Thanks in advance :)
You can merge sorcerer levels with lich levels. So lvl 20 sorcerer equivalent + 10 Lich = lvl 30 spell caster… yes that makes you spell casting way more powerful and more difficult to resist! It’s bonkers good
Good build
Hey nice vid. Is this build still viable? I love summoning xD
It is. You can check comments form some tweaks that have been discussed
Okay thanks, nice vid. Love your wotr builds
@@juliooliveira8159 ty
Dude, how do you have Animate Dead on there? Sorcs can't use that and Im now a bit sad! :(
Sure they can. Check the spell list for sorcerers with the undead.m bloodline. I believe they receive it as a bonus spell at level 9 if I remember correctly.
@@LeeroyGaming Sorry, I also saw I get it next level! xD
@@UCFElCarnicero haha:)
thanks
appreciate it
I am starting a new game but I do not see the Abyssal Bloodline under sorc. Do I need some sort of bonus content for it?
It should be a one of the normal options. It’s nothing special/unique. Scroll all the way down, make sure you haven’t made any selections that make it invalid (would be in gray).
@@LeeroyGaming I realized why I couldn’t see it. I thought it was supposed to fall under the type of Sorcerer. I went with overwhelming mage. I hope that was the right choice.
@@moxen001 you can always respec for free
@@LeeroyGaming that’s good to know.
I was able to get the Abyssal bloodline. It’s just the type of sorc is ‘overwhelming mage’. Is that not the right choice?
Can u tell me where did u get it portraits
Thx fot the great build. By the way, how can i get a skeleton face?
That is part of the final transformation at mythic level 9. And it’s not just skeleton face. You become a skeleton! No more con score. All based on CHA!
@@LeeroyGaming oh~ bcuz of you....i can't get out of act 2!!! cuz i change my spec again and again lol
@@pridewic0518 lol oh my…
Wouldn't a wizard~3 hellknight sig~10 EK be more fitting for a lich king, this gives you the Armour for visual, some bab, and plenty of spells.
CHA based > INT based classes. Can get insane amount of CHA for casting stat and great hp for tankiness.
@@LeeroyGaming int based classes imo. Sage sorcerer is probably one of the most strongest classes in the game. No other sorcerer comes closes as a single class. Int at 20 gives you +5 skills
I digress, doesn't Arthas use frostmourne and is more of anti-paladin/blackgaurd.
There is no anti paladin class in pathfinder unfortunately so I couldn’t do everything I wanted. But he has level 30 spellcaster and he can go melee if he wants to.
@@LeeroyGaming yep does not make sense :D
but as you said earlier, easiest fix is to skip out on ascendant element if you want to blast fools with negative energy fireballs and not worry about hitting undead team mates.
Btw been watching quite a bit of your pathfinder content, good stuff!
@@2Banarne2 glad you enjoyed it. Im not perfect but im trying my best:) Just launched another massive guide to Swarm That Walks. Doing a vote on what people want to see next. Looking into more build guides too. Not enough hours in day + been really sick lately = bad combo for content creation.
Great video but it should be noted that the buff summons spells don't work on create u
Or animate dead
Oh that’s a bummer. Unfortunately it’s hard to see what buffs effects what units in this game.
@@LeeroyGaming very true
@@JamesTillmanjimthegray I would post that. You could instead take the intimidation line of feats. I am running a melle lich king as well, but dipped for ironblood because it is zeroing your ASF for any arcane class at the moment
@@JamesTillmanjimthegray how did you find out?
@@zebode nice idea my current playthrough is signifier 10 wizard 7 and lich currently , tempted for monk or alchist lich at some point
why not do cross blooded sorcerer for the few extra stats?
loosimg many high spells, very not worth it
Sorcerer gets high will, so i don't get why you got iron will, but overall, pretty good build
I had situations where end game I was failing will saves still. But feel free to exchange it for a more offensive feat if you’d like.
@@LeeroyGaming sorcerer - crossblooded, second bloodline, undead, unlock 20th level through mythic for dr/-5
edit: the drawback of less 1 spell per level kind of makes it so you will only have lich lvl 9 spells but a total of dr/-15 is quite powerful
I want to make a melee lich but I wonder, can I go Undead Bloodline instead of abysal?
You can but it’s redundant if you are gonna go lich. Abysal gives you nice str buffs. You will already turn full undead going lich. I could see going undead early if you wanted early benefits and then respecing?
@@LeeroyGaming That make sense, I think i'll stick with abysal then, thanks for the answer!
I'd probably have gone with the Bloodrager with the Steel look subtype route and possibly take the undead bloodline.
Ps you will get 14 ac from mage armor alone so steel line isn’t really necessary. ESP as you get to keep all your dex bonus to ac w mage armor unlike w plate armor.
@@LeeroyGaming Hmm. Good point.
@@LeeroyGaming Maybe a Magus and later go into Eldritch Knight? Make a Str/Int build or maybe a Str/Cha build.
@@CosmicG777 str/cha is good. Str/int is bad. CHA will become main stat once you’re Lich.
@@LeeroyGaming Oh. Thanks for that info. In that case, I'd go with Eldritch Scion Magus for the Str/Cha stats and the Undead Bloodline. And then go into Eldritch Knight as soon as I get the Heavy Armor prof at level 13.
I need Frostmourne
Check out the guide, there is a wannabe frostmourne in the game!
Why care about bonus to summoning? Undead don't count as summons as far as I understand.
If you check out gear section you still get around 5-6 summon on top of the undead. Including your undead dragon.
@@LeeroyGaming but do they count as normal summons?
@@MrStoltverd this game appears to be all about wording. It seems like if it says “summon”, things count. If there is no summon word (like animate dead) then it doesn’t. This is of course not factoring in any broken mechanics in the game (there are quite a few)
Fuck i was going to do that next xD
I decided to go with this build in my first run in the game , is it supposed to be this weak in the early game or Im doing something wrong?
Early on you will be a squishy caster. Make sure you cast enlarge person on yourself so you can hit from back line. He scales up in power crazy end game but do NOT try and face tank while leveling up.

Youre burning 3 feats on summoning but none of your spells use conjuration.
I do use numerous items that conjure summons. However, initially i thought the summon buffs worked with the undead summons (which they don’t). In retrospect it would be smart to reassign those summon based feats to different feats. My bad. Only human here.
