Did mine yesterday. One of my memory modules was missing a thermal pad COMPLETELY. It was very clear by the difference of wear on the module that it was never there. Don't think that the factory is perfect. Sometimes you gotta do it yourself.

The thickness is 1mm,some coolers the 1mm will be too thick so you squeeze it to make it like 0.75,i got new pads and tem went down from 94 to 72 amazing drop tbh

@@g0at3 thats good to hear but you must have a hotspot temp all the 5000 series gpus had. It can be called junction temp sometimes. If you use Hwinfo or go to your adrenalin driver sensors you can see it. These gpus dont make decisions with normal gpu temp. Cause its a average temp. Hotspot is the hottest spot on the die itself and has a maximum of 110C limit. If one of the sensors on the die hits 110 gpu will start throttle immediately.

add 0,5mm plastic washers under the screws and slowly tighten each of them half turn, repeat this passage until they're firm. This is the only way to have a perfect mounting pressure on msi 5700xt mech, now junction temps are always under 90° and core max 76° with 100mv undervolt. No more clock bouncing and stutters.
