This is the most emotional roller-coaster story I have ever heard! While I am gratified that Tim was inspired by his tragedy, I empathise with his whole life story. Tim Pearce is truly an emotionally strong individual. I sincerely hope that he and his family face better days ahead.

HANDS DOWN, the absolute best episode EVER. We are forever blessed that Tim and Kristina served us thru their time at LAPD. We owe them more than can ever be repaid. Tim & Kristina, there are no words to adequately convey our sympathies for the price you've paid in service to your community. Kristina continues to inspire us, to remind us we can always BE better and DO better. The choice is ours to respond to lifes challenges. To turn tragedy into triumph. Thank you!!! Tim, AU Fire is an amazing outcome born of a very dark time for your family. May it save lives and in some small way, compensate your family for your LIFE-CHANGING service!

Mike conducts a lot of interviews on individuals that I have never seen before or heard of. That is actually a good thing because I will have no prejudice against that person before watching. Mr. Pearce is an interesting man, and he is definitely doing a great thing for police and the military. God bless Mike, Chuck and Tim.

Lotta people would benefit from the realization that cops are people, too, and they're just as vulnerable as the rest of us. They just have more training and equipment to help them cope with it. But when you hear stories like this of cops lives changing or ending on the turn of a single decision, it brings much needed nuance to the issues surrounding police behavior.

What a moving story. Both of them are so strong to be able keep moving forward after such adversity.
His words about just sitting down and just talking like friends after his divorce is valid. That's what has helped my marriage to last 35 yesrs. When my wife and I have a big argument and it just gets circular, we just seperate sort of. Then we wait however long it takes for us both to calm down and just start talking normal, and then we resolve our differences civilly.

Wow. What a great story. My dad was good friends with the LAPD one of the top firearms instructors... I'm sure Ted would be really excited to see this implemented in the department if he was still working. I hope and pray Tim does exceedingly well with this product and many lives are saved.

This is an amazing story, absolutely. Unfortunately their drivenness to make her life ‘normal’ 6 months later did totally distract her and him from grieving and healing….thus breaking their family apart. There is NO substitute or easy way out for going through the grieving/healing process. I’m sad she resorted to the alcohol/pain meds. The grief is gonna find its way out somehow 😔 if we learn anything I hope that it is that we have to grieve and heal over a loss before we can completely move on 💖

Tim made a comment about the job being "fun". As a police officer for 30 years, I imagine that a lot of folks would have a problem with that statement. As a Field Training Officer, I used to advise rookies on the first day, that the job was "fun". Sure, there were good days and bad days, but when you weighted everything, it was fun and each day was different. And I'd stress that when the job was no longer "fun", it was time to get out. I also disabused them of the notion that what we did was "routine". Routine will get you killed. Best wishes to Time and Kristina, may God hold them in his hand.

What an amazing story and family. Thank you, Mike and Chuck for bringing this great technology to the attention. I hope police forces all over the world start training our police in a more realistic manner and hopefully it will prevent another officer from such devastating loss. This one had me crying for Christina and laughing for Chuck. Sorry Chuck.

I used my boogie board as a rescue device to pull 2 girls away from a rocky jetty who were yelling for help. Same thing the lifeguard wasn't even looking at them. I pulled them to shore, they thanked me. I was about to go back out and the lifeguard runs up to me and grabs my arm and proceeds to cuss me out for doing his job.

100% respect to the Pearces, and to everyone in the community who came to their assistance.
But this needs to be said: as a general principle, women shouldn’t be in military combat roles, or in firefighting, or in street policing. When we put them there, we’re buying the feminist lie that there is no difference whatsoever between men and women.
