I love the fact that the metro stations out there do have glass barriers to prevent people from falling into the tracks . That's very effective . Here in the US, the subways in DC and NY are just open and people fall over the tracks every year and either die by electric shocks or are crushed by on coming trains .

+Grandoasis The subways in DC and NY are also older infrastructure.
+Pete S. The NY subway started in 1905. The London tube started in 1850s and is undergoing upgrades with screen doors (already installed on some lines) and that's in very cramped tunnels.
+bbqroast London Underground doesn't have Platform Edge Doors, only on the Jubilee Line Extension which is modern. I know they have considered inserting them at more station in the future due to self driving trains in the future however they have to find a solution to deal with the big gaps between the train and platform seen at some old platforms. Plus overground some tube line share the track with different sized stock so it isn't really a practical solution as of now.
Same like Delhi Metro and on Airport line we have also glass barriers
i lived there for 2.5 years its fantastic country . So much classy land mark like burj khalifa , dubai marina , palm jumierah , burj ul arab i want to go back there

Only to Malyalees. I'm not being racist, but the way you guys talk loudly and continuously irritates us 'North Indians'.
We can't generalize anything now, can we? There are Indians from so many areas of income and background in Dubai. There are people like us who due to our education and our upbringing don't do many things the way Indians are stereotyped to do. Why divide India into North and South. When Modi announced demonetisation, its implications were equal on all of us right? Why divide and differentiate?
It reminds me that I traveled through metro in Dubai 1yr back wonderful experience smooth ride.

So this was 10 years ago. Wow until now the metro looks new and clean. It's always nice to ride in metro. I'm excited this December I will be visiting Dubai again and I will make sure that I will explore more of Dubai compared to what I did last year. And I will go to the different stations of Dubai like Dubai Creek, etc. Everytime I go to Dubai always go to Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa side. But I never been to the other side like Marina Mall, Palm Dubai, Jumairah beach side. So this year it's time for me to explore those sides plus the Dubai Souq as well. I'm getting excited right now.

This is a fabulous video which took me back to my memories of those days in Dubai metro. Had loved those moments. This video starts with Deira City centre metro station, one of the busiest metro stations in Red line. Clearly pictured the beauty of the tunnel as well. Sheikh Zayed road is also well captured.👌😍😍😍

its a very nice metro, only thing is that the trains are pretty small :\ looks like people are being squished on the train. I hope it doesn't become as crowded as the asian subway systems
in fact, they are actually MEDIUM CAPACITY system.

Excuse me i have worked in this metro project i have hardly seen any European company working this project most of the companies who worked in dubai metro project were from South Asian mostly from South Korea's Samsung and japan's Mitsubishi who handled the all project even the most engineers were also from South Asian countries.
