    Beautiful and sad city at the same time. Concrete desert, not to many green surfaces. Good they have some beaches.

      @@sellier-bellot22 There are many poor people there, especially the indian and chinese workers who build and maintain these infrastructures. Ever wonder about how the streets are so clean? It must be done regularly with lots and lots of work.

    It's so beautiful but I could not be happy visiting this city due to the guilt I'd feel due to the fact that this city is built by slaves who live in slums right outside of it.

      It’s made for the wealthy nationals who generally don’t like to mix with the majority foreign residents. The Women section is also for them as they are quite conservative.

    It's not so surprising to me, when one thinks that they can, along with Abu Dhabi, virtually hold the world to ransom, regarding the price the international market has to pay for their crude.

      Yeah it's amazing how clean it is. The country of the United Arab Emirates as a whole is quite clean. You'll see a coffee or water bottle left on a bench once in awhile but for the most part it's kept super clean by city workers. I don't know of any instances of spray painting or vandalising there off the top of my head. It's crazy because there's not even much crime there. People will sit their bags with valuables down on benches along the marina and go jog and no one touches it. Someone I know left their brand new iphone in a taxi in Dubai and they got it back. That's totally unheard of in other major cities around the globe. Speaking of the taxis they're super nice too. Then again, it's a very wealthy country and if you were caught stealing or vandalising the punishment would probably be harsher than most western countries. If you were foreign you'd probably be deported and possibly not allowed back.

    • @doc7austin
      @doc7austin  3 роки тому +1

      yes, being caught doing graffiti will result in some pretty harsh penalties

      Possibly having your passport/freedom/limbs taken away from you is a compelling reason to not break the law.

      @@MaoistBanker The lack of human rights is definitely a major issue in the United Arab Emirates. Dismemberment, stoning, flogging and even crucifixion are legal punishments in the UAE. Women who report being raped are often charged for extramarital or premarital sex. Yes, women are actually charged for being raped. Try to wrap your mind around that. As much as I like the UAE, it's definitely far from utopia.

      @@noahartrip8110 Most people think that public safety is an important civil right. And in the UAE one is much safer than in any western capital.
