    I just prepped these, and did not have the same amount of liquid. Also confusing because 10-12 ears equals how many cups of kernels? Online I found that 3/4 cup for one ear, which makes this 7.5 cups. My masa wasn't nearly as wet, maybe fresh corn produces more liquid. I'll come back with an update- i am steaming them today. -update... I used a whole can of sweetened condensed milk. I used a large bag of frozen corn and 8 medium frozen cobs of corn. 7.5 cups total. I added corn meal, half a cup at a time, til I was happy with consistency of the masa, about 2 cups total. steam 45 mins in the instant pot. they came out great!

    Yeah, in the States it’s hard to make uchepos without adding cornmeal. The first time I tried, they fell apart. I use P.A.N. cornmeal, so they don’t feel as grainy. Ours tend to be more savory, but now I want to taste these sweet ones. Love Pati’s show.

      My dear Pattie in your next video on tamales remember to mention that there is a soft side on the husk to spread masa on so they won't stick lov you joe from San Elizario Tx.

    Well…try to make pork/Chile Colorado tamales from start to finish and rajas con queso and green salsa chicken. It is not easy! 😂😂😂

    These are not uchepos, this is the hipster/yt version of them. I'm from Michoacán so I know.
