I’m in Johnson City. I take road trips all the time through western North Carolina. All up and down the Blue Ridge Parkway. I’ve kept my curiosity at bay and not driven down that way since the hurricane.. I just can’t believe based on the videos how much everything is changed and the places that I’ve been to so many times have been altered or in some cases completely destroyed.
In the summer of 2023 Vermont was hit by a 10 inch rain storm, which may not sound like much. The issue was it had been raining hard on and off for two months. It then rained another seven or so inches. The state capital was flooded along with many of its small towns. Farmers lost all their crops. A year later a similar storm on the same exact day damaged the state again. The days of 1,000 year storms are over. I am sorry for all of your losses. So many lives lost and so many peoples lives changed forever. Take care

@billmyer2990 This is what concerns me. When Katrina happened. Many left to go to other states to be with family, or to find affordable housing. Lack of places to be able to stay. Very concerning since we had a housing crisis before this. Now , they did do the FEma trailers in N.O. I don’t know if they will here. The terrain is different.

Hey Kathryn, since you live in Asheville when this happened you should know getting out wasn’t as simple as your saying. For most of the weekend we could not leave the Maggie valley area at all, in fact we were lucky that we were able to get out of western nc when we did. I’m sure people would have loved to get out, but landslides and flooded roads made it impossible, the land itself where those roads were aren’t even there anymore. This will take decades to recover from.
trumps lies have hurt us so in NC
That is not true. Did you get your $750??
Biden and Harris administration has hurt the USA more!
This happened under Biden-Harris Administration... What did Democrats do for you? Nothing but the same old crap everyday. What did Harris say when you seen her? Nothing she cared so much she never came there but Trump did two days after this happened.
The Democrats shutdown the coal mines!!
What does that have to do with this video? That’s also B.S.
