I just bought these for my CBR1100XX and I appreciate the attention to detail in this video.
Thanks for the video, today I also ordered Delkevic 13 tri - oval. I can't wait for them to arrive and mount them on my 2003 FJR.
Respect
Mike,
I bought the 13 in tri ovals and LOVE them. No popping at all just like you said. The bike actually seems to run better. It feels like it pulls a little harder as well. The best aftermarket exhaust setup I’ve had to date 👍 Thanks again for the Awesome and informative video. I appreciate the attention to detail.
Hello, glad it worked out. Yea, I think it runs and pulls better too. I also think, since it sound's so much better, it kind of feels like a better bike. Thanks
Mike I have a 2019 ES and I put these pipes on today. No issues and did it in under 45 mins. Love the sound and these are well built. Worth the money and the upgrade. Thumbs up buddy 👍
Great! Glad it worked out. I did try removing the baffles recently and I found the tone quality about the same. Just a increase in sound level with them out. Thanks
Great video. I ordered a set today for my 2008 FJR.
Great. Hope you like them like I do.
Great video,looks and sounds really good,ride safe,Phil.
Thanks
nice video, I just got the same pipe for my 2014 trophy se, appreciate the attention to detail it was a very quick swap especially having only one
Thanks
Great video again, but Im sticking with my original pipes on this bike . I used to have chops back in the day and they all had straight through pipes :) Ive enjoyed the standard pipes in later years and my hearing issues. :)
Very nice video thanks for sharing it i just bought the same one just today
Thanks. I'm glad I did it. Hope it works out for you as well.
wow, right here in jersey! (i'm located in the northern part) 2016 FJR1300es
Congrats on your channel Mike! I'm a motovlogger and have had my channel for 8 years now. I don't monetize it. I also own a 2015 FJR and really wish I had a meaner sounding exhaust. I can't go too loud, years ago a neighbor called the cops on me saying I was drag racing my Suzuki Intruder with very loud drag pipes. My wife banned me from anything loud.. Good luck..
Thanks, the delkevics with the baffle changes the tone more than volume.
Hi, just installed same pipes on my 16 ES. Your video helped alot. For some reason when I located the support straps behind the support post, they were both a bit crooked angled in towards the wheel. I double checked the Delkevic site and discovered they are to be attached outboard of the support post. That straightened them out. Note that the stock pipe goes inboard. Not sure whats different as you put yours inboard and that worked fine.
Hello, I think I just preferred them slightly inward. I may have had them a little rotated to composite as I'm looking at them now and there straight along the rim. But if you look down they look slightly inward.
Great video. I just installed mine but always have leaks and smells. Have to reinstall this again.
Hello, yeah make sure the pipe was clean of the old gasket and there is plenty of compound on both surfaces. Mine I had no leaks or smells. Good luck...
Quite different sound yes. But does it have the same resistanse, so no engine adjustements are needed?
Mike I hope you & yours are doing well. Stay safe
Thanks,
my brother passed away back in the beginning of November. So, I'm the only family left and the executer of estate. I'm in full time home restoration construction mode so I can sell the house and pay off his debt and hopefully get something for my efforts as well. That's why I've been unable to do any new videos that I wanted to do. Once I get this estate settled, I can get back to making videos.
@@mikesfjrcorner7129 Sorry to hear about you brother. I know how that feels. I’ll be praying for you! God bless!
I also received the same set of pipes for my 2002 FJR and I planned to mount them this weekend ... Although I heard the sound in your video I really wonder how it will sound in real. Anyway, great video! Thanks!
It should sound similar. I tried to capture the tone in the video. I myself had no regret's. Thanks
@@mikesfjrcorner7129 I installed the pipes this weekend and ... the sound is just perfect. Not too loud, a nice deep tone. They also look great on the FJR. Absolutely no regrets I bought them. Now I hope the cops will be nice to me because in Holland these are not street legal 😉 #whodareswins!
Glad it worked out. I'm thinking of getting the headers from them also. I have a dent in the 1st cylinder of the header near the collector box. Thanks, Mike.
🏍💨💨💨
Hi Mike, did you have to change anything in the 'mapping'? Thanks.
No, as long as you use the stock air filter.
When I get a chance this winter, I'm installing matching headers. This will require tuning.
Thanks, mike
Mike,
Awesome video 👍 I was wondering if you noticed any popping or any lean running conditions after you installed the new pipes?
Hello, for me, I have not noticed any difference in running. However it feels better. I believe this is a perceived improvement as the engine sounds great. It no longer sounds like a 600.
Thanks Mike,
I appreciate the videos. I have a 2005 in galaxy blue and love it. I have thought about doing the block off plates as well as the exhaust to smooth out the low end a little. Plus I love the sound of delkevic exhaust.
Good video.. I'm looking to get these for my 99 bandit 1200. What was the weight savings?
Sorry, I never got to weight them.
Great video I've ordered the same set for my FJR do you ride with the baffles out if so how do you find them
Hi, I ride with the baffles in. The baffles give me tone without the loud. It's a person's preference.
Either way, we now have a choice. Enjoy them, they sound great.
@@mikesfjrcorner7129 thanks Mike fitted mine yesterday sounds great same as yours I've left the baffles in loud enough for me hopefully there won't be any heat problems on the cases
@@Thomo_qld nope, not much heat there. They're great for the money. Enjoy.
Thanks, mike
Are you running a stock air filter? Do you notice any power difference?
I have a stock air filter. I've only rode the bike on local roads, so I have not had the opportunity to open it up yet, but my first impression is I think it does have a little more power. I'll report back when I find out more.
Here is the dyno chart from the Delkevic web site.

Hello, after driving with the delkevic's for a little over a month I defiantly like the sound. They are just right at idle, just loud enough to cover most of the engine mechanical noise, but not two loud. It defiantly made the engine sound deeper. I have not tried without the baffle's.
It seems to run smoother and a slight amount of torque increase. Nothing else was changed. I even made sure I purchased the same gas from the same station.
However I'm not sure if this is due to I have a small crease in the cylinder 1 header near the collector box that was in there when I purchased the bike. I'm thinking the less back pressure may help decrease any effects the crease may have on the smoothness of the engine.
I like your videos very much. I was just curious what brand torque wrench you use.
I have one that's a harbor freight, but the one I used in the videos i'm not sure who made it. It was my fathers years ago as he was a pilot. His flying buddy was in the national guard and it came from him. I remember my dad torquing the prop bolts with it.
@@mikesfjrcorner7129 Thank you!!
Weight difference between these and stock would be useful to know.
Ok, Ill weigh them when I do the Delkevic headers video sometime this spring.
Mike do you find these pipes loud as hell or am I being a wimp? Thanks
Hello, no they don't. They are just right. Just enough to hear the engine tone during driving but not enough to be annoying. They seemed to quiet down slightly after breaking in. Listen to the video's posted after this video.
MikesFJRCorner thanks mike. What was that sealant you used to connect the pipes? Thank you
It was what came with the exhaust. I'm guessing it was an exhaust forma gasket type sealant.
Any way I can remove the baffle on this pipes
Hello, yes the baffle removes with a screw on the end of the pipes.
Thank you!!!
It looks good but does it SOUND GOOD? Guess we will never know!
shame we couldn't hear them on your mobike....hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
