Welcome back to the channel today i review a sharpener for lawnmower blades. You are suppose to sharpen lawnmower blades without taking them off. The tool did it's job and sharpened the blades pretty good but there are a few things that i would change on the design. - Навчання та стиль
The main reason is to take them off is to make sure they're balanced. When you sharpen the blades, you are removing material. You need to make sure you remove the same amount of material from both sides. Meaning you weigh the blade, sharpen 1 side, re-weigh the blade, sharpen the other side trying to remove close to the same amount of material. Unbalanced blades lead to wobble, which leads to more wear on the mower and worse cuts. Make them unbalanced enough and they're liable to shake apart/catastrophically fail
Every other video I see says to the blade OFF. No one ever says WHY. I like your way so much better and it so much easier! Thanks!

I had wondered about that rubber and if would help or be a hinderance. I think you're right about being a maintenance tool rather than an entire job tool.
They might do a better job if i took the blade off and had a faster drill.
Disconnect the cable to the spark plug BEFORE you attempt this on a gas-powered lawn mower. Turning the blade to sharpen it might cause it to start.
When you said "lawnmower blade sharpening" I thought, "oh great I'm going to see caked on grass." Not so.

How do you ensure that your blade is balanced?
With a blade balancer which requires removal of the blade. 😉
