That’s what makes the scene so funny for me. She’s trying so hard to be nice and just give this guy a chance but it’s Charlie Kelly. Her delivery(and the way she puts her hands on the table) of “I’m sorry did you say you’re a full on rapist” is one of my favorite lines in the whole show. 😂

The epitome of absurdity: The fact that the guy at the beach was actually willing to buy a beat up, old car sunk underwater from a sketchy dude sleeping under a blanket on the sidewalk in broad daylight, and he still got yelled at for being nice.... My goodness I fuckn love Sunny

The nurse who won't have any of Dennis' "gusts of a thousand winds" speech is the most relatable character in the entire show.
It really would be a self-discussion of "is getting an assault charge worth slapping this idiot silly?"

It reminds me of that awesome right hook video. Some teens are at lunch and these boys take turns yanking the hair of a few girls... Until this scrawny guy pulls the weave off a black girl's hair. And gets smacked into the next war.
I like how she threatens violence in retaliation for mere words and she's still the rational one lol
What I like about It’s Always Sunny is it feels like what would happen if you dropped sitcom characters in real life. The outside world always reacts with shock and disgust when they deal with the gang. Sometimes something weird happens but for the most part I feel like the reactions are totally what you would get if someone saw these freaks in real life.

Pretty neat take. I like imagine its like trash human beings that have the power of television. Where they have no consequences that last. Them and the people that associate and disassociate with the group.
I always pitch this show as "Watch bad things happen to bad people who have no idea why bad things keep happening".
Your take is pretty interesting though. I might wanna borrow it next time I recommend this show.
Eh, I don't know about that - look at social media, these people definitely exist in real life. Sadly, they would probably be fairly popular because of their constant, unfounded confidence in themselves and their ideas. For better or worse, people judge on perceived authority/competence rather than actual competence.
Cricket is the example of someone who tried to interact with them for too long. Like radiation ,constant exposure causes deformities.

I’ve seen Charlie’s blind date a thousand times and because I was focused on him talking I never picked up on him handling her back the bloody napkin. Priceless
most comedies only make me laugh once, like i'll watch a comedy & i can't rewatch it cuz it's just boring.
idk why but every single time i rewatch It's Always Sunny, it always makes me laugh.
Another great part in that scene is that Charlie wipes all around his face with the napkin, but completely misses the part of his cheek that is bleeding lmao

It's so true though. "Normal" bars with blasting lights suck and are filled with PC zombies.

Tbh I sometimes feel like Kaitlin is a little underappreciated. That's probably cuz she plays everyone's least favourite character. Eh, at least no one is harassing her for her characters shitty-ness (noticed how that sometimes happens to actresses that play bitchy characters don't know why).

I love how so many of these “normal characters” after prolonged exposure to The Gang end up being corrupted themselves. ( Cricket, The Waitress, Rex, Bill and Maureen Ponderosa, The Lawyer.) And I’m sure the list probably doesn’t stop there. 😂

I’ve noticed the central premise of this show is the main characters completely lack self-awareness and are oblivious to social norms. They live in their own separate world which blends into our world.

I loved the earlier seasons' normal people because they're not even sitcom normal, they're actual normal.
These are genuinely my favorite scenes in the show. They are usually isolated but when they go out into the real world it really gives you an idea how mentally ill they all are. Them meeting with the interventionist will always be my favorite!

Every time i re-watch the show (which is often) Caitlin gets funnier and funnier. She's so good at physical comedy and her timing, tone and expressions are so on point. I love her sm

Not gonna lie, I think Wally asserted, both physically and mentally, dominance over the neighborhood, so Mac was caught way off Guard. Dennis was also caught off guard by Wally's psychopathy and his will to assert some sort of suburban chin-check. .

It was subversive too because at that moment Wally was the one causing the others to freeze in social repulsion instead of the gang
7:20 "I just had a heart attack" Seriously, I was a personal trainer for women over 60, and one day I filled-in for another trainer, at another gym, and one of his regulars was in a group session... I asked about injuries or anything I needed to know about before class and during the warm-up.... Minutes later I have one of the 4 ladies in my group on dumbbells, and she's putting them up, but her arms are shaking....
Now, arms shaking while maintaining form, is a good sign of productive exertion, within a tolerance, if the arms are shaking uncontrollably, irregularly, then there is an issue...
One day a woman came into these classes, and during dumbbells, and her arms are shaking and she says "I can't do it, I can't..." and I go for encouragement saying "You got this! You're almost there! Good! Up!" and she says "No, I don't... I just had open heart surgery 10 days ago."
"WHAT!?!?! Put those down. Put everything down. Why are you here? Why didn't you say anything? You could easily rupture your surgical bonds and cease to be with us my dear... If I ask "Anything I need to know" then "I just had heart surgery" is right at that top of that list... way up there..."
