If a dish of food is simple, all the better. Non cooks can rustle up a tasty meal in no time at all, and this pasta dish looks tasty to me. Easy to prepare, the bacon will add that something extra, and anyone could add extra onions if they wished, perhaps diced mushrooms as well. A pasta dish can be whatever you want it to be, and if you fancy something inexpensive yet tasty, a quick and easy dish like your's Greg is a sure fire winner. I think I will make a pasta meal for the family tonight, yum!.
Omg Yummo! To make the diced bacon crispy move it into the middle of the pan and cover it with a smaller fry pan or saucepan lid. Stir occasionally & instead of wine you can use a small amount of water whatever you decide to use place the jar upside down on the bench for about a minute then open over your pasta gets a lot more sauce out.
I made a dish like this for my son when he was a teenager. I used plain tomato sauce rather than pasta sauce. I threw some frozen peas into the pasta water about 2mins before the end. Noodles, peas and bacon. A long time family favourite.
Lol, i don't watch your videos to learn how to become a chef. I watch your videos because you are damn entertaining and actually give some useful tips along the way... THUMBS UP!!
Greg's Kitchen no problem. I have no idea how I never discovered your channel before. It's great to be able to unwind during revision for med school finals with your crazy craziness...
Hi Greg! Antoine from Switzerland here and I found a recipe that I think you'll find really interesting: a pizza in a mug made in the microwave. This is a very special subscriber view recipe for you. Here we go! 1. In a mug, add 4 tablespoons of flour, 1/8 teaspoon of salt, 1/8 teaspoon of baking powder and add a pinch of baking soda. 2. Add in 3 tablespoons of milk and 1 tablespoon of oil (any kind) and mix thoroughly. 3. That's the dough done, add some tomato sauce on to the top. 4. Add some shredding cheese on top. 5. To add some extra zing, top with some herbs or small pieces of pepperoni. 6. Microwave for 70 - 80 seconds on high. I did it one night and it was amazing. It's absolutely revolutionary. Do give this one a go. It'll make for a great video, I'm sure. Keep doing your thing, Greggo! This vid will defy not get you thumbs down, Gretta.
WHY DO I ALWAYS LAUGH WHEN I WATCH YOUR VIDEOS....I EVEN LOVE THE INTRO SONG!! YOU ARE BEYOND FUNNY AND YOU LIGHT UP THE SCREEN....that's no BS from Texas...Roz
I do this pretty frequently. Most of the time I use a 50 cent box of mac and cheese and hamburger and even ground turkey. Pretty cheep o , easy and fast. Sometimes I put in the oven with cheese all over the top and let it bake until the cheese gets all brown and bubbly.
Good job. It wasn't really lazy though. Simple maybe but not lazy. Lazy to me would be instant ramen noodles, microwaving something or making a plain sandwich. You chopped, cooked bacon and boiled pasta. Still a thumbs up from me. Nice video. 👍🏼
This is exactly the same as what i do when feeling lazy. But i go even lazier and buy the pasta and sauce with the powdered sauce mix. So i can choose flavours like chicken and leek or tomato etc. throw cheese on it to finish off preferably parmesan if you have some.
What I would do as a poor student was to fry chopped up bacon in a saute pan, add minced meat (usually a pork and beef mix), add a good squirt of ketchup, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper and a heap of cayenne pepper, throw in macaroni, add some water and let it simmer until the macaroni was soft enough for my taste. That saute pan would last about three days and cost me about €5.
I always use the cheap Raguletto pasta sauce with the chunky veg, the other brands are way way to salty i can't eat them, I use sandwich ham chopped not bacon and some salami i chop if the budget allows. A single chopped onion and when cooking the pasta always a pinch of salt and some olive oil. Another cheaper way is a tin of peeled tomatoes like the italians do, get get them for around 99 cents, they make the best sauce especially if you add onion.
I would have heated the sauce in the frying pan before mixing it with the pasta... get all that baconey goodness out of the pan. Yummo. I sometimes substitute the bacon for chorizo.
Thumbs up... but with the price of bacon nowadays..not a true poverty meal.... True brokenness is a pound of pasta..99¢, and a jar of sauce...99¢...a meal for 2-3 nights...
Is that one of those stoneware, stone something, pans? I use a frying pan 2+ times a day and they all bulge out in the center and wobble around on the stove in less than a week. Will a pan like yours stay flat? Thanks Greg.

Simple meals are the best meals and this one looks YUMBO!

you're right. It was simple and that's what I like.
yay I found an easy meal to make for me and my sister thanks Greg
This would be perfect for camping! 😀
HA.. was just binge watching your videos. Perfect timing.
great! :D
I would have added the bacon fat to the pasta, but then that's me. I want to lubricate everything inside.
Darn right! I almost got angry that he didn't add it 😃
I know right? It wasn't even that much fat for that quantity of pasta.
All that smoky flavor going to waste...
Marius Florin and if he poured it down the drain it would solidify in the pipes. Better in his belly.
Greggo is already quite well-lubed
Plus where was the butter? :D

Some of the best tasting meals, are the simplest. This looks great!

I do the same thing but use a 99c can of Tuna instead of bacon...and Cheese. Thanks Grego.
I get that dish, I don't eat bacon, but I do the same recipe with a can of tuna instead and it taste amazing!
“If you don’t like bacon use some HAM or chicken” Love your videos man 😂 shout outs from Sydney!!
love the bachelor / student recipes greggo!
Hey that's alright greg, even if I kinda know my way around a kitchen i still enjoy watching the basics.
Love it, who cares how you cook food unless it tastes good?
always makes me laugh when you touch the hot pans lol

Nice one greg, I made this on more than one occasion. I'd also throw an onion in there too if i had one!
onions make you rich!
mikejjOZ Ohh fresh vegetables, we got an aristocrat in here.
My missus likes adding Butter and Parmesan cheese to the pasta after you drain it. Yum
More like this please Greggo!
love this new concept! keep it up greggo. :)
A coffee /machine/boiler or water heater can be used for the pasta and if you add fish fingers instead of bacon you can use a toaster for them. :)
Christ, you must be either poor or homeless! KS, FB already!
John Karavitis Ha ha ha! Been both but been a poor student for many years and one tend to pick up tricks along the way. :)
Who the hell would want to add fish fingers to pasta? That sounds disgusting.
You clearly have never been poor and/or a student. Many times you can't choose what to eat.
This is the kind of lesson that those kids need to learn in 'adulting classes'
Mmmmmm bacon... looks very appetizing
The only reason someone could possibly dislike this video is because there wasn't enough bacon ;) BAAAAAAACOOOON.
Awesome video.
man i have to admit you look good with those glasses ;)
sunnybank will be good hehehe
The new specs, the background music, the pasta, the wine... I'm putty.
Idk why but I really like that frying pan 🍳

i love this man, but i never know how to express it
You are a crazy guy with a crazy Uri Geller fork. Love it!
Btw, how do you make a good meal better? Just add bacon 😁
Awesome dish. Than you for sharing your video 😂😂👍

🙂 A blast from the past.
That Australian bacon is awesome. Hey man, I love poverty meals, I'm on a tight budget.
Unfortunately I can only give one thumb up - I wish it would be possible to give ten and more thumbs up!

Greg, did you know that red, red wine makes me feel so fine?

lol
greg u drank from that bottle like you needed a shop doorway
i like that paster sauce its my favorite and is only 2 dollars
Use a bigger pan for the bacon and then bung the pasta and pasta sauce into that.
If anyone really needs this recipe then let me suggest that you save the bacon fat. It's fantastic for frying up eggs etc.
Nice eating utensil!
