I had a near death experience when I had my oldest son and I had cancer but I'm free from it, five years on. TWICE God has healed me and brought me back to life. Your body might be dead, but your soul will always wander. I was looking down at my body from the ceiling before entering my body again.
Thanks god that made you near death and healed you back to life. (why don't you realize that good and bad things are parts of your life. They are natural)
Testimonials like yours are available in all religions, including Buddhism. I have heard of people who are cured after practicing Vipassana Meditation too. It simply proved Karma and not any God's power. If it's God, why didn't God prevent people from having such sicknesses in the first place?
My Grandpa had the same thing happen in the early 70s. He came out of his body 3 times in the same day. He was floating near the ceiling looking down at his body. He said even though he was a christian he still found it a crazy realization that you are not a body.
As i understand it, Buddhists are not saying that you can't love your family, be with your family, and cherish your family. All the text is saying is that you should not let your family become the main source of your happiness, that should come from within.
@@thomaswashington2127 his name is Siddhartha Gautama. He left his family because he was looking for the cessation of suffering. So he became anesthetic. After a while he realized the middle way. He never stopped caring about his family. What he advocate is for was non-attachment. Buddhists say the world God created is an illusion. To not rejoice and gives thanks to the glory of God our LORD and saviour but to turn away, deny all desire, even the desire to be close to God, deny Jesus Christ as the Son of God. The Buddha teaches rebirth, not reincarnation. Reincarnation implies a stable soul or self. The buddha's teaching about "no self" make reincarnation impossible. after you die, you are dead, but there is a karmic continuation. Re-birth in the Buddhadharma is moment to moment.
I think this guy did a pretty excellent job explaining Buddhism from a Christian perspective. However, I disagree that Buddhism teaches that everything bad that happens to us is our bad karma. The Buddha clearly denies this in the Samyutta Nikaya scirpture: “Master Buddha, there are some spiritual figures and religious leaders who hold such a doctrine and view as this: ‘Whatever a person experiences, whether it be pleasant or painful or neither, all that is caused by what was done in the past.’ What does Master Buddha say about this?” “Some feelings, Sivaka, arise here originating from bile disorders...phlegm disorders ... wind disorders ... from an imbalance of the three ... produced by change of climate ... produced by careless behavior ... caused by assault ... produced as the result of karma: that some feelings arise here produced as the result of karma one can know for oneself, and that is considered to be true in the world…Therefore I say that this view of karma is wrong on the part of those spiritual figures and religious leaders.” -Samyutta Nikaya, page 1,279 Also, most Buddhists don't believe that spiritual liberation is a state of non-existence. In the majority of Theravada Buddhists, they believe that nirvana is a state of aggregates that are permanent, rather than consisting of the impermanent aggregates that are in samsara. Only a minority of Theravada Buddhists believe that nirvana is an annihilation of life. And then the Mahayana Buddhists believe that a liberated person should be a bodhisattva--someone who keeps being reborn in samsara but as a spiritually liberated figure that helps others reach salvation.
I'm a theravada buddhist and Buddhism is taught as a class in school ( in every grade). What we believe is that niravana is a form of non-existence. Although, there maybe other theravada buddhist from other countries that have different interpretations of nirvana.
@@YukiiReads what country are you from? I think too that the two camps of Theravada either are more influenced by the sarvastivada or sautrantika Buddhist schools. The sarvastivada believed nirvana is more blissful while the saitrantika believed nirvana is non-existence.

Although as a Muslim I think Buddhism is a good religion as instead of trying to give a answer to a cosmic equation that we'll probably never get the a answer to it seems to teach that for every reaction there's as opposite reaction. Good deed carry you in life life well bad deeds destroy your viewpoint on morality. Plus I haven't seen nor head now talked to god so I can't say he exists. I think they are the same thing, I mean Jesus visited India and brought Eastern religion to the middle east. The Christian texts have just been manipulated so much over the centuries that they are unrecognizable from what they originally were.
There's no evidence for that; even apocryphals don't mention anything similar. Mediterranean culture has its own version of 'Buddhism,' which is Gnosticism. Jesus could have been a naturally self-enlightened person who experienced God. If you look at Jesus' teachings from a nondual perspective, it makes a lot sense.
The Buddha's Words on Kindness (Metta Sutta) This is what should be done By one who is skilled in goodness, And who knows the path of peace: Let them be able and upright, Straightforward and gentle in speech. Humble and not conceited, Contented and easily satisfied. Unburdened with duties and frugal in their ways. Peaceful and calm, and wise and skillful, Not proud and demanding in nature. Let them not do the slightest thing That the wise would later reprove. Wishing: In gladness and in saftey, May all beings be at ease. Whatever living beings there may be; Whether they are weak or strong, omitting none, The great or the mighty, medium, short or small, The seen and the unseen, Those living near and far away, Those born and to-be-born, May all beings be at ease! Let none deceive another, Or despise any being in any state. Let none through anger or ill-will Wish harm upon another. Even as a mother protects with her life Her child, her only child, So with a boundless heart Should one cherish all living beings: Radiating kindness over the entire world Spreading upwards to the skies, And downwards to the depths; Outwards and unbounded, Freed from hatred and ill-will. Whether standing or walking, seated or lying down Free from drowsiness, One should sustain this recollection. This is said to be the sublime abiding. By not holding to fixed views, The pure-hearted one, having clarity of vision, Being freed from all sense desires, Is not born again into this world.

I think it's selfish to want to avoid suffering. I think as humans, suffering is the most important thing we can endure. But suffering for Christ is true joy because Jesus suffered for our sake, and so too we are to suffer until the world is made new. I think Buddha's advice of the following is even better: “Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. This guy misunderstood the term "no self" as Buddha taught. Maybe he focused too much on himself. A little effort to research the correct meaning is better than to be lazy and display that ignorance for the world to see.
Can't blame him because he believes in Christianity. The Buddha said IGNORANCE is the root cause of the 3 poisons: delusion, greed and aversion. So true.
One of the biggest things people do which is idiotic is they think because a religion is from a different part of the world it isn't relevant in their lives, but remember christianity came from the middle east as well as judaism and islam, and also if something is true it is universally true regardless of what part of the world it is native to. It is insanely ignorant to act as though the religion that is most prevalent in the area you live in just happens to the be the correct one that argument doesn't hold any ground. Also preconceived beliefs do not justify something being true. Buddhism addresses the issues that people go through, Christianity doesn't even attempt to address it, it just tells you to let Jesus and or Yahweh to take care of it. I spent 17 years from birth in extremist christianity, I offered myself before the lord that I accepted at that time, I rejected the lust of the flesh and I never received the holy spirit and I never felt connected to god or even drawn to him, I studied the bible all of that time and it never gave me anything I need in life. Buddhism has, and I always look for videos like that and not once has anyone ever given me a good reason to seek christianity. If I am bound for hell I will seek Nirvana and teaching how to achieve it to the damned and demons alike, none are doomed for eternity no matter where a god places me and nothing can take away the ability to find eternal bliss. And I would never want the christian heaven because if it is filled with christians I wouldn't be happy in a place like that with that many ignorant people for eternity.

So they intentionally collect money during mass and don't use a box like Buddhism, Hinduism or Chinese temples where people can donate anytime. Catholics and Islam even made it bigger by suggesting a certain percentage from their income. 7) Bad teachings, eg by saying Jesus turned water into wine, story of incest of a father who sexed with her 2 daughters, story of Jacob who married a young girl which Islam copied later, encouraging hatred eg in Mark's words 16:16, breaking up family in Matthew 10:21 - 42 and Luke's 19:27, and so many other violence etc. 9) Words like "Lord" "Father" "serve God" etc are tricky to make followers obedient or feel like slaves and be submissive to them. Words like God "love you" "forgive" "sins" to trick gullible people but true compassion wasn't taught. Hatred and violence are very much encouraged as the Bible said God killed many people compared to Satan who killed only a few. 9) Pastors who committed suicide or killed eg Jarrid Wilson, Jim Howard, Andrew Stoecklein, Gene Jacobs, "Bubba" Copeland, Phillip Loveday etc, 10) Incidents like Covid-19 when all top 50 highest fatality rate countries are all high Christian population countries, AirAsia plane crash of 2014 when 2 Korean missionaries, their child and over 40 church members from Indonesia all died, etc.

A close friend of mine who is "born again" told me that Jesus said, "you are with me, or against me" to which i replied, "i don't think i could ever trust with the whole of my life a "God" who was a Godfather in the Mafia. of course, he took great offence and told me i would go to hell for such blasphemy. at hearing this, i was tranquil enough to say, "so be it, if according to you"
So sorry a "Christian" said this to you. It sounds like they have missed some things taught in the Bible. Nowhere does it say in the Bible that anyone is going to the hell of fire for a particular sin. The only thing close to that is Jesus' teaching about blaspheming against the Holy Spirit as being unforgivable. The Biblical view is that we are all separated from our creator God due to our nature; that alone has destined us for the firey hell, which we are told (in New Testament) is not a place God made for people, but for the evil one, Satan and his followers, referring to the spirit beings who followed him. I think of it as like we boarded a train with a horrific destination, and Jesus has made a way for getting off that train and onto a train headed to him, as the final destination. However, interestingly, babies and young children who die do seem to go to heaven where Jesus is. What we also know from the Bible is that God looks on people's hearts. Truly those who seek their creator find him. So Jesus told people, knock, and keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you; seek and keep seeking and you will find. He also said God is a spirit and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth. God is also a father who wants a relationship with each of us; he loves each of us. Jesus claimed he alone was the way to his Father. Was Jesus a good teacher or was he a liar or was he crazy? Was Jesus who he claimed to be?

You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way. (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT)
That's an absolute falsehood. Yeshua Ben Yosef had some good moral teachings for his time, but he was ultimately a teacher of false doctrines based on fear and the worship of himself as the avatar of a storm/war god from southern Levant. The Tathagata himself defeated false doctrines in countless debates and emerged undefeated, as did many of the great teachers. Buddhists *should* (respectfully) debate Christians, Muslims, and other holders of false doctrines. Too many Western Buddhists are weak in this regard.
@@bravedepths if some God created us all why did he put so much suffering in this world.... There r people who are poor, sick, sad there r many living beings who r suffering every single day..... But in Buddhism it has all the answers to the suffering in this world & why it exists & how we can release ourselves from suffering....
@@thisulwickramarachchi2380 Hello! Sorry for the late response; I am just seeing this now. To answer your question of why there’s so much suffering in this world, we must come to terms with human nature. In the beginning, we were destined for eternity; however, through the disobedience of man, sin came to be and corrupted the earth. Because sin entered, no longer do we acquire the good God given system. The reason for suffering is because of mankind, the reason for illnesses, corruption, and evil is because of man. Our sin has separated us from God. It is because of our separation from him that there is suffering. But in order to be united with Him again, God gave Jesus Christ, who was the “lamb” that was sacrificed to atone for it. He died but conquered death. When he returns to establish His throne, he will restore his original plan, which is everlasting life; a place where there will be no sin, death, corruption; the former things will pass away. One needs to accept and put their faith in Christ, then you will become born-again. I can also say the same thing for Christianity having all the answers. One just needs to seek the truth and expand their knowledge, so I am glad that is what you are doing. I am also doing the same by learning about other beliefs. In Christianity we also have the answer to suffering (which is caused through sin), how to solve it, why we exist, and how to attain everlasting life; an answer to defeat death. Jesus Christ comes to redeem and free you from sin; to give you a new life, hope, and prosperity. If there are some areas you are still confused about, please ask, I’d be happy to discuss :)

According to Buddhist teaching it is the idea of self that is one of the cause of suffering. Greed selfishness, Anger and Hostilities and delusion arise from the idea of self.
The tone was somewhat condescending, but the overall presentation of Buddhism is surprisingly okay, compared to other videos from evangelical leaders. Your presentation of karma is wrong though, and the critique apologists typically use (saying a sick child brought it on themselves) is a misconception. Karma does not explain EVERY thing that happens to you (there are five orders of conditions, karma is one of them, biology is another one that would explain sickness much better).
@@thomaswashington2127 that's my reading of the Sivaka Sutta SN36.21. Of course you'll find controversy in Buddhism around it and different views. Buddhism is not monolithic. Most people doesn't understand their own religion. Christianity is all about FAITH. FAITH in yourself and in God. And that's why Christianity is better than Buddhism. Buddhism is mostly about "no conception, no worries, just empty your head". And that's ok, if you suffered a lot and in search for therapy for trauma. Jesus teaches us that this life has a meaning, every single step, that we are born to be alive, joyful and strong because each soul matters. But I know, its much cooler to just say my way is the only way.
This not too bad a synopsis of Buddhism in general. He concludes that the main point about Buddhism Is that Buddhists don't necessarily beleive in an almighty God. So I think the main thing he has against Buddhism Is that he was not born as one. If he had been he would probably give a good Dhamma talk😁🙏☸
There is no hope of a happy life in Buddhism, Jesus offers the better life, the plans he has for us is to have a hope and future and healing, Buddhism fails to offer hope beyond death.
Many of the things he said about Buddhism are quite correct except about Nirvana. The goal of Buddhism is to become enlightened and reach nirvana. Nirvana is believed to be attainable only with the elimination of all greed, hatred, and ignorance within a person. Nirvana signifies the end of the cycle of death and rebirth which is called Samsara. In Buddhism, all beings are cycling in the 6 realms of samsara which are Heaven, Asura, Humans, Animals/Insects, Hungry Ghost, and Hell. The lowest realm is hell, and the highest realm is heaven. Heaven has 7 levels. Even staying in Heaven isn't permanent and one has to be reborn again. Only to Nirvana one exits Samsara and ends suffering.
Thank you for explaining the fundamental principle of Christianity. I have yet to finish listening to your entire video. Just thought to say that another fundamental point is that Jesus was born free of SIN as He was not conceived in the usual human way. He is not another human who found enlightenment. And He laid down His life, not died due to the physical body's inability to support life any longer. And He conquered death by rising up on the third day and ascended. His birth was prophesied in the book of Genesis. And the bible is complete, not losing the last half. Nor is it based on oral transmission for a few hundred years. It is important that christians know Who and what principles they believe in.
Christianity says there is no reborn.but in my country there are few people who can remember their last lives. In Buddhism teaches us there is a reborn untill you attain to supreme of nibbana
Judaism did believe in rebirth and Karma if you check, but Christianity removed them when they stole their Hebrews Scriptures and modify it to be their Old Testament.

I think this guy did a pretty excellent job explaining Buddhism from a Christian perspective. However, I disagree that Buddhism teaches that everything bad that happens to us is our bad karma. The Buddha clearly denies this in the Samyutta Nikaya scirpture:
“Master Buddha, there are some spiritual figures and religious leaders who hold such a doctrine and view as this: ‘Whatever a person experiences, whether it be pleasant or painful or neither, all that is caused by what was done in the past.’ What does Master Buddha say about this?”
“Some feelings, Sivaka, arise here originating from bile disorders...phlegm disorders ... wind disorders ... from an imbalance of the three ... produced by change of climate ... produced by careless behavior ... caused by assault ... produced as the result of karma: that some feelings arise here produced as the result of karma one can know for oneself, and that is considered to be true in the world…Therefore I say that this view of karma is wrong on the part of those spiritual figures and religious leaders.”
-Samyutta Nikaya, page 1,279
Also, most Buddhists don't believe that spiritual liberation is a state of non-existence.

Lots of people will probably call me out but if you haven't seen god you than you shouldn't follow everything blindly.
The hocus pocus of the buddha has no value, only the blood the Jesus has redemptive worth.
Jesus taught to love your enemy. Bhudda abandoned his family to seek out enlightenment. There's no comparison. Bhudda died knowing nothing Jesus rose from the dead to be the answer to death. You wouldn't even know what it means to be christlike...to be a good person...if it wasn't for Jesus.

I think Buddha's advice of the following is even better:
“Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books.
Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it."

It's due to their Karma and ignorance. I always share these 10 points to save them:
These 10 points that proved Christianity’s source, origin, practice and purpose are irrefutable. The last 2 points proved their religion is really useless too:
1) A CREATOR god if true should be the first religion but the pagans, Greek, Chinese, Hinduism religions existed earlier and why didn't this all mighty god prevent other religions?
2) Why should an almighty and all knowing God allow their people to branch off and kill their parent religion Judaism or Zoroastruism and later allowed Islam to be created and had holy wars/crusades with them? "Free will" is not an excuse since they claimed their God killed all people with a big flood earlier.
3) Bible stories similar with older pagans, Greek, Egyptian or Hinduism religions(note the names too) E.g. Adam/Eve with Atman/Jiva a pair of birds, big flood and survivor Noah/3 sons with Manu/3 daughters, Abraham/Sarah with Brahma/Saraswathi, Moses with Krishna etc, all similar stories.
4) Jesus stories similar with Buddha: Maya and Mary, miracle birth and virgin birth, birth during a journey home and birth from home, prophesied after birth, had a disciple who betrayed them, walked on water stories, Gautama left the palace at age 29 and Jesus appeared at 29, Gautama became Buddha at 35 and Jesus died and resurrected at about 35 too, Buddha had a big meal while Jesus had a last supper before they died, 500 monks return from faraway to witness Buddha's cremation and later 500 Arahants witnessed compilation of Buddha's teachings and over 500 witnesses to Jesus's resurrection, Buddha sacrificed his future kingdom and family while Jesus sacrificed his life, there will be a future Buddha and Jesus will return, the Trinity is same meaning as in the 3 bodies of the Buddha etc. All coincidental? Beside Buddha, Jesus copied from Horus too. Surely they can't be ALL coincidental.
5) There was no record of Jesus in the Roman ACTA and scientists twice said the claimed shroud of Turin was from the Medieval Age and not 2000 years ago. Excuse made that scientists did not do a good job but when they asked for it to be examined again, the church rejected it.
6) Tricky tithings method. They know people will be shy not to pay or tend to pay more when others could be watching.
9) Pastors who committed suicide or killed eg Jarrid Wilson, Jim Howard, Andrew Stoecklein, Gene Jacobs, "Bubba" Copeland, Phillip Loveday etc,
10) Incidents like Covid-19 when all top 50 highest fatality rate countries are all high Christian population countries, AirAsia plane crash of 2014 when 2 Korean missionaries, their child and over 40 church members from Indonesia all died, etc.

That's an absolute falsehood. The Tathagata himself defeated false doctrines in countless debates and emerged undefeated, as did many of the great teachers.

Buddhism isn't a religon It's philosophy.. only wiser ,dedicated people can understand this and end all suffering. Lord buddha is just one who ended all suffering and he told us the way to end suffering . "I'm a science student but buddhism is beyond science. "

So they intentionally collect money during mass and don't use a box like Buddhism, Hinduism or Chinese temples where people can donate anytime. Catholics and Islam even made it bigger by suggesting a certain percentage from their income.

No, he said many things wrong but then he is a Christian, so certainly. Otherwise he will end up like Thomas Williams Rhys David.

You’re saying Christianity, Judaism and Islam are western religions, you’re wrong sir.
Western Eurasian
You're half right, yes they came from the east so true they are eastern religions anyone trying to denie that is clueless....but well Judeo Christianity is the religion of the west because it shaped and built the majority of it

First, you're coming at the whole thing completely wrong, one the root of all religions goes long before ppl in the west and east and countries in general....two,every religion goes back to one spiritual truth and knowledge of God and events in the history of the world because we all come from the same ppl, then for a plethora of reasons ppl began to create their own religions....thats also the reason that pretty much all religions of the world have pieces that are the same, because the knowledge was still known from that singular point
your whole the west not having an "original thriving" religion yeah wrong....again like every religion of the world they had roots and a couple of pieces from that original knowledge, but ppl who ended up in the western areas created their own religions the same as the ppl that ended up in whats now China or India and so on
This whole "adopted by the west" thing is ridiculous for multiple reasons....one the teachings of Judeo Christianity always belonged to everybody of the world, its the knowledge that the original ppl had....it was also never a middle eastern thing anyway....Judaism is the following of the knowledge and laws by a tribe/descents of a family line which later other middle eastern tribes "adopted"....Judeo Christianity, yes the teacher was born in the middle east and of that original tribe's line, but his teachings never belonged to the middle east or middle easterners he taught to Greeks and Romans and he said that his followers were to carry the message to all of the ppl of the world....after his death his disciples went to other cities then countries to spread the word as their teacher told them to do
Summary, yes the following of the word and laws of Judaism and Christianity were first done in the middle east, but so what ppl also started in the middle east....the teachings were brought from the middle east to the west and far east and in short the rest of the world and ppl began to follow it,again so what all of culture from everywhere is rooted in the middle east because again the original ppl....western country have created and practiced their own religions just look at history for five seconds and you'll see that,to claim otherwise wise is ludicrous and pushed by ignorant ppl with agendas....also Christianity is the religion of the western world, because 1)the majority of religious practitioners follow it,2)the teachings and values of it are the foundation of the majority of the western world,3)again we all come from the same ppl and the teachings of Judaism and Christianity is the knowledge of the orginal ppl....you can use the phrasing of "adopted it" if you want, but it's actually ppl going back to the knowledge of their ancestors...also
the phrasing of "adopted by the west" tends to go hand in hand with a certain agenda, but even if it was something that was randomly pulled out of a middle easterners ass(like islam)and westerners decided they liked it better then their religions and "adopted" it so what????look at how much the near east, middle east and far east countries have adopted from the western countries and farther more who cares
So you're wrong....also you do realize that "the east" is just a term referring to multiple countries with multiple ppls and religions right????there is no "eastern religion" but multiple religions in the eastern countries, like there are multiple religions in the western countries
@@robhogate2312 eastern religions are eastern, if by og ppl you mean Africa great, just because ancestors of the west adopted it from original ppl or middle easterners doesn't mean it wasn't, makes sense. We also have tons of Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Muslims, Judaism, etc. Also, again no offense to this church, sounds like we have tons more culture then this crowd (Koreans, Germans, Indians, Chinese, etc). You name it, we've got it in my town
That was a good ending
