As a northern situated Dane we hardly have problems with the light during summer, but only being visible. And as a most decent country for its inhabitants, we have a lot of special passes for cyclists, which are separated from the roads in towns and also outside those, so only during crossings we have a problem! I have just bought a lamp for the back with a Radar, which is able to show the traffic coming from behind! I also have a lamp in front which may double as a battery also for my Garmin Explore, Navigator. Finn. Denmark

I have watched a lot of videos of bicyclists in Denmark. Very impressed! Also, even further north like in Helsinki, Oulu (lots of snow!) and Stockholm people bike through the winter just fine and basically year round. The infrastructure is well maintained!

i like to have two front lights, one light that's bike mounted and other on my helmet w/ gopromount or something like that for two reasons. 1 big distance between beams from two light sources gives me much better depth perception to steer around road hazards like potholes or winter gravel piles 2 i can just turn my head and point 1000lumens in the window of a car with a driver on his phone and wag my index finger disapprovingly.

I mentioned that I only had one question, but I actually have a second question and a comment. The comment is that I like your NYC accent, it sounds a little Brooklyn, like maybe Bay Ridge, though it's not too strong. My second question is about the 2600 be remote. Does it have a watch battery that you only have to replace like once every year or two? Also, how waterproof is the actual remote, in your opinion? Thanks again and have a good weekend!

This review was helpful. Only one question I have about the Ray 2600 or 2600 B. (Really, is the only difference is because the latter has USB-C now?). The only way I can mount a light on the front of my bike in my current setup is upside down because I have a basket where I carry cargo that would obscure the handlebar front space for the light. I tried a bar extender but I didn't like the way they all wobble. I currently have a much less powerful light under the basket. The power button is therefore on the bottom of the light versus on the top. The reason why I would like to get the 2600 is not just the fact that it's more powerful, but because I can also have a remote on my handlebars that I can control output with. The way I see this light is designed is that it projects both the flood light and the light further away. Do you think by installing it upside down I will lose that feature some?

The remote switch does run on a "watch battery" I believe. Most of the lights by Magic Shine do need to be "right side up". I checked the 2600B I have and if you mount it upside down then the light has an outer clear portion that would be upside down possibly affecting how the light is seen. I would ask Magic Shine for an exact answer because it may still work (I believe they monitor these questions so they may chime in).

@@BromptonFamilyTime Yes, thank you for the reply! I'm going to go ahead and purchase it anyway because of the fact that it has a remote, and it's much brighter than my current 1400 lumen light. I like having the security of being able to use more lumens if I'm in a really dark place. I do think that if mounted upside down it will work just fine, because I'm planning on using the hybrid mode most of the time by the looks of it, I was just trying to be considerate to oncoming traffic and being able to turn off the farther away light with the remote from my handlebar if I see a car or another bicycle user approaching me. I know that it's not nice to get blinded by an oncoming vehicle

You should show how it is mounted on the Brompton for each of those lights and how it affects when it is folded

Do you think Magicshine evo1700 is suitable for mountain biking?

I have never been mountain biking so I am not really sure what type of light design would work best. You can contact them and they seem to respond back quickly by email.
