Also: about watch while eating, right now I just watch, I recline my chair, stretch my legs and just watch, sometimes I watch to go to sleep but then I look for where I left off so I can continue watching it the next day, hehe
A couple tips for Gargoyling against stage 2 dad: to escape the vacuum health absorption grab, you have to use your jump dashes instead of ground dashes. Also, when he does the attack where he starts covering the screen with lingering slash hitboxes (time stamp 36:35 for reference, since there are at least 2 attacks that fit this description), you can just go center stage and continuously dash upwards toward the top of the screen to avoid it. You may have to delay your fall with a skill, but it's very easy. I know it's an attack you're able to avoid anyway, but it's still useful Gargoyle tech and it can avoid some of dad's occasional attack layering shenanigans.

Off topic, I think you would really enjoy the recently released Nine Sols. Lots of parrying and fast paced combat/platforming to be found. Not sure how it would fair on the channel, but you give so much to us that I like to try and give back to you. It's a game that I immediately thought you would enjoy from other games you've mentioned in your videos.

As I've said previously when the topic came up, I remember the old format for videos and like both those and the long unedited content, it's my background for literally everything; food, writing, second monitor when gaming. You are very easy to listen to and also you're very funny, you have a sense of silliness of that I guess I also am LOL
I think the main issue with the build was that as soon as you dropped Sin, you didn't try to pivot the rest of the build. You had several physical items that did good damage under Sin, but then once you dropped it, they dealt less damage than the beam.
Now granted, this happened pretty late into the run, and Gargoyle themselves still would've had issues against Dark Dad and Dark Skul, but it wasn't entirely his fault.
Hey Beelz, console player here! Your Skul vids are amazing and I've been playing for the game for a little over a year now. Was gonna suggest something funny, maybe a Normal Attack Grave Digger run? Root cause being is that long story short, apparently there's a bug in the last phase of the Alexander fight where you just straight up CAN'T summon Grave Digger's Skeletons. AT ALL. It was the first time I got there and I wiped because my partner at the time was Demo Expert.

Same bug ruined my Grave Keeper run recently. Same setup too. Did not know about it, panicked and got destroyed.
@@Valkarma7 Yeah, it was disheartning to say the least, especially with how jacked my setup was. And outside of Bomber's Kabooms and my Quintesence of choice (King Dwarf), I had no damage output in that phase.

How'd I know it was gonna be a gunpowder sword angle for the run, oh wait... It's a Beelz video! This run was as much fun as I thought it would be, just tearing through everything in your way, while the previous Gargboyle was more of a technical showcase of his capabilities.
As for a Spectre run, maybe Werewolf or Ninja would pair well.

Not sure if I'm the first to discover this but turns out that the sun and moon items (specifically the not fused ones) go really well with an end game treasure run, because as I just learned in my first successful DM9 run, the king items will trigger the sun and moon Inscription and cause the sun and moon item to turn into it's duplicated variant (like the Solar Sword turning into the Dawn of the Crimson Sun). Once again I don't know if this is something that I have discovered or if this is already known, but if this is something I have discovered it would be amazing to see you cover it in a video.
Side note: the reason I'm putting this comment under this video is because this is your most recent Skul video as of me learning of this.
Side note 2: I have put some of my theories and ideas on the implications for how this can effect the balance of the sun and moon items in the replies of this comment.
My theory as to why this happens is because the sun and moon inscription is not necessarily coded to fuse two sun in moon items, it's coded to remove the sun and moon items from your inventory and give you the item associated with the sun and moon inscription icon (the orange or blue or whatever color the omen item makes it sun, moon, or whatever shape the omen item makes it) (more specifically the bit of code that controls this). When the inscription count is at two the game will check what this piece of code is, if this says the icon is half orange and half blue you will get the Fulgent Dawn, if this says it is all orange you will get the Dawn of the Crimson Sun, if this says it is all blue you will get the Dawn of the Argent Moon, etc. all the while removing all items with the sun and moon inscription from your inventory and possibly from the run (I don't know if sun and moon items can appear after you have gotten one of the fused items).
Overall this does technically make the Fulgent Dawn worse while making the Solar Sword, Lunar Ring, and the king items better, but the sun and moon items are not that affected by this all things considered (this does make the king items significantly better though). It's like the Oberon buff from the 1.9.0 patch, it is only in applicable for one or two bosses, meaning that for the majority of your run, including the dad fight, you will not be able to make use of this, and you will have to be carrying this fairly weak item for a potentially massive amount of time, although it is less intrusive then a whole Oberon build you will still need at least 4 slots dedicated to this strategy (3 for the treasure inscription (4 slots if you don't want to lock in the treasure inscription or don't have the ability yet) and 1 for the sun and moon item), while it is still possible to have an amazing build with all of this considered (mostly because treasure inscription and it's items are significantly better than the fairytale inscription and it's items), that's not the point, the point is that unless you really struggle with Dark Skul or Alexander this doesn't make Fulgent Dawn a bad idea to grab because you'll only be missing out on that 20% extra damage for at most two fights, the only thing this realistically does is give you a reason to hold onto the Solar Sword or Lunar Ring even if you can't find another item to fuse it with (that's not "I can't find anything better"). Now although this doesn't discredit the Fulgent Dawn as an item due to the amount of time you can use the Fulgent Dawn verses a Dawn of the Crimson Sun or a Dawn of the Argent Moon attained through this method, that argument has no effect on the king items that are only available for those two fights, so now by paring any king item with a Solar Sword or Lunar Ring, you will be getting an extra 60% or 105% damage boost (depending on if you had a different Arms or Artifact item already) over your existing build and an extra 20% damage boost over just having a Fulgent Dawn, making the treasure modification that much more great in comparison to the other inscription modifications, but to be fair that line was crossed back when the shared effect of every king item could be used with collection desire to send your damage into the stratosphere, this is kind of a drop in the bucket in comparison.
One last thing: Although this could be used to get the Omen: Unknown Darkness from the Omen: Shard of Darkness, I would not recommend it unless you are ready to attempt a no hit run of the only two bosses in the whole game that don't have a no hit achievement, remember the the effect that makes this method possible will increase the Omen inscription by 1 and that the Omen: Unknown Darkness already gives you 2 Omen, meaning that by having the Omen: Unknown Darkness or the Omen: Shard of Darkness with any king item, you will be getting 3 Omen and with thus die whenever you take a single point of damage, although Omen: Unknown Darkness does give you a 1 hp extra life and 3 seconds of I-frames so it's technically more of a 1 hit run across both Dark Skul and Alexander. So if the game devs are ever sadistic enough to add a no hit achievement for Dark Skul or Alexander you can use this to pretty good effect, you just need to be ready to reset within 3 seconds of getting hit. Stat wise (note that this does effect both damage types so it works exceptionally well for hybrid builds, notably Thief) this will give you 180% more damage over your current run or 280% if you get hit throughout the two fights (could be used for an Alexander no hit if you are willing to risk any portion of the Dark Skul fight and the whole Alexander fight with most likely just your starting life as a death buffer), this is also 100% more damage than if you got a Omen: Solar Eclipse or a Omen: Lunar Eclipse, but you will be essentially forced to do hitless, something you wouldn't have to do with either of the Eclipses.
It's very known already. The final treasure items that you receive all have the benefit of giving you +1 to all of your inscriptions. So any lonely Sun/Moon items will automatically go to 2/2 and transform. It allows you to be especially greedy with inscriptions and walk into the final area with a few that only have odd tier levels (1,3,5) and rely on the items to get you to the next spot. It pairs well with the collection desire dark ability and is almost always taken for treasure related runs as a result. It's good to hunt down strong tier 2 inscriptions where you only need 1 item before reaching the end. Duel, Execution, Sun/Moon, Revenge etc.
@@Beelz55 Dang, I couldn't tell if I was the first or not because information about Skul is pretty scarce or just spread out like crazy, I mean if Reddit threads are the first thing popping up in Google 90% of the time when looking something up you know there is a problem. I mean the wiki doesn't even have a proper page for Dominator even though they have been in the game for well over 2 months.

It makes all your damage turn in to whichever damage type you have the higher percent in.
For example, let's say you had 200 magic and 300 physical, and Afterimage. Sin would make your Afterimage deal physical damage. Or if you had 300 magic and 200 physical, it would make, let's say, the Thief's physical basic attacks, deal magic damage.

I agree sin is really hard to plan for but what I have done is stick with my main skul and little hero then if I get sin I switch little hero with that in mind. So running wolf then get sin and grab bomber to have bomber do physical instead of magic is hilarious

I think that if you want to do rigged runs it would be could to do in a "milestone prize" type of run. Like if you accomplish certain things you give yourself items, like "if I beat the sisters I give myself blood drinking sword" and so on, same for curses and etcetera, I personally it would be could and the best between a rigged run and a normal run

Nice vid man, your humor really makes our days.Also, I have a question if you don't mind... certain skulls don't activate traps since they float in the air, as you have previously mentioned in many videos, but for some reason, no matter what skull I use the spikes don't come off. It could be sword,paladin,predator you name it, but they just don't acknowledge my presence...is my game glitched?
Console versions have been bugged since the Dominator patch. Apparently none of the traps are working.

i rigged a king run because i was really curious about the cursed chest, they gave me 3 for the whole run, and 2 of them are from act 1 and 2, so, yeah, cursed spam won't happen unless you rig the king, and the levels, i also found out that the map is generated for that one run, so, if you got a way to move between maps, you'll stumble upon the same level regardless of your door choice, so does the inside of that level like the cursed chest, got myself like, 8-10 cursed chest for that beeg broadsword NNNGAH!! XD

I really appreciate the inclusion of a sin item. I really wish they'd reconsider how you get them, because they're an interesting concept but almost never helpful that late in the game. However, since that seems unlikely, have you considered occasionally rigging in a random sin at the start of a run, just to see if it leads your build in an interesting direction?

Why does the Stone of the heir goes from 2 to 4 when you kill The sisters? shouldn't be just 3 after the fight? or i'm missing something?
Each sister counts as an individual boss, so you get 2 from it. It's why back before extra bosses were added Stone of the Heir was considered a bit of a waste to take if you'd already past the sisters fight.

Yeah some items just exist without counterparts. Although if I had to take a guess I'd say eitehr of the Axes would fit the role if we really wanted. Big damage boost + a bonus effect. They don't share the same types of inscriptions but it's the best I got. Same rarities too.

It should yes, most multi phase fights count individually. Like how Kingslayer finished off the phases of some fights.
...I dont think anything is triggering explosive arrow here? invis knife isn't a projectile, it's on on-hit effect, and gargoyle here doesn't have any of his projectile moves. Obviously alchemist triggers, but aside from him, it's a dead item.
Also, there's this really cool thing you can do with gargoyle that makes him a better dash/chase item user than pikemen. With both of his dash skills.
Yeah, seems it doesn't work with the laser, which feels... wrong. Oh well, I got 2 Misfortune from it so that's neat I guess.

You can do super strong dash builds if you hold diagonal down and spam dash and jump on any gargy also your comment on how wolf would do way more damage is obvious you're actually comparing a like mid a tier skul to one of the few s+ tier skul
They should create a Rasta skull that vas a bong as weapon. skill1 bong smosh ground pund that stuns enemy´s and send them in other direction second skill bong smoke like ninja smoke but it doesnt make invulnerable but stuns enemy´s ^^ i got it worked out in my head ^^ 420!

New player here who can't comprehend getting more than 400-500% damage up on one damage stat, just gonna say by my standards, every boss kill was stupid fast, even when you were complaining about dad phase 1 taking long, in the back of my head I was like "at this point I'd have done like 2% of his hp" lol

I already watched that, part of my problem is not having everything from the grave robber, bad luck (seriously, I go for a physical build and I get maybe 4 physical item choices by the time I get to sisters, with shop rerolls) and not having any dimensional mirror wins, I have never seen those 3 statues infront of arachne, the pedastul above the merchant, or the one near grave robber, or those "banners" below the chef. I got the game only a few days ago
@@meinman7591 The 3 statues in front of Arachne is the reward for beating Dark Mirror level 4.
Keep going, the game is hard and it has one heck of a learning curve, and while things only get harder in the dark mirror, the game doesn't leave you out to dry, between the meta progression you build up in the normal mode and the rewards you earn in the dark mirror you are always getting stronger as you delve deeper into this game.
