I can't tell you how much I appreciate that you don't talk about the amp for the first 5 min and get right into playing. Also that you have it mic-ed and EQed properly
Hi Thanks very much! Yes the Roadster is running stock power and pre tubes. Pickups in the Custom 24 are HFS (Bridge Position) and Vintage Bass (Neck).
Hi Matt. Awesome demo mate. I recently bought this amp and I'm finding it hard to dial in some nice tones in channels 3/4 especially. It seems you need to dial the bass back a lot and put the presence up. It's my first experience with Mesa and it's a beast. It seems fizzy on the leads on 3 and 4. I've got some nice bluesy tones out of 1 and 2. I'm mainly a blues player anyway but would like to get heavy every now and again. All the recto and diode stuff confuses me a tad too. Thanks for the demo
Hey mate, Yeah, well this is the main difference between a standard Dual Rec, and the roadster, I owned a dual rec, which was the ultimate high gain rhythm amp, but to get the leads to sing I noticed alot of guys would use Tube Screamers for their leads, with the Roadster however, Channel 4 is a little hotter and allows you to crank the mids and gain a little more for soloing! :)
Great review. I was surprised at the soloing in channel 4 modern since many people say recto's aren't any good for leads. Do you think they can work for leads and soloing? Thanks!!
Hey matt great demo. Do you still own the amp? Ever had to change tubes? Ever have any issues with the amp? What do you use to change channels. The monster board or something different.
Hey amigos ! Everytime I use ch3&4 with tube screamer mxr gt-od cause without it sounds not the best as everyone knows.. my question is : when I m switchin' from dirty sounds to clean there's always mxr active, so I have to make another step on mxr so my clean can sounds as it should .. How do u solving this ? sorry for my english btw.. keep rockin' /,,/
Awesome demo and awesome tones! Is the Roadster running the standard preamp and power tubes? also what pickups are in your custom 24 are they the 59/09's?
Hey dude, no I don't actually, sold it a little while ago, only the rectifier tube, which had decided to die! Aside from that, nope extremely reliable, which to be fair, Mesas are! I used a RJM Mini Amp Gizmo and a Voodoo Lab Ground Control to switch the channels! :)
Awesome job man. Sounds great! Question. What pickups are in that PRS? Are they stock? I'm looking to get my own Custom 24 one day and yours sounds fantastic.
Justin Sweitzer Appears they are the 59/09's. I have the same guitar, color and all : ) Though I saw another reply that said HFS, so could be those. But I think that model normally came with the PRS 59/09's.
Kenna Okoye its not a dual rec, its its own thing, Its a bit similar to a dual rec, but its not a combo version of it, vintage 30s are the speakers in it.

great demo and awesome playing man!
Nice sounding combo. That Brit channel especially.
Sounds great, well done! Had one for 4 years and just sold it. Could never get the dirty channels bass tight enough without a boost.
people like matt should play a lot for other people in clubs. excellent playing! congratulations

Hi Matt... This is 100/50 watt amp, it really gives you great sounds on bedroom volume?
The 50 watt mode gives me great tones at low volumes! But I have the 2x12 combo
Great demo Matt. Any chance you'd trade your awesome playing for my more than awesome beard and moustache?
which is better mark v or roadster?
Awesome job man. Sounds great! Question. What pickups are in that PRS? Are they stock? I'm looking to get my own Custom 24 one day and yours sounds fantastic.
Justin Sweitzer Appears they are the 59/09's. I have the same guitar, color and all : ) Though I saw another reply that said HFS, so could be those. But I think that model normally came with the PRS 59/09's.
They are indeed HFS and Vintage bass in that guitar! :)
So is this essentially a Dual Rectifier Combo?
It has several more features than a standard dual rec, but at its core that's exactly what it is.
Want to upgrade from my rectoverb comvo
Wanna hear the reverb
So what is this??? Its not a dual rec combo?? what are vintage 30s?
Kenna Okoye its not a dual rec, its its own thing, Its a bit similar to a dual rec, but its not a combo version of it, vintage 30s are the speakers in it.
What is the difference between the Roadster and the normal dual rec?
Roadster is a lot darker voiced and it has 4 channels instead of 3
Awesome, Matt!
Haha, now I feel bad for being such a douchebag guitarist.
