- Ever since I first saw Mesa Boogie Roadking I wanted one. We were lucky enough to have both the Roadking and Roaster models in the workshop so thought we would give one a blast through our Zilla Super Fatboy.
We recovered this amp in white bronco just because it looks cool.

I love my Roadster. I have it paired with a Marshall 1960a cab. It can dial in any and every style if you're patient. Truly an amazing amp. 🤟
Excellent, did you see our Mesa head Marshall cab vs Marshall head Mesa cab video? We used the Roadking with a 1960 combination. Thanks for watching.
Great playing, great tone. The cab looks classy, too!
Thanks mate.
Gorgeous cab! Can’t wait to get my hands on it ;) I enjoyed the Roadster playthrough as well. The two tone color vibe really works for that amp.
Excellent, glad you like it mate. It was a pleasure doing business. Paul.
Awesome setup and one of my fav amps.
Thanks... they are interesting amps. There's definitely a lot of amp in side that thing.
@@ZillaCabs oh hell yes, you can spend day adjusting that amp
Hi there, just rewatching this after watching the EV video you did. How would the roadster sound with the EV's especially the clean channel
Ooh that's a good question. We no longer have the Roadster but do have a Roadking, I'll have to try and dig it out. Maybe load a 4x12 with EVs.
@@ZillaCabs 4 by 12 with EV's - i think that would possibly maim.. lol
Outstanding... Actually looking for a cab for my roadster head...... ha, food for thought.. would love to hear it through a 15 inch speaker..
Thanks Tim, I'm glad you like it. V30s are a good call for the Roadster for sure. I wish we have plugged in a few different speakers though as it can sound really nice with quite a few different speakers.
The cab looks very nice indeed, but the amp sucks, or is it just your settings are not quality...
hi Joe is the v30 16 ohms or 8 ohms and are they wired series or parallel
Hi Ian, they were two 16ohm V30s wired in parallel to give an 8ohm cab.
@@ZillaCabs tks Joe what's your thoughts on v30 8ohms and creamback 8 ohms in series in 2x12 fatboy so 16 ohms cab did you try that configurating how does it sound
@@ianfly it's Paul here. That should work really well, I like the mix. It is normally the H creamback that gets mixed with the V30 but the M works well too, just there is a small volume drop. The 8ohm speakers will be a smidge less bright than the 16ohm speakers but the Fatboy will give you plenty of umph for sure.
@@ZillaCabs tks Paul I didn't gel with the kemper kones at all couldn't wait to get them out ha cant beat old celestions the red snakeskin cab is un real great work
Great job with the tolex. Did not have the amp dialed in tho...
true, worst tone ever
Joe has used the rectifier amps a fair bit, I think the sounds he got were fairly representative of what the amp does.
@@ZillaCabs the mic doesn't do justice it's not the way he has dialed it in
I don't meant to be disrespectful
Awesome player and great tolex job. Amp sounds awful though. Sorry.
