Glad I am feeling the same excitement about new Airfix kits now as I did decades ago.
Me too, I’m 63 now and last time I built Airfix was back in 1967-8 I guess it was an EE Lightning. I’ve completed 2 starter kits to get back into it, my third build is the Pagani Car but near completion I spilt enamel thinners on the clear section of glass, ruined now. Lesson learnt stop when you get tired and have patience in the build. Glad you are enjoying the hobby too.

I have my eye on the Ferret MK2. Drove it in the late 70's/early 80's. It was an absolute blast.
Glad you're keeping up with an impressive repertoire; I've been an Airfix fan since the mid-60's, though I've been away from modeling for 4 decades.

The gannet looks brilliant. Most likely I will buy two so I can build both wings folded and down. Great stuff Airfix!
Remember the Double pack from when i was a kid so will be picking that up for sure to relive my youth. lol

The first model I made was the triplane from the dogfight double. Dad kept the Bristit for himself😁. I hope it will be in the original pinky red plastic…

Since there will be an Airfix 1/48 Gannet in the near future, an Airfix 1/72 version when???
Very excited to see the Ferret! Less than excited about dealing with trying to place a pre-order with Hornby US; tells me since I haven't ordered for a while, I have to contact customer service; nobody answers the phone, get a recording to call customer service.... Sent a text, got a reply someone would contact me. That hasn't happened either. Forget it, I'll wait until it's released.

@@LaplandLightsholidayhome good luck! It was absolutely frustrating for me. If I touched the wrong icon, it would add another item to the basket! Think I was up to 4 at one point.
Since it's a pre-order, it would say :. Amount due:$0 ; but then it says Proceed to checkout. Go to checkout, it said I had to have an account to preorder; I tried to use my account, it said you haven't ordered for a while, call customer service. After 40 minutes of being run in circles and pure frustration, just screw it.
So does the F-35B starter kit have any detail of the lift fans etc? It doesn't look like it, unlike kits of the type by other producers. After only one new release in 1/72 last year and just one starter kit this year, plus a few ancient re-releases, Airfix seems to have given up on 1/72 modellers. My money will be spent elsewhere this year, just like 2022.

Query on the Hunter. The FGA.9 and FR.10 had the Avon 200 series engine, with a large diameter tail pipe. But the GA.11, which was based on the F.4, had the Avon 100 series engine, with a small diameter tail pipe. Does the kit have different tail pipe parts to account for this ?

I put an electric engine in the Fokker triplane for my WWI model railway layout.
I cannot for the life of me understand why the Gannet was not created as the AEW3 variant ... Airfix has just released a very nicely tooled Buccaneer from the same era & both served together on the last Fleet Carrier HMS Ark Royal.
Oh well.
Apart from that its just old resurrected kits ... again.
The Fokker, but ofc need be Biggles Sopwith Camel too. If anyone stills knows who that is ofc...
I have been building models since 1974. Biggles got me in to modelling. Long live Biggles.
